Stoney's Luv Shack

Reading your mind you are thinking no slow flip here.
It might help both of us in many ways how I see it.
At first I thought no slow flip this time but it may be the best of both worlds in this case?
I am dropping to 17 hours tomorrow.
Only problem for me with complete slow flip is the clones. I don't want to flip them.
Maybe around 14 hours I pull the 2 in the tent out and get the clones back to 18/6.
Need to figure some half assed made up not so slow flip~!
Maybe do 2 hours a week?
That would be 16 tomorrow and 14 next weekend.
Maybe that would not affect the clones as much.

yeah i was kinda thinking a hard flip... but my gut says to drop 2 hours a week for a three week flip... i really was thinking about it, funny when you mention it!!!!

probably get a little stretch, which i kinda want right now...
it would only take three weeks till 12/12 that way and i think can wait three weeks no matter how fast or slow the grow.
i really embraced the slow flip last time and liked having the extra time to grow a bigger plant. but last time i was growing for strength. this time my plants arn't scrawny just short...

IDK man!!! my head is spinning on it... i know the longer i wait i will be forced to do a hard flip. right now i still have the option... i need to sleep on it!! but there is a chance i will take two hours off tomorrow night!!

They said OSHA would have a problem he took his gloves off~!
They said Nascar felt differently~!:ROFLMAO:
I watched the race.
Wonder what the fine will be?

hahaha i was thinking man that's some good wall art he's trashing!!!

i hope nascar lets him slide... just a slap on the wrist. goys used to come at each other with jack handles so a plastic body panel ain't to bad imo.. let him go!!!

Since the helmet throwing thing the guys at wrecks usually keep the drivers in line. Years now?
These guys today watched him do it~!
They watched him rip it off his car and track down the #4.

yeah you're right i guess... maybe if it would have just been laying there... at least he hit the target though, some guys miss and still get scolded!!!

nothing beat stewarts two handed helmet throw!!!!!

mainliners are doing better... here a side x side from last saturday night till now...

i still don't know if they're big enough to flip yet... i just don't know what to do.. one minute i say go for it now and next i'm saying wait it out... IDK...

growing fairly even though...

seen a couple seedlings popping up today.... :)

.

richmond tomorrow night!!!!! i love night racing!!!! i've been to a richmond night race a long time ago... long time now..

tomorrow night though.... pole sitter #5!!!!!!

giphy.gif

They all look great man and good luck with that choice!!🤘

flippin out!!!

ya know i believe Bandit flips at the time of upcan or shortly after not even waiting the full week.

the main reason i waited was because they didn't look that good, now that they're better i'm now getting the itch. i'm not gonna, but i want to dammit!! haha

i was a little disappointed last round with some plants being so small and such a small yield but then i was thinking this time i will have three plants of each strain so maybe none will be a small jar.. hoping anyway!!

Yep I do a hard flip and upcan on the same day. To add more to that I also do a minor clean up and defol of baby parts that day as well. Also do a heavy inoculation.
For me it's a matter of convenience combining a large amount of work into one day or event and also I prefer to throw all the stress I'm gonna throw at them at one time rather than string it out. There may be up to one day of shock then after that they take off and go bonkers

just saw this now catching up from today...

get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

I highly approve of throwing sheet metal at cars!
Classic and that's why I love watching NXS racing. From Josh Williams parking it last year to that sheet metal toss you never know what kinda crazy road rage shit you'll see 🤣

Thanks brother!! i'm really happy with the way they're growing right now.. i ordered a net for support, that will be a first for me!!

.

ya know man we gotta tell those guys, hey throw it over the fence next time!!! so we can pick it up!!!!! hahahaha i've seen drivers do that at pocono, i think it's against their rules now.

.

something has my tail wagging today....

12 for 12...

food for thought - here's what the farmers almanac says about that.

I like the organization of the VG a ton!
Good luck with the net! You get the nylon or plastic? I'm not a fan of the nylon at all and is why I went with DIY hemp wick. You gonna SCROG it all or just use to stop excessive leaning and keep all the towers in their lanes?

The sheet metal toss reminded me of a couple Michael McDowell fans at COTA last week...
Friday night they announced a ton of autograph signings at the haulers. You basicvally had to be there Friday or Saturday to get a wrist band then Sunday the wrist band got you a spot in line for an autograph and that's how my wife met Suarez.
MM was on the list to sign at the Ford Performance hauler.
These two dudes brought in a couple door panels for him to sign. But they were like the entire side panel minus the fenders so they were each about 2'x6' in size. Freaking huge! But it was pretty cool because everybody who could help, helped the pair get those panels to the haulers for MM to sign. From tram drivers to gate people to parking lots people, they all helped with that goal. And wouldn't ya know it, they got 'em signed.
MM did huge signatures across them too like he was tagging them with graffiti and not just a tiny signature nobody could see. They were so happy taking them back to their car and it was like every worker along the way was congratulating them. Without all that help those kids woulda struggled mightily.

LMAO at the Farmers Almanac. 🤣
That damn thing is only good for trying to set a date for an outdoor wedding, festival, or something like that so you can fairly predict you won't get rained out. It's still so hit and miss though, might as well flip a coin. COTA uses it to set the date for that race weekend and we saw how well that worked out in '21.
As far as a guide for planting, it always got this reaction from me

200w.gif

Reminds me of an episode of Green Acres when all the farmers were going by Fred Ziffels wife, Doris and her Lumbago. If her Lumbago was flaring up they all would plant wheat but if not then they should plant corn. Meanwhile Oliver was trying to use the almanac but the Lumbago was more accurate even though she was lying about it to get out of chores 😋

BTW NASCAR got another new fan at COTA. 😋
IDK if you saw it or not but there was a Longhorn Takeover to start the race during the invocation and green flag drop to start the race.
Chatted it up with him last night about it and the Football HC had only been to oval races up until then. When he dropped the green and saw them haul ass up that hill into Turn 1 his mind was blown. He was all giddy talking about it last night. And he's been to 'Dega! So once again, COTA did it and brought in another new fan to the sport!🥳

that lid worked pretty slick for the XLVG... not perfect, it needs a little tweaking but not much. i originally put holes in tabs to maybe make two clamshell covers to hinge open on each side but with the pocket in the bottom holding the wavy piece in place the slip on cover worked just fine. at first i didn't even take the cover off, just plucked the seedlings from the top, till i tore a root.. then i opened the lid for the last three. once i took the lid off i saw just how easy it was without it and don't really think i need the clamshell deal. i just got more filament so i plan to fix the drawing and print another one out for a test. i'll send it to Steamroller if it works good, he needs something that can germinate 22 at a time!!

btw, the torn root is just fine and growing well!!!!:D

.

so the net i bought is an elastic. i bought two... my thinking was i have 14 plants with eight tops,, two of them only have 7.. so thats 110 tops. the net i have has 11 x 11 square openings at 3.5" so thats 121 openings.. if i skip some of the four corners i should have just about the right amount!!

i don't have a clue as to how well it will work or even at all. these plants are short so i'll need to be on my knees for most of it, we'll see how long that lasts or how fussy i get after an hour or so of trying to get it in there without breaking branches.... i plan to take out all the plants, attach the net for the back row and then lift the net slightly to slide each plant under one by one, then repeat this for the next row and so on...

if you or anyone else has any other ideas i'm all ears???

so it won' be a real scrog, just a fishnet bra to hold the buds!!! hehe i hope!

.

i have never watched an episode of green acres... only saw the opening song as a kid, once the show started i was out,,

yep, that would be the most of any green acres i've ever seen!!! 😮

man that bug will get ya!!! especially in texas where everything is bigger including those bugs!!!!! hehehe

what i don't get from it is if he was already at dega how the hell did he not get the nascar bug then??? that place is like the grand pupa of nascar!!! that infield is the biggest and baddest party on the circuit!!!!!!!

thats a great story about the guys getting the mcdowell panels signed,,, we did a similar thing here with a buddies rusty wallce hood he had. he got it signed at an old track not used anymore called nazareth PA.. super short track within twenty minutes of me... formula 1 even raced on that tiny track!! but we carried his hood through the parking area to get it signed by crusty himself... he shook my hand, i was rudd fan, not a crusty fan!!! it would be like the other wallace shaking your hand!!!! man what's with the wallace's in nascar!!!! hahaha

IDK man there's just something about COTA! Like I'm not sure I'd be all in the way I am if my first race woulda been at TMS.
And for him when your VIP you don't do the tailgating scene, you're hanging out with suits and celebrities and COTA was really built for that with the F1 scene.

But I can't believe you've never seen GA!!! People liked it for Arnold the pig but Oliver and the Farmers are my jam. I can't even begin to tell you how many episodes fit the life of a pot farmer and some of the kooky shit we do. That's why my wife dubs me "My husband the rooster renter" sometimes. :ROFLMAO:And Oliver's "American Farmer" speeches are so dang funny!! I like it so much my dog is named Oliver after him.
I'd say seasons 1-4 are where it's at then after that it had pretty much ran it's course.

I tend to set my net 2/3 of the way thru stretch so the main colas are slightly above it and held in place then the secondaries will grow up thru it. And yeah I use it kinda like how outdoor growers use it just to keep branches from falling over. I won't do the scrog thing...too much hassle and work for me and I like to keep things ez and speedy.

The only thing that might kinda suck is harvest. I cut my nets away from the plants but you'll probably want to save your net so you'll be doing a sort of basket weaving getting branches out of it at harvest

definitely man, i thought the same thing when i first saw COTA online, it had that total F1 vibe and the track looked fast just sitting there still!!!

seeing a race from the infield is way better than the stands!!!! i understand coach ain't that style but infields sure do fit us!!! i'm sure you'll get to an infield race soon enough, you'll know!!!! it's gotta be on the roof of an rv or bus though.. if not it's tough to see anything better than the stands.. on a bus trip roof though man you see the whole track at some places!!!

dover is a great place to see a race from the stands, almost not a bad seat in the house there!!! bristol, richmond martinsville, all good seats to see all corners and straights..

i'm sure it shocks you as much as me hearing you never saw seinfeld or friends.. next think i know you'll tell me you never watched big bang theory either!!! 🤩

man you really know how to scare a guy out of trying a net!!! hahahaha i'm gonna give it a try anyway, it might be the only time i try so why not. i never did before so i'll find out... but yes, harvest was big on my mind and how i'm gonna get the plants out... the net was $12 so if i gotta cut it no biggie.

i plan to set one in there now with about one or two inches of the buds sticking up through just aligning them all and if that actually looks decent and i can actually getthe net on the way i want i will flip right away!! and then IF my plants grow into big 18" monster looking colas, which i highly doubt, but if they do i'll use the second net i bought if that time comes. if they don't look big and heavy after a few weeks of flipped i won't even bother with the second net.

i'm don't think i will mainline again but i don't regret trying this one bit. it was fun and different and in the end i'm still gonna get some danky dank!! my setup isn't really tailored at all for mainlines and scrogs and like you, it's just not my style. but i really don't regret this at all!!!!!

the plants look good, i've learned some things about seedlings which is where i struggle the most anyway, and it's been keeping me on my toes which has been fun. it would have not been as fun if i didn't have that shelf in the veg cabinet man.. i wish you would have planted that seed years ago!!!!! hahahahahaha

so yeah it's all good i'm gonna try the net out and find out... how do you call it? FAFO?? just hope it's not a PITA!!! YOLO!!!🤓

pulled a late nighter....

001.JPG

had way less branches than i thought i had and probably could have went with the ACI net with less holes but it's in there now so no turning back!!!

got all kinds of blank holes though, we'll see how that works out...

002.JPG

i shaved their legs one last time... probably shouldn't have left so much growth under the net layer but i didn't think that far ahead when putting them in there so it is what it is...

004.JPG

but we got lots and lots of headroom!!!!! i put another set of hooks in right away for the top net in case i need it. i put them 12" above the first hooks. it's low enough that i can reach all the way to back row to organize or reposition if i need to so that was unexpected. thought i was once and done but i have some control yet.

and i officially flipped!!!!!! so after 10 weeks and 5 days of veg we are now week 1 day 1 of 12/12.. light spectrum was changed to pre flower and increased 10% for a total of almost 90% right now. (90R-90W-45B)

I think we popped sprouts right around the same time, right? Mine just went to flower last week, I believe.

Either way, we're running right alongside each other. I tried to cook mine tonight. Messed up my automations and ran the tent up to 100 degrees. 3.11 VPD. FOR SIX HOURS! WITH THE LIGHTS OFF!

Whoops 🤭

Anyone has to love road racing, I did it yesterday in my 2013 Twin turbo F-150 coming back from a liquor run. Road racing is for everyone, even Cannagranny!

Nope never saw BBT! But I did like 3rd Rock From The Sun a bunch.

If there's one thing I know about growing, is everything has it's own little caveat to it. No matter what, be it nets, poles, cages, or yoyos not one is absolute perfect.
I think you'll end up leaning on your cage experience when it comes to that net and harvest.

Experience with something is always valuable. Of everything I've tried I have zero regrets because I always learned something from it even if it was "I'm never doing that again!" type of experience.
Growing weed is just fun with all the shit we can do with it and ways we can grow it.
IMO mainlining looks ideal for keeping a mother plant and it does produce a very symmetrical structure. I'd like to see one mainlined and flowered outdoors. I bet that would be all kinds of awesomeness.

Take that plunge into hydro brother. I love me some hydro. Not with weed but with veggies and my berry tower. Hydro is also a very broad term as there's many different ways to do it. DWC is popular and done the most but there's many other types. I actually prefer flood & drain or aeroponics and of course aquaponics.
Push the limits on hydro-organics and see what's possible. You'll be amazed at the cross over of info. I'll tell you now my experience in hydro very much helped me be a better grower in organics and soils. I found my speed in hydro and totally applied it to soil to the point the dogmas and stereotypes about both are so blurred that line is nonexistent in my house.

Nice walk down memory lane there for sure!
Yeah I saw the whole team went ruby for M'ville. I like Bowmans scheme the best of all of them this week with the 5 a close second. The 24 is all kinds of eww. Shoulda went with yellow flames, not red on red.

Say man, I think you might like my city boy mower even though it is an EV....

Good to see the fish~!
When the deer went in all I could think was I hope he didn't rip/puncture your liner.
I figured you would notice if it did and didn't want to pass on bad karma~!

believe me man, i was staring at that water level for like five days after that happened. i've had a couple small leaks over the years but nothing real serious. it's the same as the roofing material you work with, made from EPDM.

i think i'm gonna open the pond up next week. gotta put cousin eddy back in.. i need something a little extra than just that filter this year. it had a tough time keeping up last years and i wasn't 100% happy... i don't really wanna go back to my big barrels but i might do some kind of hybrid filter for it. also i might just build the waterfall this year and plan to include extra filtering in that. might ask the neighbor to use his mini ex to move the big rocks around for a waterfall. the main bottom rock i want to use is over 300lbs.

You're going to hard pressed to match up to what your barrels were doing.
They were massive and flowed perfectly in a natural way.
A waterfall would be super cool~!
You got to build it big enough to hide the barrels in it~!

Love the Spring blooms but man cedar...I kinda have a love hate thing for them damn trees. Yours looks like a slightly different type but around here Western Red Cedar is growing everywhere and it's hell on allergies pretty much thru the whole month of February.
I was immune for almost ten years then I started to get cedar fever during mid winter and lemme tell ya it sucks bro!!! Worse than a cold but not as bad as the flu. Burning itchy and stinging eyes, congestion so bad I wear breathe right strips when I sleep and do Flonase like booger sugar. Nose bleeds sometimes too..Just brutal

Good luck getting that filter and falls built man. My pond is flipped over right now but I'm getting the itch to get it going again. Also been thinking about turning it into a dunk pool for Summer though. Kinda like a hillbilly redneck hot tub that doesn't get hot and instead I dump bags of ice in it to cool off , sip a frozen drink, and spark a fatty🤠

yep, tried to use the hard press to replace the barrels... just doesn't cut it though. i even put in a valve before the filter to slow it down to filter better but it still can't keep up with all those poppers in there. i need to get rid of 600 fish, that would help!!!! hahaha

the barrels really are the best, but there big, bulky, and an eye sore, and the worst part they can overflow!!!! i've lost more gallons than i can even count over the years from those barrels.

i was thinking of maybe getting a second cousin eddie and just put in a Y and another valve and tie the outlet together.. that costs money though.
the waterfall was my next option because i already bought the parts for it and have the filter material to incorporate.

my plan was a waterfall with three levels with two water drops and lights inside!!!! in my head it looks really awesome!!! i was going to put the filter part all the way at the top where it was easy to get to and no bending to lift out the heavy filter membrane. and it will be in flow after cousin eddie so i only need one size particulate to manage.. hopes for anyway!!!!!!!

i think before i go all in on it i am going to rig the sheet of filter i already bought and make a down and dirty attachment and see if the plan even works... that sound like a good idea. i need to pull out all the plumbing anyway and make sure that deer didn't damage anything going to the pump. i could see it all moving when he was kicking under water. so i need to check it all next week and probably make something quick on the end and see how i works.. the ponds pretty nasty right now so i'll know if it works or not in a couple days.

i get allergies most of the summer but more so in fall for some reason. congestion and constant nose blowings and clogs!! fun stuff!!! i never tried flonase, does it really work?

the only thing i'm thankful for is a normally only get my allergies in the morning and before lunch i'm breathing normal again. so i normally tolerate them without taking anything.

man you could host VIP seating in pool for movie nights!!!!!! :D

dude that would be so sweet if you could ever whisper a suggestion for your coach to reach out to SHR for a longhorn tour next year... bro you know those guys would go nuts when they saw you wall of art on the tour!!!! could be uber epic!!! could you imagine lunch with preece and briscoe... legendary!!
