i haven't cooked with adobo sauce much and only had it a handful of times in other peoples dishes and i liked it, it added a unique flavor to the chili, don't think i'll add it every single time but it will make the rotation for sure!!! i don't know how they manage to can up smoke like that but t's good!!
It's the chipotle bringing the smoke
They're jalapenos but are picked when they turn red and smoked to dry them out. They take on a totally different flavor that's deep and smokey.
Adobo sauces vary so play around with different brands and maybe even DIY to customize that flavor.
We also use it in a base for mole, or I should say my wife does, and if there's one thing about mole is the recipes run a full spectrum from something that's chocolaty, to cinnamony, to robust and savory. We prefer that third one for both the chicken and mole dish she makes and beef or cheese enchiladas I make and my chilis.
Man I am so happy with the expansion and remodel of my grocery store. It's now a flagship store and the selection is insane. It's a Disney Land for foodies. I use the small carts when I go in because if I used the large carts, I'd fill it up and overspend badly.
In the seafood section I saw conch! Now conch chowder is on my radar. Also saw some beautiful snapper and ahi tuna so now I know where to go when I try my shot at making sushi.
While looking for my rye bread, I saw east coast hoagie rolls I used to have to order online.
In meats, ribeye already shaved razor thing in packs big enough for two fatty cheesesteaks. More brisket choices than I've ever seen in my life. Even a cajun meats section with things like turduckens and crawfish pies.
And while looking for hot stuff I've never seen or knew existed, I hauled in this bounty
The store is way different from any grocery store I've been too as well.
For parking, it's a 3 story garage but there's little red or green lights above every space so you can look over across 100s of cars and find the open spots. This fucks with people but I figured it out pretty quick and have an awesome routine and can get in or out in seconds.
There's a BBQ restaurant on the first level then the actual store is on the second level so they have people and cart escalators with employee assistance or 4 massive elevators for several people with carts to fit in each one to get you up into the store.
It probably sounds crazy but compared to stores with massive parking lots where you might walk a ways this makes it so it's almost all front row parking with ez access between car and store.
Then the store itself is huge. Like the size of one of those super walmarts but it's all groceries. The new selection is mind blowing! There's even a wall of hot sauces!
