I went grocery shopping today.....

Sohum is the lightest stuff I have tried yet.
I mixed it with Pro Mix and Coast of Maine Stonington [ not light at all].

I understand you can mix FFOF with Happy Frog for a decent soil mix, cooking soil, and mixing alot has my back in guard. Sohum, Build a Soil, Roots many to try, huh? SS

I was using a 50/50 blend of HF and FFOF for a few years before I discovered Roots and other blends.
Honestly though with all the work of making a soil and yeah bad back, age, lack of time, I say to Hell with it and just buy it.
Every now and then I'll grab a bag of Happy Frog but I've steered away from using Ocean Forest. OF has sand it in it and seems to hate my water and room but I'm groovy with the peat based Happy Frog.

Are you seeing Fox Farm stuff at the HEB near you? Their prices are actually better than the hydroshop here and they store it inside unlike the other garden center here that keeps it outside with not even a carport style cover or even a tarp to cover it.

But so far I've only seen one HEB stocked up like that with Fox Farm stuff and it's a big new one less than 3 years old.

If you don't have a hydro shop near you you can order soil from some of the Home Depots and Lowes stores.

only the bx
Thats what i use, i add 3 cu ft of perlite to each 3.8 cu ft compressed bale.
Basically my way of getting my hands on HP without spending so much.

Bx is 56 a bale here, HP is $150, +freight shipping so like 300+ dollars for dirt.....

I was adding perlite as well until I tried Coco Loco which has perlite and it does help with moisture retention. I water less now. SS

No I haven't as of yet, these stores/warehouses use an "Isle programmer" of sorts to re-arrange the store for new products so maybe soon, I am out of FF Big Bloom now. Happy New Years Bandit,SS

How do you like the coco loco? Is it comparable to other soils as far as nutrient content in the soil, etc.?
