Great White Shark Attack

right now at the 280pms i'm 1/4 strength of the formula. if i don't see an improvement in the next couple days i'm going to add more nutes to bring it up to 3/4 strength. and if that does nothing and or makes it worse even then plan B is to dump it all out and try a different line of nutes.
Yeah let 'em ride for another week or so. I'd say that if we don't see improvement on the redness but the burns simmer down... flip them bitches and run this lineup through flower. Add just a little calmag when you flip.

one other thing i've been wanting to do. i have new filters i bought and have been meaning to replace the one in there now. if it changes the PPM at all from old to new i'll let y'all know. i really honestly don't remember how old it is. when i replace the sink one i take that old one and pug it into the ice maker line, this line is where i get my hydro water from. i'm going to put a brad new filter in the ice maker line and see if it reduces any PPM's at all..

oh... and i'll write the date on the new filter!!!! hahha

i changed the filter out and the PPM's didn't change at all. water comes out a whole lot faster though!!! but... sumbitch, stickers!!!!!

i thin they're improving.. i need to strip the bottoms a little and promote top growth. i think i'm going to start ramping the lights back up. i'm currently at 25-25-25 both lights, so abouts 200w total.

EC and ph has not moved once and i've done nothing but pluck a few leaves.. as far as ease of use and price i don't think i can beat this setup one bit.

i just need to get my water tested so we know what i'm dealing with here and i thing that could help a bunch.

East Bound and Down, Loaded Up and Truckin..

watched this last night while i was messing around with a vertical logo print...

i cranked it up yesterday.. more nutes, now 490ppm from 280, lights up to 40% from 25...

twenty four later and no changes... they drank more in the past day ten they have in three days before so thats a good sign.

plants are still growing... still having slight issues but it is for sure much better. without using any calmag or buffer it has made the solution very steady and just making it easier and better for the plants.

i am now on full strength lucas formula im not sure of the EC, i think its around 720 or something.. higher than i've ever gone before. i haven't been watching it all. it's either gonna work or it's not so i' not gonna bother watching anything. i think it was friday that i drained the system (minus the plant sites and plumbing (less than one gallon)) mixed up a clean new batch with fresh water, this was the first time since plugging in the new filter cartridge. i put in 30 gallons of well water, 150ml of micro and 300ml of bloom nutes and that was it. ph was 5.7 when it went in, it was also cold around 58° so i waited for the heater to bring it up to 70° and the ph was at 5.8. a few days later and it's still at 5.8 so i didn't bother checking the ec everyday. in a few days if it's still improving i'll put in some mr humic and mix up a batch of top off to match. if it's not improving or good enough to me i'm gonna switch nutes quick. it will be one of the two i already have, either nova or jack's and i'm leaning nova right now. kinda hoping i won't need to decide..

the newest growth is the best looking on the plant so i have some hope...

I’ve got red cups I need to transplant once I harvest the tent. I’ve been cutting them in half every time they touch the lights. Still have about a week before harvesting. We check the trichomes this Saturday.

Your plants are a good size with huge roots. A little lime color here and there but that happens. The brown tinge to the roots is a surprise. Didn’t you get them whiter a while back? Anything to worry about?

yeah there is some lime in there yet.. all the good dark green has white veins in the leaves and the others are red. i haven't changed anything since this lucas formula so i don't expect it to be any better than this i was hoping but it's been long enough i think... but man it;s way better!!! the no calmag and buffer has made my life way easier and cheaper and it's steady on the plants!!! i keep forgetting to ask my one neighbor where to get my water tested,, he's kinda into that field in his work and probably know just what i need to do. prolly has all the forms and everything!! hahaha thats where i always planned to start anyhow with my water... i just keep forgetting. he and i talk about a lot of shit and seeps through the cracks all the time!! i'll get on it!!!

.

not worried one tiny bit about that brown color.... that's the color of this lucas formula. without adding the green from the trio it makes it kinda rusty color... looks that way in my white top off barrel as well... doesn't stain at all, just the color. this is what it looks like at full strength...

Wasn’t down playing the plants, think they doing fine honestly. Just noting things going by pics current and past.

I’ve been fighting the line color since flip. Using the dry nutes is a lit trickier for me. It was much easier outside for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

Good to know the roots are just stained because they look great! Bowl of spaghetti. I never really get to see how well mine have done. Just a hint when I reclaim the soil.

i assume you're just mixing them into the surface and then watering after? you're plants are drinking heavy right now yeah?.. maybe they're drinking so heavy they suck the moisture from the top and the nutes don't dissolve in the soil as well.

just spit ballin..

maybe mix em into a tea first and then water?

this is the coolest thing about hydro!!! it's just not the same when breaking soil apart to look at em.

one teaspoon per gallon of nova isn't working.. in the past week the ph has been diving and the doser has been drinking ph up like it's koolaid. it dumped four ounces of ph up in the rez over the past week.

red stems are back..

i tried cutting the EC in half again. this was the easy thing to try. riding right at 420ppm right now.

hope i can get the ph steady because the plants color looks better with the nova and growth has been faster with it.

if the ph doesn't even out in a day or two i'm gonna have to drop back ten and punt. i'm about ready to flip so if this lower EC doesn't steady it up i'm going to swap back to lucas formula.

it's been at least 48 hours since lowering the EC, well technically i just watered it all down. the K is in half so 2 oz is still high.. the fulvic is now half as well. but the past two days the ph has not gone down. it's crept up slightly actually.

the newest growth is white veins so i might just hold off a change out, so I think i'm gonna go for it on fourth down... or at least try to draw the D offsides before i call a timeout!!!

i don't really have a good top off mixed, it's just a barrel of the higher EC, i have the top off turned off and will be monitoring intake day to day. they seem to be drinking and for now i'm gonna let them sip from the double EC. it's like 850. i only need a few more days and i'll do a changeout to bloom nutes. if i can keep the nova steady i'll continue with that.

i still need to clean up the bottom two inches yet.. see the red stripes on those stems ↓↓ it was a lot worse a couple days ago. i suspect K poisoning.

but i will most likely be flipped by next weekend. i'm planning on it anyway!!!! never got the power squash done.. my slacker ass never got it done. i measured and made marks and never mounted anything. maybe when i take them out to trim their downstairs.

gonna look awesome with two plants under the table!!! happy to also see the clones are growing equal again!! haha it's always something with me i swear... a drama diary for sure!!!!! haha

Happy Luv day Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mix each plants dry ingredients in separate red cups. Then I use a old fork to scratch up the top inch or so of soil in each pot. I scoop the soil from a pot into a coffee can, dump in the dry nutes and mix it up for a while. Getting rid of any lumps. Once that’s done I dump it back into the top of the pot and move onto the next one.

When all pots are done I put the plants back and used the watering wand to lightly water the top feed into the soil.

I really liked the wand for that. Gave me better control and ensured it was evenly distributed. I hope I’m able to open it without breaking it later to swap batteries.

that all sounds straight up textbook to me. i don't think what you were seeing was because of your technique that's foe show!! some dry nutes just take their sweet ass time. it's the main reason i fed my last round with only tea. i was late to game with my feeding and i knew tea was gonna be the only way to get them eating fast. i'm a big fan of compost/food tea!

man i sure hope you can get a new battery in that and it's not a bad chip or something on the board. i bet if worst came to worst you could always direct wire to the motor and skip all the electronics if they happen to be bad.

i'll be using mine again coming soon for the next new soil round.

.

the watered down Nova seems to be doing really well. the EC is slightly creeping up but the ph has been steady and hasn't moved. it's still at 5.9 and i'm a little afraid to try and adjust because last time i overshot the down last week when i first switched to nova. i think maybe this just idles at 5.9 and i shouldn't fight it or worry about it for now.

the color is coming back nicely and growth rate is right back on track. with the EC slightly climbing i decided to just put a bucket of zero ppm water for the top off to sip from...

so i don't plan to punt. we're gonna line up on fourth down and jam the ball right down their throat!! when i flip i will switch to nova bloom i'll aim for 420ppm then add fulvic and bennies/enzymes. i still plan to flip this week hopefully, they will tell me when it's time. i want them thriving at flip not recovering.

the dark green is filling in and the leaves even have their "sheen" back to them. i don't think the heavy poisoned ones will ever recover. they get defoled off anyway when i lower the screen.
