Late 70’s, I didn’t succumb to peer pressures early.

I rarely use any drugs, prescribed or otherwise. But if desperate or it’s deadly I’ll try.

Mushrooms I’ve been given twice as birthday gift and another occasion. Otherwise just in the late 70’s early 80’s.

Started smoking ~'79, growing ~'82. but there was incredible bud available if you were willing to pay and lucky enough to know the right people. We had wicked roadkill skunk that was reportedly from Burma and cared for for years by vets who smuggled home some seeds. Yields were low, mites devastated it regularly, but when it was successfully grown it was amazing. One of them was a pervert who was flirting with my 13 year old neighbor friend who robbed him and sold me fat joints for a buck. He had several strains he was working and they were very psychedelic and potent. I used to manage a grow for a guy who had one of the skunk Burma strains, but he went to the Netherlands and got NL, and Early Skunk and ditched the real skunk. NL was nice, but nothing like the skunks.

I think I have you all beat.....so far.....summer of1968 I started with LSD then once high I could smoke pot, it made me gag & cough at first but once high on acid I could smoke like a chimney. I've had about a 1-2 year break from weed back when my hips were so bad I was on fentynal & hydromophone and couldn't walk or tend plants......but I'm back with a vengeance. I've been growing pot indoors close to 30 years using Promix type peat based soils & General Hydroponics the whole time

Gonna be 49 next month and I just gotta thank everyone for making me feel young today. I smoked for the first time with an old neighbor when I was 16 in 1993, didn’t even get a buzz the first time. The quality of the weed was terrible it was brown seeded Mexican brick weed.

49??? wow, I still had all of my original parts at 49, I needed some new parts by 50 but I was put on a list 13 years later my parts were replaced and after some rehab and an oil change I'm good as....old...still smoking and started to grow better once I found this group back in about 2018. Now if I could just remember all I've learned I could grow some good weed.......

I actually remember the first hit! Columbian Gold, smoove as silk and made me laugh at everything. Also made my eyes feel funny, but I can‘t desribe that feeling, nothing has ever done it since though.

I was working in a road crew (mostly yoots with records that they were trying to work off. I was just there for the $$). Cutting fire roads for Cal Forestry up in the hills in Black Star Canyon in So. Ca. One day after work, got invited to have a few beers by the team lead, got pretty high and haven’t looked back since!

I’m 67+, been smoking 49 years.

SLO is about 3 to 4 hours north of where I grew up.
That would be 2 to 3 hours of cool stuff to see and an hour of LA traffic.
