It's been over a year and finally able to get back to growing. Life decided to throw a curve ball at us but in the end, I think we crushed it.

Back in July of 2024 got news that I needed to move. I had inherited a home from my father after his passing and was 50/50 owner with my sister. She forced a sale and my family and I ended up moving up to Sacramento. Long story short we have finally got things together. Ultimately this is going to be a grow diary, but I wanted to share some pictures of the move and the new and improved grow room.

We had moved out of our old house back in January and started living with the in-laws for around 4 months while we waited for our home to be completed. We moved in towards the end of May in a newly built track home and got to work.

Day we moved in the garage looked like this. The goal was to turn our tandem garage into a grow room. Something the wife and I had been talking about for a long time.
IMG_8909.jpeg

First things first, had to get the floor finished.
IMG_8939.jpeg

Next step was to seal off the tandem garage and make a wall to for our new grow room. I'm not a wood worker, dry wall guy or door framer so please be gentle lol. This was our first stab at this type of work.
IMG_8950.jpeg

Once the wall was up we moved some stuff into the new grow spot. Previously it had been hiding in our in-laws garage. Their neighbor is a LEO, and while a chill dude, we didn't want any unnecessary attention. We kept as many moms as we could, but were ultimately left with just 5 moms. We ended up planting a few seeds as well since I've been sitting on a few hundred. Also installed a 100amp subpanel for the grow room. I installed one in the garage of my last grow area and it was amazing.
IMG_8988.jpegIMG_8985.jpegIMG_9026.jpeg

Now that we had our ladies back in our domicile more work was done to the wall. Added a layer of insulation inside the wall as well as finishing it. I didn't take any pictures once we dry walled it, but it's just dry wall. Also hung the door in the frame. That sucked. A lot.
IMG_8976.jpeg

With the wall complete we started by adding more insulation along the walls of the flowering area. It was mostly with the idea of adding another reflective surface but doubles as a way to cover the window and provide even more insulation for the grow room. Also had an HVAC team come out and install a mini split for the room. HVAC guys were awesome, and it was very interesting chatting with them.
IMG_9025.jpeg

Next step was building the growing tables. While they aren't the most space efficient, they do raise the ladies off the floor and provide a way for us to move them making it so much easier to do maintenance.
IMG_9014.jpeg
IMG_9024.jpeg

Next up was wiring for all the lights. I actually like wiring and all that jazz so this was fun for me. Ultimately it ended up looking pretty clean. Got the lights hung and provided some killer outlet locations.
IMG_9033.jpeg

So this brings us to roughly a week ago. We had some clones that we didn't need, and while we weren't completely done with the room (still have fans, and other various things to install still) the girls were getting to big. Decided to give the room a test run with the extra ladies and see how it goes.
IMG_9034.jpegIMG_9035.jpegIMG_9038.jpeg

Transplanted the girls into 3g pots and gave them a week to figure it out lol.

Next post will catch us all the way up.

Now for the grow part of the grow lol.

We flipped them to flower last Friday, 9/12/25, and the ladies have been off to the races. We have 4 Dante's infernos, a single Grape Gas, 3 Donnie Burgers and 3 Glitter Bombs. Placed some trellis nets down and have been try to keep the height manageable. The Dante's and Donnie Burgers were bigger than what we wanted when we sent them to flower but eh...

Here are some pictures from Sunday. Will get some more tonight when the lights flip on.

Did forget to PH the water once and well the girls let us know. :/

Some pictures from tonight.

Put a trellis net up on the 3 Glitter Bombs and the lone Dante's on the table.

Dante's are looking good. Stacking really well, hoping this trend continues for the next couple of weeks.

Lone Grape Gas in the front surrounded by her Donnie Burger gals.

Last up is the glitter bombs and the runt dante's.

Upped the PPFD, dropped the temps and upped the VPD. Next steps are going to be adding some extra PK to the mix.

IMG_9074.jpeg

Glitter Bombs and the one Dante's: The Dante's can really stretch but the Glitter bombs have been out pacing her and they were the smallest of the bunch.
IMG_9075.jpeg

Donnie Burger's and the Grape Gas: The one that's looking a little droopy is a drinker. She's already chugging a good 2L+ a day. Under estimated how much she was drinking and she got a bit dry. Unfortunate. :/
IMG_9076.jpeg

The Dante's: Been pushing these gals the hardest, averaging around 750PPFD for the last few days. They appeared to start budding at 6F, which seems very early, but we will see.
IMG_9077.jpeg

Having so much control and consistency in the environment has been quite the learning. Being able to keep our target VPD range locked in 24/7 has really allowed us to push harder than we have been able.

Thursday we pushed the PPFD up quite a bit since the environment was locked in better. The girls have been thoroughly enjoying it. All of them are over 600PPFD on average.

Friday we dropped the temps a bit. We were pushing 80-82F and were curious, more than anything else, to see how they would respond if we dropped it to 76-78F. So far so good.

Combined with the increase in PPFD and a drop in temps we thought it would be smart to push the VPD. Target is now 1.0 - 1.2

VPD: 1.1

Hard to say for sure, but it looks like that Grape Gas might benefit from some epsom. Looking a little like a Magnesium Deficiency there.

Otherwise looking good man.

Question about that, is that based on the new growth or old growth? The old growth got beat up a little...

When I transplanted them I gave the girls a heavy watering, but did not PH the water for a couple of days. All of them were upset, the grape gas and one of the Dante's (one with the Glitter Bombs) took it the hardest. Water was clocking in at 7.6 PH. Adjusted the PH and haven't seen anything major. Tips are a little fried but been trying to figure that out for ever lol.

Made a new water last night and added 40ml of Purpinator. While not Cal/Mag, it does have some Mag/Sulfate in it. Run Jacks with A 3gr/gal and B 2gr/gal and no Mag/Sulfate use the purpinator as a lazy PK boost and mag supplement.

I could see pH doing a number on them, so that makes sense too.

I'd keep an on on the new growth from her to see if the problem is persisting

I'm also not a soil guy so.... carry on 🤣

Hmm, was looking at older pictures and there does seem to be some signs the yellow got worse. New growth looks solid, but if it's a Mg deficiency then the new growth would look good and old growth would show more of a deficiency. I was thinking about what could cause a Mg deficiency and realized we have been pushing them harder than we have in previous runs. I've seen people commenting that LED lights magnify Mg deficiencies and figured that might be it. We don't run the epsom in our Jack's sooo yeah, lol.

In any case they're going to be getting more Mg through the addition of purpinator. Curious to see how this plays out.

Excellent bud growth for only 14 days in. Pushing the PPFD pretty hard now, most of the ladies are sitting at minimum 650 PPFD. PPMs are up slightly since we've started including 50ml of purpinator. Extra PK with a bit of Mg too. Also went from needed a humidifier to needing two dehumidifiers.
IMG_9100.jpeg

Glitter Bombs and a Dante's: couple of branches that are really trying their best to touch the sun the Dante's and one of the Glitter bombs. Girls are sitting at around 700 PPFD. Some spots hitting 850-900 but for the most part 700+
IMG_9101.jpeg

Donnie Burgers and the Grape Gas: Definitely a kamikaze in their midst as well. Once the stretchy ones are tucked this table can get a boost. It's sitting mostly around 650PPFD except that one branch getting like 1200. Once tucked will push them harder.
IMG_9102.jpeg

Dante's: These girls are getting the gas. Pushing at least 750 PPFD and most spots sitting around 800-825. Gotta admit these bar lights are pretty killer. Props to Spider Farmer on this one. Really even distribution of light. IMG_9103.jpeg

Solid bud growth. Excited to see how these girls turn out.

Since last update we've cleaned them up quite a bit more, upped the purpinator a bit and upped the PPFD. Temps and VPD have remained the same. Girls are getting a full 3L a day with about 10% run off.

Glitter Bombs + Dante's: Glitter bombs are putting on quite a bit of resin. Buds are compact and dense compared to the dante's so far.

IMG_9146.jpeg

Donny Burgers + Grape Gas: The Donny's stretched quite a bit more than the grape gas. The amount of vertical growth wasn't limited to the top branches. She just grows straight up in every way.

Dante's Inferno: These girls are under a Spider Farmer 1000W bar light and I can't say more positive things about this light so far. First run so we will see in the long run, but for now amazing. These girls are going strong. One plant got a bit more out of control than the other two, but even so, the difference in PPFD between those tops and the others is around 100~. Excited to see how these girls turn out. They certainly seem to be starting some audacious looking buds. Hope they continue.

We upped the PPFD on every table and most are sitting at around 800, while the Dante's is chilling comfortably at around 900+. Tips are lit on all plants. Might be pushing the purpinator a bit hard, not sure. Only using around 40% of max dose. It could also be due to the VPD being a tad high we think. In any case going to keep it here and see where we end up.
