So I’m usually not a supporter of dispo weed , I’ve been sent to Indiana and can’t grow until spring ( I do have outdoor but not the same right? Another thread )

Anyhow I found this small operation that grows and sells their own product. Higher end product than normal. Small selection no deals 5$ a gram no matter what on flower good cold pressed wax for 13$ a gram - anyone else have a good or bad dispo experience

Whats it called

I have never been to a dispensary.
Some are like fuckin Walmart - 137 strains for sale ! Lol runtz seems to be hot up here right now so they name everything runtz it’s all marketing - high thc content = high prices even if the product is mid grade it tested at 28% (+- 10% lmao) so must be good

Most are in my experience never realized I grew good pot till I bought some from a dispo ! Lol
Ever wonder if the freshness of your own has something to do with it? I often think damn it's because it's farm to table type shit no extended shelf period, still sticky...idk it's probably just damn good pot tho.

It's all homegrown sort of..it was grown in somebody's home (at least it used to be that way)

Overall, what I hear from my customers is ok to bad. Personally, I’ve never been. I think it’s hit and miss these days. You’ll find good deals, like stuff on sale, but,, I rarely see anyone rave about the quality. My nephew runs a dispensary in Philly, and when he sees my product, he says “we never have anything this good”……….. mold is often reported what I hear.

I think it’s not just the grow process but for sure the dry and cure, money hungry grows are pushin for inventory turns and these guys seem to push for quality - still prefer my homegrown ! Lol

Back when I grew outdoors in the 90's it was sold as soon as it was dry.
People said it was the best weed they smoked most of the time.
Fresh pot is better.
I think cure is important and much of what was once 'imported/smuggled' had time before hitting the streets to cure.
We may have become pot snobs over the last decade or two as our knowledge base has grown.
Airtight 62% stored in the dark is our latest attempt at fresh~!

Notice all these bags have integra boost in them - I’m personally not a fan but they obviously work and I do agree this I would consider fresh as it was picked in NOV - I’ve seen some dates a year or more old 🙀

In MY DAY, oh, it was way back in 2017, I got a med card because MI didn't have recreational yet -- and if you're over the age of 50 you can easily qualify for a med card in MI -- and there were no large growers/suppliers. Dispensaries got their supply from med growers who had extra weed.

I had a great dispensary back then, but prices were rather high -- $50 - $60 and eighth for "top shelf." The same dispensary today really sucks for flower.

The issue is I believe, growers who run the big facilities earn bonuses on overall weight, not quality...........so thats where the incentives are. The black market remains the place to find the best quality buds.

There was talk when I'd go to city council meetings in L.A. when medical was firmly established, where the head of the Dept of Cannabis Control would talk about separating regions of California like they do in France for wines where particular strains could only be produced in those regions and sold.

I wish they could do something like that but for small batch growers that focus on quality.

def agree , problem for me is all my old buddies are growing and selling - and let’s face it not everyone is a top notch grower like itself ! Lol 🙄😞

Yeah my buddies are always trying to sell me buds that look like they were maybe only 5 or 6 weeks into flower when they got cut.
Only a handful of red hairs and the rest were bright white still 😮‍💨😒😳
Barely any mass, looks like the 2000s cornfield weed id get for free🤣

You hit on something here, I enjoy fresh I grow but enjoy trying to cure it to a superior taste and smell. More involvement from us together may help some of us in our quest for terps & smells. SS

I swore I'd never pay for a Boveda and here I am with 15 jars that each have 62% pack in them.
Just too easy and cheap to not use. They were $1 each for the size I got.
