I all but know this might be the best redneck idea or possibly the absolute WORST. Not sure but seems like it might work??

My 4x8 veg tent that doubles as a dry/cure tent shares a wall with my shop. It works great for either Spring and Fall. However during the winter and summer it definitely needs to be better and definitely is terrible to veg in during the winter as well as dry/cure in during the summer. The storage building is insulated however it has no environmental control at all.

Thought is to make my shop that I keep very comfortable 365 24/7 the redneck lung room for the 4x8 tent. There are all kinds of projects that happen in the shop ie welding, carpentry, and all kinds of other nonsense. But I always run a HEPA filter on any intake into a fresh air grow area so I have myself convinced that it’s genius.

most of the time my genius ideas end up disasters and or face plants.

Any advice or suggestions are definitely appreciated!

Peace

With a hepa filter I think you will be OK. If you are painting or doing something that releases VOCs or something, I think I would shut off the tent while that clears out in the shop. Probably welding too, just not sure.

I know plants can and do lock up pollutants so that would be the only concern, not so much sawdust. Although pressure treated sawdust has arsenic in it...

Ultimately you are in the shop when doing these things, presumably already ingesting pollutants, so maybe not a big deal?

Thank you Moe!

I will definitely turn the intake fan off when there is bad crap that I wouldn’t want in the tent inside the shop. And your advice is very much appreciated.

These days there is very minimal welding that takes place and very little if and paint gets sprayed in the shop. There are definitely a couple cigarette smokers that frequent the shop if anything I would be most concerned about cigarette smoke.

I honestly am hoping to bring the tent temperature up from 30s-50s to the mid 70s. For the next 90+ days. For the last several years I have moved the tent into my shop for the winter and it’s a PIA. Mainly because 32sqft is a lot of floor space and it seems to always be in the way. It will also be great if it works for the dry/cure environment when it’s hot as hell in the dead of summer.

The final two duct fittings just got delivered from UPS. Time to cut an 8” hole and hopefully not regret it.

Peace

My shop is basically the lung room for my flower room and my only concern is bugs from outside that can come into the shop

How do you prevent the bugs bud? I was hoping a HEPA filter would stop the bastards? I hopefully don’t need to worry about the bastards for a few months since it will be below freezing almost every night for at least 90 days.

I’m hoping to use the shop as a lung room during the summer when it’s hot as hell as well so it definitely needs to be addressed. I also could be wrong about the bastards going dormant, hibernating, dying or what I think they do in the winter when it’s cold especially at night?

Any advice or suggestions you can offer are greatly appreciated!

Is spraying tempo necessary during the winter? I have tempo but very little left and I definitely can’t buy in Comifornia anymore. Assholes!

We get killing frosts so spraying isn't necessary during winter,

The pesticides Like Tempo and Avid are still around if you know the right people. If they do not know you the answer is no!!!
