love floyd though, listened that album more time than i can count. oz always seemed too weird for me, i know its a classic and all but always felt it was before my time so i just never watched it.

i have seen 2001 space odyssey though.. been a while, lot longer than it's been since i listed to the floyd album thats for sure!!

I grew up on Wizard of Oz and was my favorite when I was little. The transition from b&w was magic to me and it was kinda the first movie I could follow. Grew out of it by 8 and didn't watch it again for probably 2-3 decades.
Watched it again maybe 5 years or so ago when I bought it for $4 during Xmas to show my wife how they synced up.
The thing about that movie today is that back in the day on a 19" color Magnavox tube tv it worked. You play that fucking thing on a 4K Ultra and it is creepy AF!!! Might as well be a horror movie. All I can say watching it now is I can't believe this creepy shit was for kids!! 🤣

Wizard of Oz scared the shit out of me every year as a kid, The Flying Monkeys....stuff of nightmares My little Pretty

1st time I saw 2001 a Space Odyssey was in Toronto at the theaters stoned on lsd, couldn't understand a thing... lol . I think I was 17 ish,

Had hitch hiked from Vancouver with a few other guys syncing up at different cities along the way, 2 of us would hitch together, no money ill prepared 69...70..We were in Revelstoke the night Janice Joplin Died so when ever that was dates that adventure
 
Gotta new one but now I'm starting to think every Pink Floyd album will sync up with every movie ever made.
Last night I found that the Pulse Live Concert album syncs up with the movie Titanic. Yeah that one. The one that shoulda been called Jack and Rose go for a swim. Lines up perfect.
At the part of Shine On You Crazy Diamond when he sings "Remember when you were young?" lines up with old ass Rose looking at herself in that picture Jack drew the night they hooked up and went swimming. There's other parts too.

That movie scared the shit out of me as a kid.....every year.... fkin monkeys terrified me...every year...but it was like an event. The Wizard of OZ is on...I get to stay up late and get scared.

2001 is perhaps unwatchable for the first 10 to 15 minutes for me.
I just can’t deal with the whole long, drawn out ape murder thing.
Cut that to 15 seconds and the rest of the movie is killer!
I voiced that opinion a long time ago when I was a kid at a new job and some old fart really read me the riot act why the ape scene was just like real life.

Too much of the brown acid at Woodstock maybe!
