A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

man no wonder you need an extra cup of coffee!!!!! hehe

ya know man you've been here a while now and you're almost through all the default titles under your name that change with street cred, you want a personal title at all? wood splittin coffee connoisseur??
Thanks but I kinda like it when they change, they're mildly amusing! 🤓

So I'm now officially 8 days behind when I wanted to up-pot these, they're not ready for a second topping so I'm going to try to transplant at least a couple of them overnight tonight and hopefully get them all done

I just got so much going on and gardening season hasn't even started yet, plus I'm turning 70 this year, I do my best but I can only do so much

These plants get another month maximum of veg growth than 2 months to flower and that will be May and June, it doesn't get hot up here till July and August maybe I'll just stop growing after this set and then I'll start again with some decent seeds in the fall

We have a dispensary in town that both grows and sells at the same location and it's only 50 bucks for a cannabis license up here, as long as I could buy something which I know isn't that Chinese poison which is so prevalent in this state I think I'd be okay with that, at least for now
I'll be harvesting this next crop early in August and each year I tell myself to plan better and veg only through July Aug ...nope....I dropped some seeds 2 nights ago , April into May to veg June July into Aug to harvest....yep...Good planning again this year...lol Hot and sweaty time to be drying plants....sigh

Update: 4/3

Last Plants Were Up-potted

Growing on carpet, I've just faced one of my biggest fears in the new grow room

I had a huge spill, thankfully it was dry not wet

A chunk of Pro mix big enough to fill 2 three gallon pots broke in half and went cartwheeling across the room landing under not one but two racks 🤣

I finally got it vacuumed, up thank God for my shark!

Edit: After the drama of the big spill I just realized I forgot to add perlite🤦🏻 oh well too late

It is hard to plan, I'm hoping that I'll be harvested by the end of June but who the hell knows, I'll probably have to cut the veg time to 2 weeks and flip them in the middle of this month if I want to harvest by the end of June

I get to find out whats popped and whats not in a few, its been 2 full days sitting in my tent in plastic containers in a box in the dark. Its kinda like a kid waiting to open Christmas presents....What have I got in there? all long tail? I'm giddy with anticipation.

After I whacked one last June I've been pretty cautious driving in some areas prone to deer. Just the other day 3 ran across the road 50ft in front of me so I slowed there might be 4 -5ft -10ft in front of me another ran across, wife screamed I hit the breaks as another ran across. Fkers almost got me again.

The whole group of them just about disappeared as soon as they got to the tree line, it's amazing how they blend in and they were just 50 -75 ft at the most in front of me

If you saw the drums of Chinese labeled chemicals dragged out in these local growhouse busts you'd grow your own too! 😡

What is the legal amount Maine residents are allowed to grow without a license? Here its 4 plants...period..no sprouts + 4 its 4 per household. If they would allow us as much as we want the illegal market would be gone, our neighbors would have a joint if we ran out so the illegal market would have few places to sell.

Well, I learned something today! Though it was just 3 plants, might need to tweak my growing style 🤔

I think its the bottom rule that is of most concern. The only way they'd get a guy growing more than 3 is if for some reason they get called to the property. Even then for home use medical as it is at our age, arthritis and all as long as the last rule isn't broken penalties would be a parking ticket. I didn't think they'd thrown no old guy into the slammer for 3-4 plants over the line.....at least that's what I'd tell my lawyer if it ever comes up

If you had a field full you should expect a visit sooner or later but for a couple plants its not worth the expense and paper work for police.

I'm always one to obey the law, so I just tossed one mature plant and started 12 seedlings! 🤣😂🤣

To me most laws are just suggestions not meant to be taken literally. I'f we always obeyed the laws we wouldn't be smoking pot at all. It would have been stamped out, we just push the laws to get it more accepted in general...Look at speed limits...To me only dangerous drivers drive the speed limit regardless of the circumstances. Gotta push that limit to make it safer for all of us driving the same road. 1 don't do100 in a 100 zone I push it to about 110 .....just a touch over.....I'm a rebel...lol...I have 5 in my 4 limit zone....lol..

Even if you only grow 3 mature plants it sounds like you are screwed if you harvest more than 2.5 ounces?
I can't say what NYs plant count is, but I thought it was 6 vegging and 6 flowering.
I also thought our weight limit was 5 lbs~!
2.5 ounces~! :ROFLMAO: Pretty clear they have no clue about how much 3 mature plants could yield.

I grow as many as I can fit in my room or make it from seed to germination.
I think I have 20 in my next round.
This last grow of 8 is the least I have grown since starting again.

I think that's what Massachusetts was, six plants, or 12 max if there were two+ people in the house, and 10 oz. Total weight

In Ontario Canada you can have four plants but your allowed to have unlimited weed at your residence. I get a medical license to grow at home yearly cost under 100 bucks and am allowed 150 grams in my pocket.

I was out in the ice storm this morning splitting some kindling and somehow a good size chunk shot straight down & hit me on the top of the foot and I was hopping around like the Three Stooges! 😂🤣😂 (that piece is in the fire right now btw)

Morning started off noticing one stack of rounds had fallen into the next, and of course as I tried to straighten it up five or six stacks took a dive, so that started the mood for the day 😡

I've got to split a lot of that wood anyway, so once I get the new wood up off the ground, on the skids and covered I can start splitting what fell over today, a lot of it's rounds and they don't stack well the way I had them anyway, they'll do better inside.

Anyway, finished clearing the skids for the cord and a half of wood that's coming tonight, so he can dump the new stuff on the skids

Not sure if wood guy's got more skids for me, hope soIMG_20250411_075644.jpg

I burn about 4 cords per season so I'm trying to get as much as I can put up before I have to start tilling the gardens, that just gives me the rest of this month and a little bit of next month to deal with 3 more cords

I'll get what fell over split and put away in the garage, pretty much filling it, then what's coming tonight will be stacked outside

Finally the next (and last) cord and a half I'll probably leave up on the skids till I figure out what the hell to do with it, as long as it's off the ground it'll be fine, I might just throw a tarp on it and leave it right there till November when I need it

I thought it seemed you were getting alot in a short period..
4 cord thats pretty danm good for where you are...Wow I burn that here. Yup my firewood pile needs some attention pretty quick or this fall/winter is going to be a pain in the ass

5 pounds! 🤯 Wow 😳

2.5oz here, wtf?? 🤷🏻 😂🤣😂
I mean they clearly don't know how much comes from one plant to only allow 2.5oz?
Or they don't understand the timing of a grow cycle.
2.5oz for 8 weeks could work I guess but that takes me back to when I was paying $300/oz.

I do think 5lbs is a little heavy and lord knows you are the man at growing IMO if you harvest 5lbs from 3 plants.

Had snow on the ground again today for the 3rd time this week~!

I used to do most of it in the fall, but it got to be too much at once, and the snow can come at any time here from October on

I've noticed that most folks get there wood delivered in the spring, so this year that's what I'm doing too, and whatever I don't get put up in the next month, I can finish a little bit here and there over the summer and have it squared away by the fall so I can enjoy a nice peaceful season

That's something, just 2.5 oz! I used to think that the 10 oz back in Massachusetts was kind of ridiculous! 5 lb is where it's at, that's what makes sense
