Heavy snowfall last night power has been out 12 hrs As above says, lights on normally come on 8 am off 8pm. Power outage until 1:30 pm. Would it be better to cut my day short today and just give them 6.5 hrs of light and forget about today or do it slowly over a a few days. I'm probably just thinking weird about this cause I was sitting in the dark with a flashlight to see, getting fking cold, smoking a joint getting panicky on wtf I'm going to do and the furnace kicked on....POWER...run around getting lights & heat on with timer adjusting

Ya that's what I thought I just hate giving them short hours. Today was supposed to be the day I extend the hours to 12.5/11.5. I've been using my Far reds the last week for 15 min at lights out. I had hoped to get to 14/10 by the end as I dim my lights accordingly. They also got cold, dropped into the 50'f area. No big deal 1 night but panic starts to set in after 12hrs and no power......Kitties were getting the zoomies to stay warm I guess.

It can be worrisome, if it was just the one night in this case, nothing to worry about

you're fine
better than lights turning on early
Yes indeed, been there done that, 2 grows back I left a small light on in front of my tent after lights out, doors open. I was 4 weeks into flower before I saw the light. I knew right away I had fked up and yep a tent of full blown hermies seeds seeds seeds, Fking timer issues have caused some seeded grows in the past as well...I've been at this a long time and I'm still waiting for that perfect grow...lol

I think its supposed to drop to -12C /10.4F tonight, Without power we have no phone either & no way to know how long power will be out. Hundreds of thousands are without power now across the Province. Not good in the Cold weather. About 0-1C/33f now snows melting off the trees. All this shit will freeze solid tonight....sigh...Stupid Winter....lol

Ready for winter to be over so I can then complain how hot it is lol

is that a normal occurrence?

Backup generator in option incase it got really bad?

4-5 times a year, I have 2 generators, 1 brand new, never been used, so far tucked away in my basement It would take a hour to haul it out, the other sits on my deck but I couldn't get it to start, I read the manual i believe its low oil...ya...talk about lazy. When we get predicted weather like a hurricane I get shit ready and nothing happens so i get complacent, smoke and forget about it until the next time it goes out

Power outages always make me nervous.
We don't get them as often as we used to thankfully.
I have the portable generator thing also.
Try to run it every 6 months and try to be prepared and something goes wrong.
If nothing goes wrong still a pain and lot of work to get things hooked up.
I used to have a storage tub of just nice extension cords and power strips just for outages to try to avoid all BS of getting stuff hooked up.
Not sure if I started the generator in 2025 or not....

I have cables running through the wall down to my basement grow.1for lights and one for furnace and what ever I may need. Once I have a Gen up and running it only takes a bit to have power where needed. Each time I get all hooked up power comes back on, Last nights 12 hours was about as long as its ever gone out. One day a few years back it went for 36 hrs in summer after a hurricane blew through so fridge, internet, lights and fans had to run.

Off topic but I'm sitting here waiting till I can set my lights, giving them all the on time I can today. was 8-8 I'll run 9-9. After seeing this I turned my 79f - 76f now at 5 weeks.

Charge that cell phone in the drawer. You don’t have to like it but it’s a great emergency tool if needed.

Which drawer is it in? Hard to find in the dark. If I knew we were going to lose power I'd prepare, Water saved in jugs, weed chopped,Gens, tested, electric cords at the ready & such but trying to do that shit in the cold, dark without weed chopped???....Ya I should be better prepared. 2 fking generators and I sit in the dark and cold...WTF.....Eh?
