A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

Growing cannabis by candlelight again, it's a new thing I'm starting! 😂🤣😂

Snowed all Thanksgiving day and overnight at 34°, 8" of wet snow, heavy like concrete and sticks like porridge🤦🏻

Lost power early evening last night got it back on about noon today. the lineman do a great job here

It makes my heart start skipping beats, fluttering.....its like arachnophobia to me I got that winter dread. another heavy sigh...I know its coming, snow plow driver called yesterday....fk I'm not good at this winter sht....pretty sad for a Canadian....eh?

We got about 8 inches yesterday but kept power. A heavy wet snow also.
Snapped a 4-5 inch thick maple branch in front yard and one pine from neighbor.
Feels like winter officially arrived yesterday.

I hear you, this was a tough one this early, even folks from here were surprised

It looked like a war zone this morning, there were trees down everywhere and last night they were reports of multiple accidents and cars off the road 😕

Two different strains & they're just sitting there 😡 To those who don't know me this is not my first grow, I wish this was something I was doing wrong, but it's not

I'm flipping them tonight to get rid of them. I've got some Captain Red Beard ordered I'm anxious to try, so time to cut my loss and get this GPS crap out of the tent

It's a shame what's happened to Greenpoint, last time I bought from them during the cowboy period & it was straight fire, but now you can keep it!

There's 10 seeds of each left, a total of 20 seeds of Green Points Onyx Cookies & Purple Crash, if anybody wants them PM me and I'll mail them to you (usa only)

When plants stop growing I think heat, Whats your lights on temp? I see you have snow and cold, are they getting a cold draft? Are they breathing and going through water? VPD?
They look good but they've been slow from the start haven't they? I just flipped mine 2 nights ago. I shut the Far Red lights off. I have as much pre flower stretching as I want. You've been at this a long time I think you'd have fun with the reds, the leaves really benefit from it.

The conditions are ideal, 68-72°

They would like 80f lights on temp better from my experience if you are running LEDS.

I bet they would, but they're not going to get it in Maine in the winter 😂🤣😂

That's about what temps were when I started them, 78-82°f, they still sucked.

I've grown from upper 50s (to bring out color) to low '90s (broken a/c) and I've never seen plants act like this

I'm over it, don't care anymore, can't wait to get these out of the tent. Should have culled them a month ago like I said I was going to, my bad.

Edit: no leds, HID w/ brand-new MH bulb

I'll be picking up my first led for this coming July and August to cut down some of the heat because I seldom use air conditioning, I don't like it. Even back home I only used to air condition the grow room.

I'll be asking you for a recommendation this spring because you seem very happy with your lights and I trust your recommendation

68f-72f??? they aren't house plants they would like warmer temps. 78f is ideal leaf temp...72f????? too cold. they'll live but not thrive and maybe why they are short. I add a 150watt reptile lamp in my veg tent and a 1200 watt oil filled heater in my flower tent running with lights on only. House temps drop to 68f overnight which is fine with lights off.

As I mentioned above for the first month or so they were 78 to 84°. One of the four is a mutant, they are not great genetics

I've been growing for 20 years, you've known me for almost half of that and I'm telling you these plants stalling like that is something I've never seen before.

I'm done talking about it friend they're in bloom and I'm going forward from here.

I get it, yes. deal with what you got, alls good. I've a mutant growing as well 5 out of 6 growing as they should, 1 is looking rough, not sure what strain she is I lost my tags...again...calling her my cabbage patch girl, wrinkly fat leaves and late bloomer, she didn't pop out of her shell well and I had to coax her out. I thought I'd messed her first leaves up but nope its all on her now.Nov 29 cabbage patch.JPG

Oh I like that one! That's better than my mutant, my mutant just sits there 🥱

They're going to get watered in a couple hours, I'll grab a picture of my mutant then.

Didn't used to grow the mutants out (didn't have many) but I figured what the hell 🤷🏻 This is just a test run, trying to tweak things in the new house, gonna take a few runs

I've got a couple of those reptile lights but it's going to have to drop a couple more degrees before I start using them

Got a minor blizzard going on right now, 5 to 7" cold, snowy winter coming

Morning Beachwalker~!
Morning is my favorite part of the day also.
I let go of yesterday and no one has screwed up today yet~! ;hop

Good morning! Always have been a morning person, and even though we have some pretty nice sunsets here the sun rises are spectacular too

Being from the inner city now retired to the country, every morning when I open the curtains and see forest in every direction I thank God!

I'm so grateful to have finally gotten out of the city, it's a blessing beyond words

So once again I'm growing cannabis by emergency lighting! 🌱🕯️

Well shut my mouth and call me corn pone!😂🤣😂 (he's loosing it)

The good news is that with this new little French press I was able to successfully make coffee without electricity

Although this outage was only for a few hours, that last one that lasted a day and a half or so taught me that I had to find a way to make coffee during a blackout, so I'm pretty stoked about that 🐸☕

Edit: I just realized I missed my last weekend update but you can look at the last picture, it's pretty much the same

I lost power this last week which is pretty rare for me.
I lose power once every two years, besides momentary lapse.
Could have been 3-4 hours by me but was more likely only 1 hour.
Happens all the time here because of a zillion trees hanging over the power lines on every road.

Was looking into a generac whole house generator, still am, although now that I can make passable coffee I'm somewhat placated for the time being ☕🐸

I am so pleased to see tree guys in my town every other fall/winter under contract to clear the lines.
I hate Gov't but love my town and how they spend my money. They seem smart to contract in down time. Even in prevailing wage states.
I have a portable gen and have looked at Generacs. I need to stop buying toys~!
Was too lazy to even think of getting the portable going.
In my mind I said I would go to hotel if power did not turn back on and it was too cold~! Never done it before but only have a cat and the wife and they would be fine~! :p

Got roughly around $1200 worth of professional tree removal done last week for free because a tiny little offshoot was touching my drop and causing voltage to drop to 108.
I called the day after Thanksgiving and they assessed within 30 minutes and crews were climbing the tree in less than two hours. Good time to call because they had no work and were bored so they sent two crews.
When a branch from the same tree fell onto my line two years ago, they dropped the branch and left it then told me to hire a crew to do the rest. I waited it out and got them to come back for free. Well I suppose not really for free but it did offset those high electric bill over the Summer 😉

That's kind of what I tell myself as well, because I'm prepared for long-term off grid if need be, but when it's off for just a few hours or a few days it's no big deal
