Thought i would get some ideas for future outdoor grows. I know some of you have been breeding and exchanging seeds and strains so you have more experience with different strains. I have been using the same strains here for years cause i dont know any better. this year i branched out and tried some new ones and hope they work out. So my question is what strains do you know work out well here Outdoor in the Northern tier of states. I live in Michigan which is the fickle weather capital of the world.

TSD is running an experiment on Cinderella XX, and she's in a cooler environment than we are in MI. It matures quickly once it flowers (8 and 9 weeks from flip for the first two plants in my tent). The big question is, when does it start flowering?

My last outdoor grow was in North Carolina, and the fastest plant I ever ran outside was a Cinderella 99 cross (done in mid-September). So I think there are possibilities.

Man this is an awesome post i think a lot of people could benefit from, myself being one of them. I usually run autos outside but last year i tried photos, and it was a complete fail. Tried to run 2 white widows, a strawberry lemonade, and a bubblegum.

Bubblegum wasnt even showing sex the middle of September so i pitched that thing in the woods, 1 of the white widows froze, the second one got mildew so i chucked that too, strawberry lemonade gave only 4 ounces.... it was a complete waste of my time.

This year i started my stuff earlier and have a better plan in place so maybe ill get better results this year.

Well hopefully we'll find out!

I've had good luck with Northern Lights in the past, but haven't grown it in some years because I got sick of it. I've done Black Cherry Punch 2 years running and it does well, seems quite pest and mold resistant, has good yields, and gets those nice purples if that's something you care about. Not doing one this year, because Im sick of it and have probably close to a half pound left still. 20221008_120021.jpg20221009_120323.jpg20221007_185342.jpg
If you want to attempt a sativa dominant strain outside, I've done Super Silver Haze a few times and it has finished, I think I actually harvested her before BCP last year. She was also good as far as pests, the first year I grew her, her neighbor got aphids and they steered clear of her. Love the strain too, good Sativa without being too overpowering so as to make you a paranoid mess.20221001_194143.jpg

I've also had success with White Widow in past years, but the pheno from last year struggled to finish and actually probably needed another 2 weeks when she came down due to rot popping up.

GSC has finished for me, but I don't like it so won't grow it again.

Just keep in mind that I do extra to get these to finish as well, drying with the leaf blower, covering for frost, etc. As far as a strain that will EASILY finish here... I've yet to find one. Tempted to try some fast strains to make my life easier. My list of strains that aren't worth the effort in these parts is much longer.

Hoping the Cinderella XX is the magic strain lol. I have never grown a single strain I have started currently (other than the Zookies which I'm giving to my dad) so it should be an interesting year. I don't like doing the same strains over and over, I'm usually sick of the smoke by the following summer, let alone back to back years.

Beautiful plants TSD. Your harvests always impress the crap out of me.

I'm looking forward to Grandmommy Purple this year.
Thanks! I think GMP is gonna get the coveted spot that always grows the big girls, because she's already towering over everyone else, despite being topped and me accidentally snapping her main stem. Need to get out there and rearrange the garden for maximum sun in everyone.

My recommended for outdoor full term in tough climates:

Dragons Stash
Celestial Dragon
Love Stash
Garlic stash v13 and v21.
Silver Dragon Haze.

Any of those the bulk of the phenos will trigger early, flower fast and hard, and can take grey days, frosts, rain, humidity etc.

Heres some Dragons Stash...northern oregon grown.

I came across this blog on Greenpoint today mentioning some outdoor suggestions and thought of this thread.
Two are from GP and the others are somewhat common from several breeders
