Almost a half century ago, I owned an herb brokerage business. I bought 3" pots of cullanary and medicinal herbs from grandpa-in-law in Cali, 120 odd varieties, and wholesale them to local nurseries in Phoenix. Today I was in Lowe's picking up some Viola's and saw pots and pots of Lamb's Ear, one of the herbs I sold. It had been a long time since I saw Lamb's Ear and while it does have some medicinal uses, I remember it for what else I learned it was used for, 150-200 years ago. Have you guessed what it was used for? Here is a link to a good read, "Call the night man!" It's the first hit when I googled Lambs Ear like this.
EDIT: enjoy the read while you enjoy the go... 🤣
