The Crescendo were not viable seeds, only 2 of the 10 cracked their shell and after 4 days, they were going to be problematic. The Aura all popped in 2-3 days and have been put in their pots and are doing well. I decided to chuck the Crescendo and started the GG#4's as a replacement. They are in a moist paper towels now.......

I grew it for a year or so, cannot remember who the breeder was. It was years ago now. Wonder if I can find my diary on it?

Still, disappointing about the Crescendo. i was looking forward to that one.

I thought I would put this one up too. 6 out of the 24 left to cut, under HPS and before I started topping and defoliating.View attachment 112139
Wow! That looks a little different than what you're doing now and those colas look massive. It's pretty neat to see a then and now example of an adjustment an experienced grower has made to their grow practices. There may already be a similar thread, but I'll bet it would be interesting to hear some experienced guys share the most beneficial change they've made over the years. Maybe even the worst fad or experiment they've tried.

This has been discussed previously. With the rooms approx. the same size but shaped differently, and moving from 2 hps to 2 led's- I was able to improve yield 1-2 lbs a light. Now the plants are more manageable with the topping, while the led's offer a much better light spread thru the room. i actually thought by switching to led's the room would operate cooler, which is not the case. But it worked out as the plants like it a bit warmer and grow better u der L.E.D. The led's paid for themselves (I paid $2800 for 2 Gavita's delivered when they first came out) from the very first crop. lol

All my grows since 2010 are still out there on RIU and the Farm. Others are on Overgrow, ICMag, and a few other places. Fun sometimes to go back and review. 4 grows a year, almost 15 years- that's just shy of 60 threads- it's time to retire. lol

8 of 10 of the GG#4's have opened their shells so everything was planted and the 2 seeds not opened yet were both placed in 1 pot, and I'm hoping 1 of the 2 eventually does open.

No, sir. Retirement is unacceptable. Legends don't retire, they just continue to legend.

Start accepting it because it is coming.......... getting harder and harder each crop. Still a ways off, maybe 1-2 years max. I carry 40 lb water containers from my bedroom down 2 flights to the basement. I carry dirted pots from the garage to the basement, then back up and to outside when the crop is done. Then I have to break up the rootballs and spread it around my 1.2 acres. Then I sit for 3 days trimming up 4-5 lbs of smoke by myself. The legs ain't what they used to be. My hands ain't what they used to be. Actually, nothing is the same as it used to be. lol

So, GG#4's are also having issues. Very slow growth, only 2 of 10 have popped thru the soil. My guess is either they are old or not well cared for. The Aura's were strong and quick, no issues. The Crescendo's and GG#4's, a different story. I started some Lit Farm's "Sharpiez", which is a Rainbow Marker (remember that one?) hybrid and I'll fill these in with anything that doesn't do well.

The first 3 strains I did of B2ACG's were great, no issues at all. So, 4 of 6 were perfectly fine, these last 2 just don't seem right. Whether they'll weren't well cared for at some point, or shipped in 90+ degrees weather, or whatever- I'm just trying to get 18 healthy plants so I can move forward. I'm not pointing fingers here, just reporting the facts.

Lastly, I've probably started a 1000 seeds or more over the years- i've had run after run of 100% sprouting. Shit happens, I get it. Let's see how the Lit Farms stuff does.

Happy to report 2 more GG's have poked thru so i may have been too hasty.......let's see what happens the next few days.

All 6 of the Lit Farms Sharpiez opened within 2 days.........only 3 of the 10 GG#4's made it so I sank the 6 Sharpiez as replacements.

I'll start posting regularly when these hit flowering.........

I'm also letting everyone know if I hit the Powerball for $1.4 Billion tonight, I am immediately shutting down and moving to Hawaii. Goodbye.
You'll know soon.

If we hit, I have to decide whether to wake the wife and let her know or just let her rest and tell her when she gets home from work tomorrow.

Been thinking about the seed sprouting issues and have decided I'm going to automatically scrape all my seeds with a little light sandpaper before hand.........this increases the seeds ability to absorb water and crack the shell more easily. I usually find a little match box and put some light sand paper in it and just shake it a bit to do the scraping. I've used this before with good success.

Sharpiez- Permanent Marker X Zoap- 8-9 week flowering, average yielder, seriously stinky. Lit Farms gave these to me free to replace a few Permanent Markers that did not sprout. I didn't ask for them, they just offered these to me when they found out a few of the P.M. didn't sprout last year. Can you find the seed?

And they say when a plant is pollinated it puts it’s energy into making seeds than bud development.doesn’t appear to have stopped development in that pic….that’s what I was told anyway.

Old timers just speculating .

that looks grouse 👌1C69FD3A-224B-4D88-913F-EE826D2EB234.jpeg

Sorry, I did Rainbow Marker, not Permanent Marker. That was Rainbow Sherbert #11 x Permanent Marker. It stunk too but I really enjoyed smoking it. I still have 1 more Permanent Marker hybrid to do, maybe next cop.
