Hey folks, Not sure if y'all do this but when an order is delivered and you have Alexa, you get a chime letting you know your order was delivered.
If you respond to the chime by saying "Alexa, thank my driver" the driver gets a good report and now during the holiday season they're giving drivers a $5 bonus when you do it. You can also thank your driver on the web if you don't have alexa.
Amazon pays that five bucks too so nothing out of pocket for you.
Personally, I love this and am trying to get my drivers paid as much as possible since they take such a load off my shopping errands and spending Jeff Bezos' money for him makes me happy

I'd totally do it, but my Amazon guy is just the mail man and he's a douche.

Is this something that you can do later in the day or is there a time limit?

is this the same as complimenting your driver from the PC? if so i've been doing this for years now.

if it's not it sucks for my drivers because i will never have a device in my home that listens to every word spoken.

USPS is in "contract" neogiations as the the current proposal only offers a 1.2 % cost of living adjustment, Big "No" from most workers. Crazy alcohol abuse admitted by President of the Union?

I'm pretty sure it's 14 days after time of delivery

I think so.
Yeah same here and I've only heard her reply about the $5 thing once when a driver hit a threshold of compliments during the Summer and got a $5 bump but now they're doing the $5 on every delivery.
Not too worried about having multiple Alexas in my home. Voice control on everything is real nice and the bitch don't listen to me half the time anyways so I have to yell and cuss at her. I call her a liar and ask if she's spying on me too. We argue often.
;smoke

I could never have an Alexa in my home. I have a problem with my fooking phone listening to me constantly trying to sell me shit. I am starting to think there is some kind of tech in our phones that can read our minds, no joke. How can it advertise me things I’m thinking about? It’s getting kind of scary, black mirror type chit.

I have alexa everywhere. My whole house is automated from my shades to my garage door.

I just constantly pump misinformation into her. Like this morning I said to my wife I really hope they don't catch me for shooting the CEO in NY. I have also had long conversations with Bin Laden. I also sold a pound of hi grade cocaine last week. To a priest who diddles kiddos.

I'm not on any social media at all other than this. Without that tie in, the damage she can do is pretty limited.

Besides, if you have a cell phone and think you are not being tracked - you are fooling yourself.

I was watching a podcast with a hacker and he said that pretty much everything smart is sending the info to China. He said his smart vacuum mop was sending info to China.

We don't get Amazone drivers any longer, a new company called Dragon fly and they are now delivering 7 days a week. All East Indian drivers, Turban wearing Sikhs mid 20's. Great service smiling friendly guys. I'd guess about 1 year now they've been at it.

That's why I love the Chinese data mining.
Like my cat just threw up in the hallway. A good gag fest. Even Hawk Tua girl would be impressed by what I heard coming out of that cat.
So if Xi wants to listen in on that, I say go for it. Suck on that cat puke all you want Commie!

I got one as a Christmas gift and regifted it, no way no how do I want robots talking to me in my house passing on info I want private to whomever has the best hacking skills......no cell phone either.

I did buy one but couldn't figure it out, too many gadgets and buttons, every time I touched the fkin thing it did something else but I couldn't figure out how to answer phone calls fast enough to catch them. it took me 3 days to figure out I needed a tiny fkin chip in it to work so I bought one and it still didn't work, apparently I had to register the fkin thing, then there was no way to find my phone number on it. I think I let the little chip thingy run out of power and it now sits, dead. I back to phones that hang on the wall

I tried living without a cell phone when I realized we were being spied on. I couldn’t do it. Life is too hard without a phone. I was a little paranoid but eventually figured “fook it”. I have nothing to hide. I hate it but what can you do? Unless you want to live like a recluse I don’t think it is possible.

I've never needed to be tied to a phone. You're always home???? fk that, calls playing golf? at the store? wtf I can make decisions on dinner without yaking on a phone, I'll be home in 5 min??? lol we had independence could walk a block without having to yak at someone...not today, If you were talking to your self out walking when I was young the white suits came to take you away....its still needed they are just overwhelmed with people walking into phone poles...( those things that hold up the wires for you nubes )

My cell phone does not work at home.
That's the story and I am sticking to it.;giggle
I have a land line still [ yes that old and stuck in the past]. Funny not many people have the number though. Just family and close friends.
Last time at work I actually answered my phone [ I knew they would call that day so kept it close] I was thanked for answering~! No joke.
I take my phone with me. I keep it in my cooler, not on my person. I might check it once a day after I get up in the morning.
If a vendor needs a phone number to sell to others I always list my cell. I never answer it if it does not say your name and I know it. Never.

This was me until after covid.
When the world went contactless, smart phones and qr codes became the new normal for me. Everything from tix to concerts and sporting events to time sheets to performance evals and medical shit all went digital.
Coupons at the grocery store are even digital now.
Banking has changed the same way from apps like digital wallets and tap to pay I rarely handle any cash and the only time I see coins are if one is on the ground.
In some ways it's a great improvement and others it's sketchy. I could live without my phone for personal use as I'm not a chatty Kathy. I never answer when it rings and in fact the ringer is off. Check texts 2x a day, early and late, and don't ever use it for social media or any of that stuff.

Really today a smart phone is more of a tool than something I use for fun. Almost a necessary evil. And like Steam I still have a landline simply because of old school thought that "Well if they wanna hear me on this one, they'll need a warrant to tap it"
But that was also young me thinking that way. Old me is like fuck it. Try to hem me up. Trial by jury motherfuckers. It will cost them way more to prosecute than what my garden could ever be worth + my shit aint for sale so the only crime really is cultivation. Busting somebody like me is not how cops climb the ladder and get promotions. Locking up cartel gangbangers and busting human trafficking rings are much more their thing in this region.
