So this idea of a Missouri camping trip might have some legs.

I would be interested in renting a cabin or popping a tent with anyone who wants to come sometime end of summer maybe?

Stoner float trip?

(That's the Jacks Fork River)

Anybody wanna take this further?

My and my girlfriend almost died floating Jacks Fork when the water was kinda up lol. Genuinely one of the scariest experiences I’ve had in the water. Lots of debris in that river. I think it was the Blue springs to Alley Springs but I can’t remember for sure.

We shouldn’t have gone out lol

It’s beautiful when the waters down though lots more wildlife than you see on the Current river. My girlfriend has this ridiculous video of a deer just swimming beside us in the river not giving a damn.

A bit too far for me, but sure looks like an awesome place.

A motorcycle club forum I belong to has an annual meet. They move it around all over the country every year. Those that can attend do if close to their geographic location. Some travel quite far. We held them at Lake Tahoe one year, Gettysburg the previous. Gives more peoples the opportunity to participate if they desire. It’s a good idea Moe and you could be on to something. Missouri would be a bit of a ride from here.

But we have small children, so there's that. I haven't even had an overnight without my kid in like 5 years... where's this village I keep hearing about that it takes to raise these tiny humans?
🦗🦗🦗< crickets lol
Yeah i was just thinking about what id do with them. I guess i could postpone the trip to see their grandfather til then lol.

I would totally be down, I love a good float trip!! We have a big family float every labor day weekend. I am somewhat busy in the summer, but if there's any way I can make it work I'm there.

If you do this next year its a major possibility. With the move this year and new employment i dont even think im going to have time to go fishing.

If this happens you all need to take some pocs and cids for the rest of us less fortunate
No Fishing, No way!!! Always got to make time for Fishing!!!!! I cant make it to Missouri this year.

30 hr one way for me, a bit too far. Somewhere up in the North east ....like Bangor Maine is only about 10hrs for me.
Orrrrr the Adirondacks lol. It would be cool to start an annual thing and move it to different locations like @freezeland suggested, since we're all so spread out. Here's some reading material for a future year lol.

I vote next year in the Adirondacks or Maine, either one idc 😏

Looks on map to see how far Missouri is from tassie..that’s a nice jog from here..I better get goin now...run Forrest.

@CannaGranny you mentioned some rental cabins in the area, do you have a suggestion?
Since we are a full on tourist area, there is all kinds of lodging. From “glamping “ to full houses. Glamping is a tent up on a base, with beds, ac and heat. The place I am talking about is called Two Rivers Ozarks cabins. They are tiny, not so fancy. The owner has kept good beds in them they are clean and she is canna friendly. She is also pet friendly.
Most of it just depends on what it is you are looking for. As this comes together, I’d be happy to post several different options.
As you know it’s the rivers that bring people here. Both the Jacks Fork and the Current. Many come to see the wild horses as well.
I saw someone say they had a rough float on the Jacks, locals know not to float it after a rain and it begins to rise. She gets wild and wooly!

Damn, not accepting bookings.

I'm sure we can find something. Sounds like Eminence MO is the target area. I'll do some digging.

You know, I could be convinced to come to the Adirondacks too... spent many a summer there.

I'd be down to start planning next year in the Northeast now. Seems like for a largeish group, extra time may be needed. This one in MO we probably need to fit in within the next 2 months.

I can do virtually any weekend, thinking drive down on Fri nite, head home Sunday afternoon kinda thing. I can make that work just about any time.

I could also be convinced to rent a cabin or something like that where multiple folks can crash.

Just came back from Maine and don't think I will get more than rain days off rest of year.
This is a great idea and I am hopeful many events can take place for all.

50/50 for me, been a rough few years financially, keep my fingers crossed on a miracle.

Sounds fun though, hard for me to break away with a baby under 2 years but if I can I'd love to.

My only suggestion is to check the calendar for the trail rides and chose a weekend that does not have one going on. On those weekends town is anywhere from 2-4k riders, horses etc. Lodging is hard to get, food is hard to get and town is chock full of horses and drunk cowboys! Our little town hosts 20-30k on any given weekend of the year, and the population is only 508!

Costs will be minimal, and some of us STL folks can probably carpool. I've even looked into renting an RV for the weekend.

Bring the baby, we gotta break 'em in sometime.
