Cornwood deck underlayment rusting

Ended up buying another 175 bucks worth of wood, so the lighter stuff towards the front is new. I primed all the steel, but didnt actually paint. However the deck will have 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of Berger Syntex. The guys slide all the old soldiers under the deck to repent. Final pic coming. Psyched by how they shored up all the old stuff while adding those 9 cement buckets.20240811_081204.jpg20240812_091058.jpg20240814_103627.jpg

looks awesome man!!!! you should really seal the metal in paint, primer doesn't seal and still lets moisture in. self-etching primer would also be best if you could. but if you can still paint it i would. not sure if you can get truckbed liner paint there but that would be the best. but ANY paint would be better than no paint when it comes to the primer coating.

it kinda looks like i'm too late though, those metal workers should have known that, bad on them for not telling you.

Isn’t that what the “Berger Syntex” is?

No that's just for the deck boards, at least that's what I read lol
Yes, 2 coats of Syntex atop 2 coats of primer. This guru magician came back to tackle back and front roof problems (which I have already displayed). Here's where we are with my friend who grew up in San Bernadino 20240820_163228.jpg20240820_163248.jpg
