Welcome to this show and tell display of my current and upcoming grow projects.
Feel free to ask any questions and since I've created a title to try and direct bot traffic..If you're new to the site for the first time you're in good hands for any kind of home grow, medical, recreational, or cash crop project you have on your mind with this crowd here. Sign up and create an account, introduce yourself, and join on in!

This will be a 3 strain poly-hybrid grow except for the 3 pack of autoflowers which are being used for a germination experiment.

I've sourced seeds from four different banks for this grow.
Each of these banks came thru in timely fashion with freebie seeds and other fine swag. Nothing bad to report and would/will repeat business with all of them.
Mandala is in Spain, ships from France, so add about 3-6 weeks extra shipping time ordering from them if you're in the USA.

Great Lakes Genetics ~ Bodhi
Mandala Seeds ~ Romulan

This aint Grandma's raised flower bed Y'all.

Hydraulics and hydroponics (insert man grunt here)
It doesn't look like much but she's a beast of a grow machine. Simple flood and drain technique as old as ancient Egypt and Nile River hydro systems but made modern AF.
Of course it's highly customized and made to fit me and my needs.
It's what's come to life after years of trying different methods of growing our favorite plant. Many factors have gone into it from space to operating costs.
Part of what makes growing weed so fun is finding your own personal journey thru gardening.
I've finally settled on a racing themed flood and drain system on a hydraulic lift bed. Shit happens ya know!

IMG_4052[1].jpeg

I'll go ahead and let that simmer for the bots but also, I'm not in any real hurry so kinda slow burning on this one. Hope to have seeds wet in the next few hours though.
Lights, medium, and nutes will be described in future posts.

This will be a no veg 12/12 from the start grow so I'm thinking seed to weed in about 80 days, no more than 100.
All seeds are regular and there will be some selective and isolated pollination so I'll be looking to harvest seeds and sensi from this crop.
Hope ya stay tuned for the show! It should be a good one!

I don't like bending over either...never considered hydralics.
The imagination races...

A pair of bulging discs in my lower back and shoulder & neck issues has made me into a mobility impairment enthusiast when it comes to the bending and lifting needed during a grow.
It's hard for me to manage plants especially when they're small when they're on the floor. I need a table.
I used to start on a table then move to the floor when I grew in soil. Once they were on the floor I couldn't really do much other than water and rely on taking pictures to do exams. Often times doing that, if I got bugs or mites, I would be weeks behind controlling it because I didn't see it sooner.

Things transpire and eventually I switched it to hydro. It would be hempy buckets or a flood table and I really liked the idea of a table so here it is!
It's a sort of upside down grow room where the plants move up and down but the light is mounted in a fixed position and does not move up or down.

The hydraulic table isn't the only mobility impairment amenity in the room either.
I don't carry water and instead pump it into the room from an outside barrel to the barrel inside the room. This saves me a lot of back pain.
I've also worked with a use light winches to move lights up and down via remote control. My main light is fixed but the other 3 are on winches.
The flooring is anti-fatigue so it's padded really. If I need to get down on the floor, it's soft and I can crawl around like I'm wearing knee pads with no pain.
Some devices have been made wireless to eliminate wrangling wires in the rafters which is more of a pet peeve thing with me and wires than it is about limited mobility but it is nice to not have to get up on a ladder to mess with wires anymore.

I nominate this guy to take over Zombie's previous role of social media man. Where did that guy go, anyway?

As an electrician, my grow pains me all the time. Eyes on the floor is how I handle it best. I seem to always be setting up in a hurry, excited to get the next round going or antsy to implement something new. Then I just don't get around to tidying up once everything is up and running.

I suppose it falls in line with that old trope of tradesmen never wanting to work on their own house. I had a ceiling fan just sitting in my closet for nearly a decade. It stayed with the house when I moved. I wonder if the new owners ever got around to putting it up...

I look forward to the day where I take the time to actually build out a permanent setup and can perform the cable management that my slight OCD desires.

Eyes on the floor... I'm just here to grow some weed.

You are not alone with the rotten back.
I did this, a turntable(lazy Susan) for my 3x3 to save me reaching...added the capillary mat, happy with the result.
CBD gummies made a huge difference for my back & hip, I'm a true believer.

the other night after i finished my upcan i thought of your tables right away!! i was stupid and upcanned all nine at one time with no breaks or anything and was basically bent over the entire time and when i wasn't i was lifting up bags of soil. emptied out and used four bags.. after my back was screaming!!!!! i don't normally take pills but i took a couple tylenol before i crawled my ass in bed!!

are you gonna trry to set up the time lapse?

i never knew Zombie and assume that social media stuff fizzled out real quick when he made all the accounts and nobody else could log in and update but him. i have no idea.. i do know i recently removed most of his special access to the site though.

I have a couple ideas for two new threads that can create traffic that will happen.
The VG thread will come back but way better and cleaned up and I'll use it to recruit reddit with a burner account.
Also an intro to get this site on the list of forums.

I do pay a ton of attention to trends because I've started a few. When I launched an airpot thread in 2011, it brought every grower who searched them out and resulted in like 150K people following an airpot grow. Now look at airpots lol.
You actually have the ability to do something similar with those curing machines.
That's new tech lots of people are interested in but at a price point most need more info about before buying. That's where you come in.
I'd start a thread titled Cannatrol vs V-cure with more detail specifics on models, precise spelling, etc and you guys with these machines simply post your experiences. You don't need to influence or really even give two fucks about what people choose. It's about getting clicks and then getting those people to click more and sign up simply because they started out searching info on a curing machine.
I may do something similar with the Harvest Right freeze dryer and Nugsmasher. Just using key words to be an internet traffic cop, maybe pick up a new grower or two.

You're also not alone with things like that ceiling fan. My bathroom sink sat boxed in a spare room for 7 years and the shower for two years in the carport before I got around to finally remodeling the bathroom🙃

Growers creep and rebuilds never stop man. There's always something. Nowadays I find myself downsizing some things when for years it was constant build bigger and better. Now it's build more streamlined and user freindly above all. Maybe age has something to do with that.
The crazy thing is I went from an 8'x4' footprint amd 1600 watts to only 3x3 and 750 watts but the 3x3 can double the yield of the 8x4 and do it a month faster using hydroponics

Very nice solution! Stoney has a turntable for the ages you might be interested in I always thought was super cool.
Many people growing at home have mobility issues and I feel it's something missed by the entire indoor gardening industry. The industry acts like it's demographic is 22 year old men when the majority at the local hydroshop here buying stuff are over 40 and many are elderly.

Ha I thought of you when I was hunting down my OG Kush cut!
Not only is it an alien sex party but I think it's a VaderOG so we got Sith and OG and Aliens in there for all kinds of nastiness!!!

Yeah gonna do the timelapse and everything...even a DIY old school Xbox case drop! The VG thread will be next level man.

Hell yeah, run it, love the Egyptian Nile farming call back.

Invented by the Greeks and perfected by the Egyptians! They grew weed too! All the talk is about wheat but right there along with it was marijuana, cash crop of the ancients.
Another fun culture to get into are ancient Mayans and Aztecs. They invented raft hydroponics, growing corn on rafts floating on lakes. Like the first example of aquaponics.

ancient societies & agriculture/ ancient history is one of my interest\areas of research.

cannabis/seeds have been found in Egyptian artifacts/ceremonies/burials, w/e

wait till the ice melts, so much history beneath, waiting.

""Ancient mountain cultures definitely used mist and fog for agriculture. The Nazca and coastal Peruvian civilizations built fog catchers — nets that collected moisture from coastal fog and channeled it to crops. Called "lomas" agriculture.

In the Andes some researchers believe certain stone agricultural structures may have been designed to collect condensation and morning fog in addition to channeling rainfall.

The Cherokee and other North American mountain peoples understood fog belt agriculture — planting in specific elevation bands where fog provided consistent moisture.""

interestingly...

The cloud forests of Colombia and Peru support wild cannabis and coca at elevations where fog is the primary moisture source. Those plants developed specific adaptations — heavy resin production being one of them. Resin is partly a response to UV at altitude and partly moisture management.

read of a story of a culture doing this, once, but finding "Validity" is not coming up.

Hell yeah.

Lots of haters on Reddit but I've mailed off two VGs to curious individuals. So many people just argue that it's a gimmick and I'm like "but it's free?"

I've had a couple VG posts there get some traction though, and the negative comments are still a form of engagement so the post gets seen by more. I'll be making another one soon, showing the transition from VG to Hydro. I absolutely loved the medialess (what @Stoneyluv calls going commando) approach from my last run. No more hydroton will save quite a bit of hassel.

Growers creep and rebuilds never stop man. There's always something. Nowadays I find myself downsizing some things when for years it was constant build bigger and better. Now it's build more streamlined and user freindly above all. Maybe age has something to do with that.
Streamlined is where my focus will be for the final build. It's taken a couple iterations to really figure out where I can make things easier/better. I'm getting there though.

This is wild.
It's called dialed.
Boosted yields.
Bandit's for real.

You know it's impressive when it inspires some poetry.

I'm in a 4x8 now. I can't wait for a single row of plants so I can easily access them all. My back plants suffer when stuff starts getting sticky.

they a bunch o' retards, that VG to LPA/HPA/Fog makes the process so simple, and unless you break it, its unlimited use.
i rooted a plant in some coco, moved it over to fog, it died lol.

if i root a plant in the VG, move to fog, itll live. something with the root zone morpohology here, it had no reason to die, it could uptake water through the leafs, the roots looked fine, not exactly sure why but im around it, i popped more in the vg, ill move those over to the shitty fog chamber lol

ya know you were the very first person i saw use content tags back in the day. that may have very well been one of those airpot threads you're talking about.

around that time i was all new to forums, spent a short amount of time at rollitup.. got ripped off by that dude at GLH leds.. and somebody directed me to your site, i went there posted in the introduce yourself and you were the first person to reply... the rest is a cloud of smoke!!! ;budi

Yeah gonna do the timelapse and everything...even a DIY old school Xbox case drop! The VG thread will be next level man.

that cut just sounds way to epic of a genetic cross... i sure hope it lives up to all the luv!!!! high hopes man!!!

so i've been thinking about this clear VG.. i'm thinking in time lapse the tap root is gonna look like a bowling ball going down one of those kids lanes where they have the bumpers on the sides!!!

i can't wait to see the fish bones start to develop, i'm not sure i've ever seen a time lapse even go that far!!! really stoked for this!!

Like the first example of aquaponics.

i often wonder how it would be... i mean the aqua duct runs just outside your house all the time.. just go out and fuck around all the time!!!! i wonder if the rest of the growers would get mad if somebody dumped nutes down it? hahaha they'd make me live at the bottom!!!! hahaha thats okay, less steps!!! haha

when i read history i try to imagine myself in that time and what i'd be like maybe... most if nor all are comical thoughts!!

I absolutely loved the medialess (what @Stoneyluv calls going commando) approach from my last run. No more hydroton will save quite a bit of hassel.

i so wanna grow commando in the new system!!!! part of me feels bad leaving my trix balls behind... but i am starting from clone. i'd have to use my aero cloner though, i don't have one of those patented grump mother humpers to start mine in!!

what size net cups are you using again?

grump mother humpers
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

what size net cups are you using again?
I'm using 4" netpots but they measure out closer to 3.75"

The 3" collars fit right into 2" pvc fittings so that's where I start the seedlings. Then move them to the 4" collars for the hydro setup. I'll be upgrading to a 3" mainline for the mother humper that will drop down to a 2" line for clones. I'd have to be WAY more proactive about trimming roots if I want to keep mothers in the 2" setup. Realistically... I'm sure they'll eventually clog whatever sized pipe they're in, but I'd like to mitigate the plugs and impending flood as much as possible.

Weed will grow almost anywhere, but that morning fog is what makes weed grown in Northern California better than most other places.
That cool foggy morning giving way to hot afternoon Sun delivers the goods every year.
Desert mountain climates are probably second to that, similar conditions but without the fog. NorCal coastal fog is the difference maker

Hell yeah.

I'm in a 4x8 now. I can't wait for a single row of plants so I can easily access them all. My back plants suffer when stuff starts getting sticky.

I've been beating the drum for people to eliminate every seed starter or starter pot, whatever in regards to starting when using the VG.
Go commando. That's what it was designed to do!!!
I even advocate for people to not even use something as small as a solo cup for VG sprouts. 1 gallon minimum is my choice. So yeah man....collars only, no need for net cups and hydroton. In a medium, 1-3 gallon but no more starter size pots or solo cups and certainly not plugs or cubes.

This grow I'm going straight from VG to final destination with no upcan in between.

Streamlining for me is also cultural. Like there should be a flashing No Loitering neon sign in this room and maybe a motivational poster reading No Bad Days.
Down to the details of making sure the seeds are pointing in the right direction so they don't waste time. Being prepared ahead of time with everything needed and ready to go. Precharge and loading so that later there's no dang calmag issues. All of that clearly thought out before seeds are dropped then simply execute the plan.

ya know you were the very first person i saw use content tags back in the day. that may have very well been one of those airpot threads you're talking about.

that cut just sounds way to epic of a genetic cross... i sure hope it lives up to all the luv!!!! high hopes man!!!

so i've been thinking about this clear VG.. i'm thinking in time lapse the tap root is gonna look like a bowling ball going down one of those kids lanes where they have the bumpers on the sides!!!

i can't wait to see the fish bones start to develop, i'm not sure i've ever seen a time lapse even go that far!!! really stoked for this!!

i often wonder how it would be... i mean the aqua duct runs just outside your house all the time.. just go out and fuck around all the time!!!! i wonder if the rest of the growers would get mad if somebody dumped nutes down it? hahaha they'd make me live at the bottom!!!! hahaha thats okay, less steps!!! haha

when i read history i try to imagine myself in that time and what i'd be like maybe... most if nor all are comical thoughts!!

i so wanna grow commando in the new system!!!! part of me feels bad leaving my trix balls behind... but i am starting from clone. i'd have to use my aero cloner though, i don't have one of those patented grump mother humpers to start mine in!!

what size net cups are you using again?

The lemon and spice terp description is what made me think of your old ARC and that I may have been on the trail of the real alien or at least the alien I fell in love with and that was your ARC. Lemon and spice could be another way of saying pink lemonade jolly rancher lol.
I have another Vader, Jawa Juice, but it will be part of the next grow which is gonna be very heavy with indicas.

These are cuts I don't think will be around anymore so I'm kinda trying to save them with a priority of making more seeds every time I drop some.
Romulan, Mozambique Satori, and 80s Durban Poison are also here to be bred and make more seeds then maybe cross but first things first and that's to get 1000s of seeds of these strains alongside some sensi. Romulan and the Alien were top priorities so they go first.

I have everything needed to do a raft system man. It's made to grow things like lettuce and kale, leafy crops.
First time I did it, the fish nibbled the roots so they needed root cages but never got beyond that. I also wanna get my strawberry tower up and going again.

Forums used to be the only place we could go to see bud porn and living plants but that was almost a generation ago.
Instagram really gutted us when it became the bud porn king though. Now bud porn is so saturated and many times AI or AI enhanced it's lots it's effect.
DIY LED pretty much put the death nail into LED grifts like GLH and others like him. Now that's an entirely new industry and evolving constantly.
I was a crusader back then. Pissed off because somebody named a strain after a gun, AK47. Wanted to see a weed plant in every backyard in America and over grow the planet. Had ideals and stuff but today, simply overwhelmed. When somebody thinks weed was invented in and can only grow in a tent, I'm lost. It's like the 8% of people who believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows.
So we're up against it man. Some people don;t want to know much more about the weed they smoke other than the price of the cart in their pen.
Growing becoming a lost art maybe? Industrialized and commercialized for sure...like the difference between Seagrams rot gut booze and moonshine from the misty mountians. People want the rot gut because they dont wanna work for that good stuff!

they a bunch o' retards, that VG to LPA/HPA/Fog makes the process so simple, and unless you break it, its unlimited use.
i rooted a plant in some coco, moved it over to fog, it died lol.

if i root a plant in the VG, move to fog, itll live. something with the root zone morpohology here, it had no reason to die, it could uptake water through the leafs, the roots looked fine, not exactly sure why but im around it, i popped more in the vg, ill move those over to the shitty fog chamber lol

To be fair, there's a ton of things regarding growing weed I consider gimmicks that others are subscribed to so I see that as me needing to do a better job of presentation.
It was an old design cluttered up by chili recipe talk. I'd call that a gimmick too if it was my first time.
If this time lapse works, that's a mic drop on that shit though.

;bbuild

Zero Day.
Setting up timelapse next.
Zen compared it to lasers but it feels more like trying to set up one those paranormal activity movies and catch a ghost on film. Maybe all Y'all will see is my weird face in green light acting scared, IDK, it's anybody's guess.
There's a lot of evolution in this pic. Where it started and where it finished.

The Romulan seeds have a little something to them. Not sure what...lightning stripes in a way maybe. Nice and plump. Great color. Just have this look of a very well cared for mama so I was really happy looking them over.
All seeds dropped were nice and fat with good color as well. Even the autoflowers! 4x Romulan, 5x Alien Rift, 5x Strawberry Mama

The timelapse is a one off experiment using black toilet paper which I do not recomend! TP is just difficult to use since when it gets wet, turns to mush and doesn't hold up like paper towel.
But I found a way to make it work so we'll see

""Ancient mountain cultures definitely used mist and fog for agriculture. The Nazca and coastal Peruvian civilizations built fog catchers — nets that collected moisture from coastal fog and channeled it to crops. Called "lomas" agriculture.

In the Andes some researchers believe certain stone agricultural structures may have been designed to collect condensation and morning fog in addition to channeling rainfall.

The Cherokee and other North American mountain peoples understood fog belt agriculture — planting in specific elevation bands where fog provided consistent moisture.""
Amish, Mennonite and Quaker have been doing this to collect water for decades.

This site uses a lot of AI vids but has real info and examples.

I know you can take things from hydro and grow them in soil but was always told you can’t go from soil to hydro. Maybe that’s what’s behind the seedling dying? Never looked into it.

That's what I suspect happened here.
It's roots looked fine.

I'll know when I take this new seed out of the vg straight to the fog, today or tomorrow.

they make black TP!??! i should have known!! hahaha i love black thats no secret, but TP... thats just to far!!!! whats wrong with people!! hahaha

Bandit, i peaked at the lumberjack site and it appears that alien rift is no longer available... really hope you get some gold fire man!! i always felt a special feeling growing something unavailable, not sure why but i do...

.

Not only do they make black TP but it's like a luxury TP too! I may try the black paper towels next. Shoulda got those but didn't see them until after I knew the brand of the TP

I'm working on the timelapes but will need to redo it...Just they way it looks on camera under the blurple and transparent filament...too many factors so I'll use the wave wall and build a frame to hold glass so the wave insert is up against glass or plexiglass. I probably wont even need to use black paper then since it will be a clear view.

The guys involved with Ocean Grown Genetics broke up in 2018. AR was one of their last strains with freshest seeds being around that time thru 2022. The seeds I have are likely 4 years old and last of the stock if not the last pack around to be had as Lumberjack closes it's doors.
The way I see this...there's aliens and there's ALIENS. I haven't seen the latter for a very long time and feel like this is a last gasp hail mary to bring it back.
IDK what these strains they call aliens are all about today but they're not ALIENS. I don't trust anything after 2020 for the most part and certainly not anything after AI.

Pre2020 aliens are hard AF to find. It's like trying to find a real deal Moonshine or Stomper. They exist in name only unless it's some old stash somebody has found in a basement somewhere or some shit but the new gear is a huge step back from that old gear.
Everything else in my VG's are popped and coming up except for the AR. Classic sign of old seeds but I'm patient.
There's some splits so maybe just slow out of the gate, we'll see.

I got a late start on the race today. Have the weekend off but wanted to take my wife to the new Billie Eilish concert movie down in Kyle at the Imax. Got home around 5 and watched the race but made sure to get my points while at the show. Finally crossed that 4000 mark today!
Trackhouse seems to have put all their eggs in the road course basket and has forgotten all about ovals.

I freaked out when I saw they made an access cab rc Tacoma! Thought to myself, looks like I'm getting a crawler and gonna use that new can of gloss black krylon I got on it.
Yeah it's not the hair on fire speed demons I'm used to but it's fun AF! Perfect grill side companion out on the deck and patio!
I'm gonna get a tree taken down that has roots under my concrete patio and has been pushing it up. Builders cheaped out and used bricks for the bottom layer so you can imagine how it's cracking like broken glass.
I sledge hammered some if it but am kinda leaving most in as fill to reuse and recycle it but level it out. In the meantime the little quarry the rubble has become is a great crawler patio!
It's only a 1/18th scale but that's perfect for a little 5x5 pit of busted of concrete and brick + a couple sandbags there holding the tent legs down lol.

maybe it would be better to to use your favorite towels and put some black food coloring on it...

my cameras hate the blue in the lights.. if i go red and white it looks fine, add blue and it doesn't look good. if i go all blue it's kinda trippy in the cameras, almost uv looking!!!

that is one great thing about crawling, courses are everywhere and anything!!!! even used grow lights!!!!! hahaha i assume your tires are glued? if not.. take them off and wrap the wheels with lead tape (as much as you possibly can) then put the tires back on.. it will crawl over anything!!!
and man you ain't kiddin about trackhouse.. geez all of em starting in the top 5.. idk.. sometimes it's not always best for teammates to be close to each other on a road course. a little sliding around and never know what will happen.

i listened to more of todays race then i saw... also had love's radio on side speakers, their team was in rare form today.. very snippy and fighting with each other all race. at one point when he was coming in the pits the crew chief just said "do whatever the fuck you want then" it didn't get any better as the race went on.

i'm kinda sad now reading about the alien stuff man.. so what it was replaced with pies and crusty shit?? sucks! ya know i always thought this kinda thing would happen one day, i just didn't think i'd live to see it.
