LEDs can be ran directly above a canopy if properly dialed, this helps keep leaf surface temp in optimum range along side balancing AC usage, and using less power, being more efficient.

Important in scaling, reducing cost of production.

I’m using hlg lights on growflux controllers. With those controllers to set intensity and with my apogee I can let them get within inches of the leds without frying the bud. That light is at 30% drawing 2.6 kWh a day.

This is the way, plenty of power left over for demanding plants, reduces waste and cost, when all is balanced.
