The Psyche Gardens

Wasteful but

They'll blow up after, two colas to support and grow, demand will increase.

Lookin good over here Observer! I am close to harvest on Frosted Skywalker. Took a test bud 2 days ago. SS

I'm finally starting to "get it", besides having automated and consistent ENV...

Cleaned and topped em 2 days ago,

Give them another 2 weeks or so and see how much they fill out by then and probably go ahead and flip, take out males.

Half a tab down, and some shroom extract.

I wanted them to grow up past the bags a little so I can get between under easily for watering, give them some legs, bring the canopy up and let it go

Alot of room there, suppose I could have had the lights down(less PPFD) so they stretch more into it at the start.....you live and learn.....

Being overly critical

Just not happy with the open space

should be a fat canopy just a little above half way there...

What I'm going for anyways, if I dont lose 2 many males and topping makes

Got a bamboo lol

Daughter used to get them. When she moved the first time I kept it alive for the years. After she returned from BC she looked after it again, then took it with her to Quebec. Hardy if you keep an eye on them.

I’ve only seen wild bamboo grow on three properties up here. My grandmothers sandy driveway. 30 years later my mom had it at her first cottage growing in a garden patch by last owner, again real sandy soil. The last place was just some yard I drove by on the motorcycle up north.

Very shallow roots. No idea how they stand up to the wind and rain each summer since they grow so tall and thin.

Bamboo grows wild down here in Texas but it's considered highly invasive.
I know of a pretty good patch right now with some fat stalks I've been wanting to take for making bongs.
But yeah it grows and spreads so fast the only way to contain it is to dig a trench around the patch and fill the trench with concrete or dig it all up which cannot be done by hand and requires heavy machinery.
Makes a great natural privacy fence though. One of my neighbors uses it that way to skirt around building codes so she can have a 20' tall privacy fence surrounding her backyard

We built a long deck where they grew at my grandmothers. They never came up again.

Tried to transplant one from her prior cottage/home but it didn’t make it. I wanted it for privacy and a reminder.

We have goldenrod in patches along one fence. It can get 6’+ but bends. I’m using hollyhock this year too. Smell funky but look nice.

When I lived in Hawaii we used wild bambo to make outriggers for our boat. I caught several Marlin off bamboo outriggers. They do eventually break but it’s very easy to go chop more bambo. Wrap some eyes on and varnish it and bam back in business.

I see patches of bamboo even here on the coastal bend. Some people enjoy growing it, natural fencing is a good usage. Cheers

Never done it but it should be easy enough. Lots of cuttings go on sale for good luck every year. They seal the cut with wax like they do/did with rose bushes.
