Plant growing too large in veg, is there a super-chop process?

I have a plant growing from seed that has progressed faster than I anticipated.
It is growing on my balcony, so I’m essentially using natures timing signals for moving into flower Phase.
.
That said, the past two years tells me, July 31 is the day to begin looking for preflower activity on this type of grow.
.
If I let this plant grow vegetatively for two more months, it’s going to be bigger than my house.
Is there a “super-chop” process that aims at reducing the plant to a very small footprint just before a serious veg grow?
The plant is a Sativa leaning hybrid that I grew from seed, it’s currently about 6 weeks old and getting ready to take over now and it hasn’t even thought about a stretch!

Super cropping, scrogging and pruning. You can chop down as far as you like or use one or combination of the other 2

Outside on the balcony of your house. So if you need to move it now is the time.

If leaving on the balcony I’d look at SCROG first. Make a PVC table.

You might have to LST or HST/Suoercrop first.

I’m in the same boat. That’s why Twin2 is outside. I just cracked all the new 6”-8” new growth at the beginning of the week. Now it’s pompom and doing great.

Just need to decide which direction I want to go in. Until then LST/HST.

It’s my Bay Area grow environment. No tent, low tech, balcony with open air flow, nature’s clock supported by LED lights.

It’s worked well the past two years, nothing crazy, occasional balls to eradicate because I’m open to local lighting, I’ve done as much as I can to protect my area, but it’s open to sky light conditions.

The best thing you could do to stay on the safe side is cover it with panda film every night starting like the 1st of august. Then you'll get complete darkness, and itll flower probably 2-3 weeks earlier. Plus then its just a covered object at night and less likely to get ripped on ya.
Just my 2 cents man. It would be work yes, but i think itll be very worth it.

My 2019 crop was outside on the balcony of our apartment. Across the street there was one of those security lights that can give a person a suntan in the middle of the night. We had 14 plants. They all grew and flowered normally. It was a good crop that we smoked for a long time. Looking back after almost a year on growing forums and reflecting on all that I've learned since then, I'm surprised they grew at all. They did, though. I never rule out dumb luck.

How much room do you have horizontally? If there's enough, then perhaps manifolding it might work.

I have a wire frame support in place for crates I can clip the burlap to on hot days. I was wondering it something like that would work.

You’re pretty much saying yes. I assume panda film is the black/white plastic rolls? Seems a bit much for outdoors? IDK.

Seems like a big undertaking if this plant gets big. Going to need to look at things one night and see what options I have. Camo burlap seems less obvious than other options and helps with air/moisture. But is it dark enough?

Cool. This is just a normal street light on a pole. I’ll check tonight and pic.

I already know that tents light leaks don’t mean instant death but no guarantees there either.

I was told moonlight is reflected light, it doesn't have the same affect as an artificial light. It's really dependent on the genetics, some will herm out, some won't be phased.

Moonlight really is not very intense. I would imagine the vast majority of street and/or flood lights produce more intensity. I'm curious now at what point flowering will be stopped and what research has been done on it. May have to go down that rabbit hole.

One thing I’m not worried about is it going hermi. My first two plants I used to bring in at night. I didn’t know about 18/6 or 12/12.

Turns out both were female. I could tell as I had them starting flower, but again didn’t know it ATT.

Sometime after this I started leaving them on the stoop, week no more than two weeks, as weather was good. They revegged. But I never saw buds so thought this is normal.

A on later set of plants one showed sex early but turned out to be male. I was still doing outside and bringing in most nights but now knew about 18/6 so made sure to have grow light when needed.

Later, before I knew limits on plants, I popped a few seeds and had them in and out every day. Trying different things. Killing some and giving some away. Learning what worked without internet access. Turns out I’m either very lucky, not, or this strain/seeds are more resistant/resilient than some.

Still no hermi since then but I did have a BBQ. Hope this didn’t jinx it.

I have a LUX meter. I’ll see if I can get some numbers. Hard part will be staying awake a few hours after sun set.
