SSHZ does B2ACG's "Aura" and "GG#4........

They don’t look really affected by the uv light sshz.have any others any damaged leaves on them.how far ways the uv light.
 
Some plants show more of a reaction than others.......but for being on 2 hours a day right now, they are holding up well. On Tuesday I'll go to 3 hours a day. I don't remember exactly how high they are, it's surely above the led's by a foot or so. I used the specs off the website for my size room, I'd have to check back for that info. I'm starting to wonder what's the life of those bulbs and I'll have to look into it- although I've had them for years, much of that I never used them. Even now, it takes a long time to add up the hours while only on 14 hours a week.

Day 61 today........the GG#4's yellowed very early, at least the top half of the 3 of those. I'm guessing they are sensitive to the ppm, as the other strains are doing great with no issues.

The plan is to start chopping the Sharpiez (8-9 week strain) next weekend at day 67 and get the rest exactly at 10 weeks.
 
2nd straight day I forgot about the UV-B after turning it on- so the plants got about a 6 hours doses the last 2 days. lol Everything seems fine. 2 hours on tomorrow, then 3 hours a day the last week.

What do you use to fumigate the house with .a heap of incense sticks.that’s what I use when I’m trimming inside while the ol girls sleeping.sometimes she gets up before I finish and she goes right off her head hahahaha.
 
Not too much you can do other than open all the windows and let the breeze carry odors out. Sometimes we wash the drapes, blankets, rugs, etc. All jackets, coats, clothes get washed automatically. If people are coming over, we'll make chili or something smelly and let it sit for
a while. When we sell the house, everything will have to be painted and floors redone. Years and years of odors build up over time.......

I do that on occasion as well. Have one on right now.

Wife and son know I grew up with incense so got me this for Christmas one year.

However my wife doesn’t like burning incense so I rarely use it. IMG_7952.jpeg

Not an issue here. At most a guest with dog/cat allergies. She just doesn’t like the aromas. Which is why I don’t understand why she got it for me. 🤷‍♂️

But I’ve always liked them and candles. Maybe a fire thing. 😂

Women liked it and it hid things from mom. It wasn’t used daily.

In the year I’ve had this it’s probably been used the equivalent of once a month with most of that occurring last winter. 🤔

I’ll use it twice more this week then leave it until after harvest.

Today is 9 weeks finished, the 7 day countdown has begun......actually, I'll take the Sharpiez over the weekend, then the Aura and GG#4 early next week. Big yield this time, I'll need at least 3 days and probably 4 to get it all done.

It's always something.......... I use an Apec counter-top reverse osmosis device to make my water for the plants. I've used these for years and years and just replace the 4 filters every 6 months. My house was built (the whole community) on an old peach tree farm and the soil is really, really bad with lots of contaminants, heavy metals, and other nasty's from the fertilizer used over many years the farm was operational. But the r.o. device takes my 350+ ppm down to 25-30 ppm which is fine and workable.

So one of the plastic connectors cracked today and the water just leaks right out from there so it's not filling my containers, just leaking out. This piece is a tough find, and I'm not even sure a plumbing supply house would carry these. I know Ace Hardware doesn't have it and sometimes I have luck on Amazon but couldn't find it there either. So the plants will be getting well water this last week but should be fine since they are so far along anyway.

The filters were due a change at the end of December anyway so I just bought a whole new unit for $200 delivered after the 20% discount was applied. It never ends......

Most fittings for RO are called Quest fittings I believe.
Hope you find what you need or the new unit works out.
I agree at this stage of the grow your water should not matter much.
 
These were not quest fittings, there is a very small name printed in them......I couldn't find what I was looking for on your site Steam, and actually looked a few other places too. I could have ordered the piece from the manufacturer in Utah but it would have taken a week to receive. Let's see how long the new unit takes to arrive............

B2ACG- Sirius Black, EpicBuzz, Black Cherry Punch, Platinum Mimosa Cookies, Imperium X, Purple Lobster, Privilege Baddie, Tropicana Cherry, Oracle Octain, Marshmello OG, Bubblegum Sherbert, Crescendo and GG#4.

If anyone wants to make a suggestion or has grown one or more of these, I'd appreciate a comment. I'm definitely leaning towards the Ricky Booby (Cheetah Piss and Apple Fritter) as I've read some strong reviews on this one).
 
I grew Sirius Black and considered it one of my Favorites.
I grew Frozen Black Cherry and am enjoying that one daily now.
Also grew Tropicana Cherry.
You won't go wrong with any of them IMO.
I would grow them all again and actually have 2 packs of Sirius Black to run again.
 
I remember reading that you really liked the Sirius Black Steam..........how was the yield? I love the coloring of this one......

I grew the Frozen Black Cherry 2 grows ago, the one I have now is Black Cherry Punch.

Tropicana Cherry is not a heavy yielder I believe, that's why it's low on the list.

Id like to start with a line of his that puts hardcore stoners on their asses, Fill a few jars of it and continue from there. Had a cold blast make me insulated the floor beneath my tent and i grow in a tight area so i was delayed this month like10-14 days. Stewarts shops from Ny state is moving into VT and NH now it seems .....have a daughter thinking of starting to work for them idk if they are a good company though so ive been distracted from my tents and the cold kinda knocked my s1 chem 91's into "i refuse to grow larger then a dixie cup in cold" phase lmaop So ill need to recover from that. Figure by next wednesday ill have my order in to him....had my wife chirping about capt redbeard as well. Feel like i need to get these beans into soils asap so i can do fancy pics of his gear in my hands! I LOVE showing folks gear off!

I have been using UVA-B throught grow with lower times to start. If you do use it all through grow plants are smaller but smoke is much stronger & smell increases. Anyone who has eaten a green house tomato then a field tomato knows what I am talking about. I have about 250 watts LED's UVA-B & use it on full mid flower then dial it down last 1/5 of flower or I found it affected the tricomes.
 
Even when I turn my UV-B on during the day, I notice more smell for a few hours.........most breeders recommend slowly increasing the time it's on to let the plants acclimate themselves to it. I think a 3 hour period a day "on" in the middle of the grow cycle is ideal. Some plants really react poorly to it, others don't miss a beat. Most likely genetics originating close to the equator handle the UV better than plants with genetics originating further away. Probably using them for just the last 3 weeks or so in flowering is best........more doesn't make sense.

So, I've had these UV for years and never really used them much, just every so often. This is just the 2nd or 3rd grow using them religiously and I believe 1) they do increase resin production, 2) help finish the plants off faster by injuring the pistils and causing them to recede and 3) they cause leaf damage and curling and could reduce overall yield if used to much. I regret not using them for all these years........

Max asked me the other day how high I have them for my 4 x 4 space- they are both hung at 70 inches.

Remember, Sharpiez is an 8-9 week strain so I'm already past the breeders suggested harvest window. The Aura is 9-10 weeks and will need every bit of the 10 weeks. 11 weeks would probably be even better, but I'm not going there with Xmas around the corner. I need time to get rid of then smell. lol

now that im reading about UVA-B etc i wonder if these lights throw that at all? or if i would need supplemental additions?
 
Starting to chop tomorrow, day 68 but only the Sharpiez......then Tuesday I'll begin the Aura and GG#4's at day 70. Can't say I ever look forward to the cutting grind, it's about the only thing I dislike about growing. A few plants that stand out, I'll remove all the sun leaves and take a few pics as I move along.
 
Don't think all my grows do wonderfully every time....... the GG#4's (3 of them) I grew this crop, which I rarely talk about- yellowed the first 2 weeks of flowering and stayed that way all thru flowering. The only 3 in the room that yellowed and I'm assuming they were sensitive to something about the nutrients OR the LED's...........I didn't pay them much mind, and will probably keep these for myself and turn them into hash. The plants stayed green lower down below the top canopy, so I'm leaning towards a light burn.

Above has the exact same smell as the Permanent Marker strain I did before.....Sharpiez is from Sharpies Markers I'm guessing. Stick one to your nose and inhale and you'll get the idea (but on a much "louder" scale.

Am i correct in assuming they are kinda like reptile bulbs? Think im fully understanding this now thanks for the advice on these bulbs.
What i wanted to ask on these is do you have any in jars curing for like 4-8 weeks at this point? how does the cure change the aromas?

I hear ya! To be fair i could care less how they appear once they hit like week4-5-6 of flower (unless its something serious obviously) and just let them run their course. Think all the super high end flowers i used to grow with others who were OCD with cleanliness and obsessing on plants that just needed to be left alone in my honest opinion. What are the black hued plants behind these yellowed ones?

I rarely have much laying around in jars, except for personal use. I'm more commercial than most of the people on here, so I approach everything a bit differently. Curing will definitely bring out more smell in most buds, and make the smoke taste and smoke better.

Most important is to understand the UV bulbs are dangerous to your skin and you should not be in the room while they are on.........

The gorilas like cooler temps and less light.we grew it for years at the farm. Tricky one to keep green,a real deva .stinky though ,always a crowd favorite.
