My son just visited NY city and actually said he felt safe!

Upstate is a different world.

Peonies?

My veg garden was not planted last year, due to working constantly. It happens to be where I dump used soil from my grow, so there's a thick layer of soil + perlite + peat. Well, newly weaned cottontails found it easy to dig and nice and cozy.

But my wife, being much more orderly than I am, decided to weed it, using a drain spade.

Within about 10 minutes, she chopped a paw off one of them while in its burrow, and another ran off, screaming into the woods. She swore off using a spade for weeding after that.
