I received the olive wood I ordered and a small pack of ....shall we cheap mouse pieces...I've hit the bottom on price and quality..now I know where the bottoms at and what they look like.

My $6.50 mini lathe is not what it seems I apparently ordered a mini saw blade, misleading advertising and web design had me looking left when I shoulda looked right, The lathe is around $50 + parts lol...I shoulda known better....at least I didn't order the $2,50 table saw.....lololive.JPG

That sucks PC. But ya, these days you know there is a catch. Your lucky if you get what you DID pay for.

Can’t wait to see what you make. 👍

I finely got my girls into their final pot and in my 5x5 under led but not without some struggles of course. Somehow I lost / misplaced the net pots I was using as air domes, I had 2 and the other 2 were missing so I made some covers to go over the air stones. My first one I made out of an old Monster Bloom tub I just drilled holes in it the next was a 1 cup measuring cup with the handle snapped off then I burned a few holes in it.

I put all the pots in their bases but I noticed a small blue silicon pad was missing. I can order more for $.50 each $24 shipping plus $3.50 tax = too fking much for a tiny pad. I took a leather punch and punched out a few round pads out of the hose line and stacked 3 in the pad hole then crazy glued them in place. I'm not sure it will work or not but I have it at the end of the line if there's issues I can just cap it off and wait until I can make an $100 order for free shipping.

My pipe making has been on hold as I wait for stems I've ordered in the mean time I;ve been looking for deals on wood lathe's. The trouble with a wood lathe is the added tools need to use a lathe, chucks, face plates & chisels with another mini grinder for sharpening the chisels.

I've 2 models of lathe's I'd like but only 1 is available in my area, The Rikon from Lea Valley for $499 with a quality chisel set included is advertised but unavailable. But this Craftex looks nice and on sale 1700250917269.pnggroupshotv.JPGGruntzV.JPGVeg closet.JPG

My plants are doing well I'm going to turn on the Auto Pots tonight, let them run for another week and flip. I'll pull each one out and trim them up instead of the wild growth I let get away from me last time.

I got my new Lathe and I've been working on setting it up. A bit awkward but I think I have it set. I stole my plant table it fits perfectly and its has space to drill holes for tools to slip through. Its a bit short but I'll add a 4x4 block under each foot and that should be about right.

A new set of Carbide tipped tools, pricey but sharpening the standard set intimidated me. There's only a few YT videos showing carbide tool work for beginners and how to properly use them, there is some background experience expected with all of them and high speed turning tools

I kinda expect something to go wrong through the learning curve I hope doesn't send me to the emergency room. I hate that place waiting with stupid people that have done stupid things...its fking embarrassing to be sitting among them, blood leaking crying babies, the occasional drunken , puking alcoholic they all know by name.....I wander.....and I'm going to go IMG_6268.JPG4jawscrollchuck.JPGcarbide tools.JPGlathespecs.JPGnov25group.JPGLathe.JPGplay with some high speed tools.........lol......

I gotter dun, Auto pots on, no leaks all water at a stable level. I fed them all 4/5/4/4/1 Micro/Grow/Bloom/Diamond Nectar/ Hyclean. Thanks to @OLDCRO for the silicon pads, A blue one was lost but the red fits and the blue replacement pads are a bit too big, if I had ordered the blue I'd of needed to cut them to make them fit

well shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! something leaked, drained my reservoir and burned out my submersible pump overnight. Now I need to find another pump today somewhere close. It looks like a valve failed and wouldn't shut off.

Work to do its always something.

It looks like it was dirty, I top fed while the pots where in the trays and with full soil some splashed into the valve, perlite blockage. So I cleaned it up and I'm hoping that'll do it.

I thought the blue was for the top as well but its too big IMG_6280.JPGIMG_6281.JPGIMG_6282.JPGIMG_6283.JPG

I hope that did the trick not fun cleaning up a res dump
it wasn't that valve that failed either, That is the last valve in my system and the second tray over filled and ran out 6 gal of feed I'd put in last night. Now I'm running my water through the chiller to warm it up before I turn it on again. My water was 60f so with the pump running it through the chiller set at 70f in a few hrs it'll be warm enough to turn on. I was a bit worried last night after lights out. I'd like to be able to watch it work through the day to make sure shit like this doesn't happen but I was anxious to get them started. ah well no real loss except the 6 gal of nutes.. I sucked it all up and cleaned them up so we'll see today how it goes.

Its still leaking from somewhere. I pulled the pot I replaced the silicon pad in to see if my leak would stop with only 5 hooked to the system, no such luck it still leaks so I've pulled another and capped it off. I'll have to keep pulling pots until I find the one that is causing this problem, My plants are getting feed through the bottom as is it just won't stop flowing with all valves closed. Work to do I guess.

Paper towel placed under pots will show the leak quick.
its my auto pot system, A reservoir with 1 line linked to 6 pots with 6 valves, I repaired 1 valve with a silicon pad so after I turned on and found water I pulled it cleaned it and watched to see if the water levels would maintain or keep rising and they kept rising, indicating to me the one I pulled isn't the problem, so I pulled another, capped it off to see if that would fix it, nope I'm on pot 3 now and its not looking good Its real slow so I gotta give it time but if it rises over a mark I've made then onto Number 4...if they all fail I'll start 1 up at a time and see if I can find out wtf is going on.

Right on PC, good to see you back at er. Pipes are looking nice and sharp 🤙

I still haven't tracked down the culprit tray. Yesterday I pulled them all out 1 by 1 and with 5 of 6 hooked up I still got leaks. Now I'm reversing the process and hooking them up 1 by 1, second tray failed and I'm on the 3rd. Once I can identify the trays with problem I can try and fix it. I've already wasted gallons of food leaking onto my tent floor enough's enough

Could the float valves need to be cleaned?
If they don't close/seal properly that would cause overflow.
I've had them apart each time I change one out, clean it look at it put it back in. I don't quite get how these valves work, when the water is low the valve has its pad on an air hole but soon as water lifts the valve and the air hole is exposed. so the only time the float drops low the air hole is sealed...???? that seems backwards but?? that's how its designed....... I have 4 hooked up now and I'm waiting for it to level out ...or leak...3 worked then I jumped the gun added another 2 and ............leak. now I'm waiting for #4

#4 held back to 5 again with my repaired valve one out only.....Funny I pulled it first, cleaned it and replaced it.

Thanks I needed that, it seems that my outer floats rise up and they shouldn't be, I need to absorb this and figure it out. I had 4 working then I added the 5th and my floats started to rise & leak so I've shut it off for now and I'll get at it again tomorrow.

I pretty much took yesterday off,I caught up on some emails and smoked the day away. Today however I got at it again and I have my cut light up, on and levelled off. after I got the driver on only one side light came on. wtf. I had to pull it down and make sure my splices were good and put it back together. I couldn't find anything wrong so I rehung it and everything works.

I cut 2 black wires and spliced 2 short lengths of wire onto the 2 I cut in order to cut the light apart it had to be cut. when I put them back together I may have got it backwards, it normally doesn't matter or they'd be different colors but It may have mattered so I switched wires this time while I had it apart and it works.

It really lights up my 5x5 better and gives me much better coverage, I'll have 900 watts of light available when I need it.

I have 4 pots working and 2 that aren't. I've isolated the 2 and I have my reservoir on without leaks, Now to find out wtf is going on with the floats...tomorrow.
