Is this a lack of something or too much of something?

This is living soil and this second run in this soil. This batch was re-amended with build a soils craft blend. I am running a mix of stuff but the sativas(chocolate Thai) have this yellowing thing going on. Do you think k it is too much or a lack of nutrients? This is my weakness, diagnosing these plant problems….

I’ve seen magnesium deficiency do that to young vegging plants.
I’ve also seen iron deficiency do this but they get really white right in the middle growth points. I believe the iron issue was caused by lack of dryout in the root zone.

Deficiency. Generally underfed.

Sacrificing it's lower & older leafs to fuel new growth.

These plants need a low n-PK ratio dose with some magnesium sulfate sprinkled In lol

Ok good to know! First time growing some landrace sativa. I am just doing a small test run to see if it would be worth growing in a light dep set up in the greenhouse. Hungry plants when they have four months of flower I guess.

I have some build a soil products and what not. Mycorrhiza root stuff, gypsum, Craft blend, Amino-Calcium boost, unsulfured molasses, compost and some worm castings. I don’t have any like magnesium specific stuff

Epsom salt?

You can try amending but I'm not sure how long it'll take for the inputs to become bioavailable for the plant to uptake.

Hey, I believe mag as well but its not something you can fix now. I've heard foliar spraying is the fastest way to get mag into them but I can't confirmthat. I believe this starts in veg and show the deficiency around 3rd week of flower. Since I started adding 1tsp Epsom salts through veg up to 3rd week in flower that yellowing has stopped. I switch to cal/mag at 3rd week.

Foliar can absorb the nutrients within minutes

.2-1gram per gallon of water for root feedings.


A few pinches for spray bottle should be a fine start.
