I have never really weighted just jarred it. I wet trim try to get little to no stalk, pack them tight together when they start drying will shrink plenty of room for circulation

Do Y'all leave your weed in the cannatrol or still use jars or bags to store it after? Vacuum seal perhaps?
These dry and cure, correct?

The hemp storage bags really fascinate me..The idea of a cold cave like for keeping cheese or wine with hemp bags full of weed hanging like bats seems awesome.

@GrumpAzz ...I'd go for the newer model too man, good choice. The walk in model looks like it's the size of a grow tent and would be oh-so sweet but that's one of those things where if they don't show the price then that means I can't afford it. I probably paid less for my home 😋
 
I still keep my weed in Jars with Boveeda and mini hygrometers in a box in cool dark room.DSC_0972 - Copy.JPGDSC_0969 - Copy.JPG
I think with heavier buds I have fit 4oz in those jars.
Wife gets them at $ general or the like for around $5
I think I have around 20-30ish..

I cure it in grove bags or jars for a week or 2, after canatroler dry. Burp it if in jars.then seal in jars or vac seal for long term storage after cure. I store those jars or bags in a cooler with large brovada packs that you can recharge with distilled water.i never put brovada packs in the bags imho they steal terps in long term storage, I just use them to control the environment in the cooler. I dont store stuff very long most of the time though🤣😅😂 our gows so small it dosnt make it past the cure faze sometimes. It smokes pretty good right out of the canatroler. 😂😅🤣

I used to use that type but went back to mason jars asi can fit two deep in the old liquor cabinet. Each gets a hygrometer and Bodeva pack. So far keeps them good up to 30 months. IMG_8321.jpeg

Do you happen to know what temp the cannatrol is drying at?
I'm also curious about the water from the weed and where it goes after it's extracted from the material.

What I'm really wondering about are the capabilities of my freeze dryer because there's a menu where I can change it from factory default mode and get it to have a different drying temp and time. I may be able to get it to do what the cannatrol can do.
IDK about the water though since in the freeze dryer it turns to vapor and is vacuumed out, turning back to liquid in the drain

I believe it runs at 68f on auto program.
You can create your own programs also but the slacker won't mess with it.
You I expect to mess with it~!;bang
The directions said it needs to be in a "controlled" enviroment which threw me for a spin.
I use mine out in the shop where it is anything but controlled.
It ran perfect in a 90f shop and same in a 40-50f shop.
I was very surprised by the performance. It seemed to run perfect despite my use.
The water goes out the bottom through small drain tube to a small catch that is easily dumped.
It only holds like 4-5 ounces of fluid.
I let mine overflow since it is on a concrete floor.
But it could easily be routed to a larger container as long as you keep gravity in mind.
The water must naturally flow with gravity.

I really think this conversion is possible if the menu lets me do that. I'll need to read the instructions because I've only run the "quick start" program that's universal and applies to most things other than candy. If I wanted to candy then I go into the menu and change settings.
I'll give it a look over and see what I can do.
The freeze dryer has the drain in the bottom too so I think that's covered.
I assume there's a circulating fan which there isn't in the freeze dryer but maybe a battery powered one could be used.
Only other issue is the chamber of the freeze dryer is very small. In some countries people may even consider it "tiny" 😋
 
Time to take them off the baby formula and start the food and flood routine!
Looks like it will be two floods per day. Once at lights on and another at the 9th hour to split the daylight hours.

So far so good. Happy with the pace and uniformity and curious what traits my Vietnam x Afghanistan cross will show early.

Moved the rez off to the side with the opened space and put the cover back on so I don't drop something in it

Slight tweaks to the Cultivation Nation schedule
Week 1 50/50 grow/micro instead of 100% grow reduced to 400ppm with starting base of 130ppm

Yeah I've read all the stories about Pineapple Express and like the drunk guy at the bar scoping the crazy chic thinking I can fix her, here I am growing it. 😋

Ran some crazy frosty hybrids a while back and tried some Vietnamese crosses I'm still trying to figure out too. Mostly though I've been circling back to some bargain bin white label seeds and doing really well with them, getting some really good pot I didn't think was possible.
Did really well on some random discount kush beans I picked up. I'll tap it again for more oldies like Northern Lights after this grow while also slipping in some of my home bred seeds along the way.
I have a collection of newer stuff too and it's fancy weed for sure. Names are in way too much excess these days but it's from the Heartbreaker line and another is Fight Island offspring. Think Charlie Brown Xmas tree structure hybrid, golf ball size colas, insane frost piled on thick. They're that kind of weed and it's good but I just prefer straight indica or straight haze lately. I think I got burned out on those hybrids.

I'm sure I'll do well with this PE. At least I hope so! But even bad pot is better than no pot but I'll give it the old college try and do my best.
I often think about many of the good people I've met along this path and it's why I stay online on these forums. Certainly can't talk about this stuff with the people in the world which I dwell so it's nice to reach out and talk shop about something that pretty much keeps me living a double life.

I scroll reddit for growers and have thought about recruiting to get members here but one guy needing help thought marijuana was invented in a tent and can only grow in a tent. I don't even know where to start with that and felt it might be more headache than anything so I gave up that idea.

Set the flood control with a vintage cyclestat timer that's been with me since 1998 and my very first adventure growing indoors.

It's analog and old AF but according to the Ecowitt, still very accurate and on time.
I trust it as much as anything in this room to be reliable so it gets the job of handling automated watering .

Top two inches on this medium are set to be dry with the height I've set the stand pipe. Unlikely you'll see algae on the surface but that's mostly my for anti gnat idea and not for algae.
Works great BTW for those who deal with gnats and coco.
Algae, even if it does show in the tray or anywhere now will soon be shaded by canopy and die off but TBH, algae to me is just a byproduct of agriculture and it doesn't get me in a twist. Kinda the opposite as I welcome it's root growth promoting hormones and ability to burn of excess nitrates so they don't burn my plants.

Christmas is always strange here.
For one, it's 80 degrees and sunny out so it's really hard to feel that spirit in shorts and flip flops.
There's no big dinner planned or anything like that. We did chicken mole and today will share 1000mg bag of gummies and go see the Spongebob movie.
So as usual, Xmas is getting weird.
The gifts are no exception. One of our corporate sponsors is Yeti so each year we get a free yeti. 4 different people regifted their corporate gift to me and now I have this collectiono_O

And my sister...Holy crap she really outdid herself this year. In the past there have been some real WTF is that on Xmas morning but today....two can of tuna and a small jar of lemon lime curd. :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:
I swear my sister is a living walking breathing version of a tacky Christmas sweater!
The strange thing though...I'm proud of it and bragging about it to anybody including Y'all!
Nobody gets to say they got two cans of tuna for Xmas but I can!!! That's a flex if there ever was one!!! Best gift ever if I was a cat!!!
IDK what lemon lime curd is either. She really outdid herself and while the tuna is super funny, the cans are cool and if I have to guess, she knows the boat owner or something so there's probably something personal there I'll learn about later.

I tore my Bullseye apart yesterday fixing it up and cleaning it out from a bad batch of pellets last Summer.
Now I'm back in the meat smoking game getting double smoked!!!

Smoked adobo chicken to be pulled and shredded for mole

My wife made the sauce and I smoked it too for about 30 minutes while I let the chicken cool so I could pull it.
After shredding and getting all the skin and bones out, chicken is added to the sauce and slow cook BBQ'ed for another couple hours.
Taste is incredible. Like a very spicy curry but no coconut. Serve over rice, with cornbread, or wrapped in a 'tilla etc.

Buford #2 is very much the leader in the clubhouse ;smoke

I tripped balls yesterday at the spongebob movie.
They have these seats called Dbox, that rumble and sway so the movie is like a ride.
So we do that after hitting a doob and two proxy bowls of wax before leaving and on the way there. Also ate up two bags of indica gummies + another pouch of sativa gummies during previews.
All together, I ate about 800mg and was about as high as I've ever been in my life.😵


Lasted for about 9 hours then I slept for 14 and as usual, an edibles trip sleep is the best sleep ever!!!
That's pretty much why i don't do edibles because by the time they kick in and I'm where I wanna be, I've been eating them for an hour and half and am into almost 1000mg then it's pretty much a marathon high and half day sleep.

I started to take some pics for an update today and saw this pic on my phone. I guess it was dinner before I zonked out 🤣
