This is shaping up to be a bad year for grasshoppers in my foothills location.
I’ve already done the weird ass dance when the damn thing is faster than me, but I’m intent to crush it anyway, a dozen or so times!

Anyone got any tried and true methods for ridding the world of grasshoppers and not poisoning yourself at the same time?
Very my thank you!

Not sure if praying mantis will eat them but those things are straight killers

Flying catfish not an option, interested to see the resolve to this

We tried praying mantis last year. Bought and released over 200 (Weird cocoon Looking things that hatch by the hundreds), did it a couple times and didn’t see much improvement last year. I don’t know if they eat grasshoppers either, the ones here are about 3 - 4 inches long and as broad as a 510 battery. Two or three could probably get me airborne for a short while!

Mice, rats, shrews, gophers, badgers, coyotes, bobcats, kit foxes all sound like a problem

Skunk may help cover the smell...50/50 probably a problem lol

Lizards and toads...and the less attractive snake seem to be top picks
