A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

Its a pipe dream he's having. He's just talking off the top of his head, We're not about to erase the Border on a whim of his. It would take an actual war I think before we'd submit but without any guns here at home we'd be a pretty easy target. I can't even get a BB gun without Government approval, records check and a fire arms safety course. I've heard rumors we're training our geese to fly south and crap on the white house lawns in retaliation for tariffs. They're training them on golf courses to unload on green spaces.

Ya we ain't so lucky, Those will be our best days of the year what you have now but we won't get a full week like that ever without rain or cloud, In my 30 years here I don't think we ever had a full week of sun without clouds, We can go a month - 2 without much rain but not with clear skiesView attachment 88752

You're getting all the snow! 😕 we had a bunch in November but by mid December it was gone, I was able to get on the roof to do a second clean out on the stove pipe

We had 8" over last weekend, could be a big one Thursday depending on the temperature but I got this new Ariens snowblower so I don't really give a damn, this thing is a beast! I love getting out there with it ☃️

Cool! Saw some last fall, saw a bald eagle yesterday at my neighbor's up the hill a piece, he thinks it's what's been stealing his chickens, looked big enough to take a small goat!

Here's a picture I took of some over the Hayfield last summerView attachment 88826View attachment 88827

i hear they're making a great comeback. this year new jersey removed them from the endangered species list!! magnificent birds!!!!

They really are! I never saw one in the wild in my life until I moved here a few years ago, and now I see them several times a year

We gottom up here a bunch. Common checken killers.
Out there about 55 miles west way out on the tip of the coast there's a garbage dump, there just like seagulls.
Yep there's a bunch

Saw one at our transfer station, big son of a gun

Recently I walked in the room at dusk and saw a big pair of eyes 8 feet in the air staring at me ...it was this guy, he was hunting field mice at the bird feederIMG_20250111_164022~2.jpg

Found a home for the 3rd of 4 light strips that I bought for my little seed starting area, all the lighting in the kitchen is behind me so I'm always working in my shadow, so it's a game changer at the espresso bar! ☕🐸 IMG_20250205_102236_01.jpg

Update: 2/6

72 hours since wetting and I don't have a good feeling about these seeds, only three out of five cracked and only one of those developed a tail, the other two just cracked and sat there

Regardless, I've transferred the 3 into my small 3 inch square pots, they're sitting at a steady 79°f

I'm ordering some other seeds today so if these fail I won't be too far behind 😕

UPDATE:

These are the two that haven't cracked

the one that put out a tail is already above the soil which is a great sign

so I'm still holding out hope for those two that cracked but then just sat there for 18 hours or so

79°f in the new seed starter, so far it's working flawlesslyIMG_20250206_122434~2.jpgIMG_20250206_122357~2.jpgIMG_20250206_122741.jpg

UPDATE:

So the two Red Beard Platinum OG Kush seeds that didn't crack are waterlogged, black & likely dead. I'll give them thru the weekend before I toss them

There's still a possibility that the two that did crack but then stopped growing could come up out of the Pro-mix, so I'll give them a while longer

At this point I'm glad no one took me up on my offer for the rest of the Green Point seeds because I've just started three GPS Onyx Crush, at least they came right up like fresh seeds should

The way I see it I'm already a week behind cuz of the poor start of the Red Beard seeds, so rather than wait another week or possibly longer for a seed delivery, then another week to get them sprouted, I'll just start what I have here, and go from there 😕

This is the one RB Platinum OG Kush that did grow, todayIMG_20250207_010947.jpg

I have had very fast delivery from North Atlantic Seed Company.
They are in Maine.
They are having a sale now also.

Thanks for sharing that, they even have the LA Affie by Swerve, which is some of the best cannabis I've ever grown, ran it for years starting back in 2015 when I started growing again, and it's cheaper than ordering off the CC website too

I'm going to go with what I have now, the GPS Onyx Crush seems like a great mix of genetics, and because they were my first grow in almost 4 years in a brand new grow room I'm going to give them a second try

In the meantime I'm going to order some LA Affy from that website you sent me, and that will be my next run, might pop a couple outdoors this spring too

Are you from Maine by chance? If you are you got half a foot of snow in your driveway, better get at it! 😂🤣😂

The reason I ask is I have always heard about the legendary Christmas Tree Bud from Maine, I know a couple of outdoor growers here, but I haven't asked them about it yet, would love to find some!Screenshot_20250207-080912.jpg

That's awesome~!
I have used NASC for Ethos seeds I can't get in Mass. at the grow stores. I get 2-3 day delivery everytime.
Wife and I like to go for rides in the good weather and Mass. was legal before NY so just where I have gone.
When I found NASC and saw they were in Maine it seemed like a no brainer to me.
Even with NY being legal I don't buy any of my seeds from here.

I am not from Maine but have gone for most of my life [ now 60 years ].
My father, brother and sister have all lived in Maine.
Last couple years we just go up to Wells to visit my brother inlaw at the beach house he and my sister had.
Kind of a family get together for brother and I and memorial for sister all in one.
Kind of sucks going up in October though.
I love summer on the beach. I love the sun and probably why I work outside.
Living in upstate NY is rough enough, I don't think I would enjoy Maine the same if I had to winter it~!
I am in Saratoga NY where Horses, Health, and History are the mantra.
My heart belongs to Maine though.

We had snow and sleet most of yesterday, a little today and expecting 4-8 inches tomorrow.
I will likely get the tractor going to make sure end of driveway is clear but we are having 40-50mph gust now at 30ish so not in any real hurry.
Bad weather is the only time I take off, so I am really good at staying inside.

Ongonquit and Flos Hot Dogs, riding the trolleys, great. Saw George Bush (and his double) go out in a fishing boat. Fished in the Sacco River and camped at Bar Harbor. LL Bean HQ 24x7 forever. When I lived in NH we would bomb up to Maine for steamers summer burns.

You forgot Nubble light~!
I have Perkins cove on a video stream from Barnacle Billys~!
I check Maine out everyday and definitely have passed by Walkers Point many times while cruising through Kennebunk.
😎

I know you mentioned you spent your summers on Wells beach but it never dawned on me to ask you if you were still here

I've been to Saratoga it's beautiful country, my late second wife and I vacation there several times, we also visited Niagara falls

Growing up in Boston I thought I knew what a New England winter was until I moved a few hundred miles north, winter does get real here, but I got plenty of firewood and I'm in the middle of a freaking forest so....

Have you heard of the Maine Christmas Tree bud? I've only seen pictures and breeders who have claimed to have it posting on cannabis boards, but I don't think it's a unicorn

I'm going to keep my eye open I'd love to run into some, it's supposed to taste like pine 🌲

The hotdogs are red here, I still don't understand that?

I have not but would defer to @GoodShit97 or @Cool_Beans for things Maine also.
CB is there [ Sunday River ski area] and G$ still has family I believe and does the trip yearly at least.
We got a good group of Mainiacs here~!

The only Christmas bud I've heard of is '79 Xmas bud, not saying there isn't a Maine Christmas Tree bud.
Pretty sure xmas bud got its name for its heavy pine aroma and structure.

That's it, is it extinct like real skunk#1?
