Allow myself to introduce....myself

PS - these are the 3 theme packages we are choosing from:

Maybe I'll make a poll to see which one the group likes the best.

I'm booked through Saturday night but can put in some time next week on this Moe.

If we make a decision and get it installed, there is some stuff I can do from here after closing most likely. I am hoping with the experience we got building this one, the repeat will go much smoother but famous last words right?

Don't take this all on bro, got you here.

Thx SLG.

I'm thinking Saturday morning just dive in if we have a clear winner. I posted a poll here:

I will try to do what I can before I go to work Saturday night or once we have a theme choice.
I appreciate it, but don't sweat it. I'll get it close enough so that everything is working, and then we will have plenty of time to tweak it. You can fit it in around your schedule.

Guess you are feeling better?

I am feeling much, much better than heave your guts out nasty, yes indeed! Thanks bro.

Weak from not eating for two days but catching up and getting some of that piss and vinegar going once again 😆

I feel like I need to take that slacker under Steam's avatar and put it under mine. I suck, I know lol.

We have another template picked out that has both a dark and light mode that the user can select. It's just going to make me change a bunch of other stuff that we worked to get set up on this template, so I've been procrastinating.

I'll try very hard to fit it in this weekend. I need to set aside a few hours to do it and deal with the issues that arise from the change. Maybe I'll postpone the dirt grow to get this done instead, enough people have asked for it I just need to do it.

I wish I could buy more hours in the day!
Hours in a day are fine, you need a couple more days in the week.

Moe don't think your not doing enough, im totally amazed what you and slg have done in 34 days.

34 days guys.

Welcome.

If you have a decent grow shop nearby, that stores their soil indoors, you're probably OK. The problems I've had with soil materials stemmed from poor storage outdoors. If they have a stack of FFOF on a palette for example, sitting out in the elements, the bags near the bottom can stay waterlogged for extended periods and lower pH drastically. The bags in the upper part of the pile might be leached of N.

Outdoor storage is also how soil becomes gnat-ridden.
Yeah pretty sure that's what happened with my mix currently, and it's my own damn fault because I knew the mushroom compost smelled off, like musty, and I used it anyway because I was so Gung ho to transplant before leaving town. Pretty sure it was last year's bags and they sat out all winter. That's definitely where the gnats came from. The ladies just didn't seem to be vibing as well as they should either, had some leaf issues popping up that shouldn't have been and the roots are not as robust as I'm used to seeing. Ugh. I up potted today, but not much I can really do as the shit soil is all throughout the rootball. This is why you listen to your instincts! They're getting evicted in 3 weeks anyway, so as long as they don't go to shit before then I don't care.

No you were not out of line at all. You said nothing negative about the sponsor. All you did was had the audacity to ask for help with plants you got from a sponsor. But the fact that the results might not look good for one of their sponsors means they go on attack. I work sales & that thread should have been archived as an example of how not to handle a small PR issue.

If you're going to delete the thread & ban the OP anyway just do it. Or make a post telling you to take it to DM with the seller & offer to mediate & lock the thread. You can tell the buyer to pound sand & ban him behind closed doors if you really want to go that route, and anyone else reading see's that when a buyer had a problem on the site you appeared helpful. What they did was ran their own name through the mud, costing themselves customers in the process (I can't be the only one that looked elsewhere after that thread) & then deleted the thread. But the damage had been done at that point.
Yeah I definitely saw that was going down and it was definitely unprofessional. Taking accountability for a fuck up is customer service 101, I don't care what your product is. They were trying to save his reputation I guess, but a reputation for bad customer service is just as bad if not worse than the original bad product if you ask me. Especially when that product could take out your whole grow and cost you hundreds to fix. Total bull how that all went down.

I wonder if site admin has a stake in vendor sales other than site support.......

I have no clue... but he sells a lot on the farm... probably just trying to avoid a PR nightmare with 50 people at once demanding refunds, and trying to save face and pretend it didn't happen.

I once got a bag of FFOF that was on sale. It was soaked and when I opened it up, it smelled like rotten egg. Then I went ahead and used it anyway, tossing in a little dolomite to make it all better.

It did not make it all better.

My favorite explanation that a stepdaughter used to use was, "The egg broke."

Ugh shitty... what issues were you seeing with it? I'm almost positive all my little issues are from that... but it's nothing major, few shitty leaves, subpar roots. I'm confident it will correct itself once they go in the ground. They've been in those pots with that mix for 4 weeks, I just transplanted from 1 to 2 gallons, which seems pointless, but I only need 3 weeks and I am short on space. I was expecting to find rootbound roots, but instead found sad roots and smelly dirt, smelly in a bad way, not nice compost smelly. And I definitely have not been overwatering, they've been going 4-6 days between waterings.

April Fool's born on date cracks me up.
Did that just for you.

As far as all the talk about $ - the site admin has no other employment. This is how he pays his bills 100%. So every penny is something to fight over and protect. Users are viewed as dollar signs only, and if you become a problem in that regard as perceived by admin, out you go. You can see how the unintended consequences of that arrangement make for places like this.

I don't think we are going anywhere, and only getting better. Welcome @SSgrower, our newest member. Hope you find this place inviting enough to stay.

On the bottom left corner of the page it says carbon.
Hit the carbon and this will pop up

Hit default style and the page turns white with black print.
I am not sure if that limits anything but it is how I have been posting and reading since almost the beginning.(y)
I can't do the black by choice either.
I would have never in my life figured that out lol. Thanks!! So much better!

After I get done Sunday with updates, you will be able to pick a proper light or dark theme.

Based on the feedback and all you old shits on this forum, looks like I am making the light mode default for everyone, and us cool people without cataracts will have to select dark mode.

That's the way it should be.

My grampa called it respect!

That was sorta what happened with mine they would sprout, but just stall. When I would finally give up on them I would dig them out & see what was happening & there would be like no root growth. I tried every version of watering & lighting with no change. Looking back on it though the way it took water (or should I say refused to take water) compared to some cheap miracle grow I should have known earlier that was the problem.

My issues were pH related in that grow. I'm sure there were multiple nutrients involved.

The plant tops were most affected. It was low pH, so my guess is that it could have been sulfur, if it wasn't from some lockout that excluded the micronutrient metals. I had multiple people try and figure it out, all of them shrugged.

So using the soil version of turning off the device and restarting, I shook off as much soil as I could from the roots and transplanted into non-bargain-basement, non-sulfur-pit-smelling soil.

Lesson: learned
Cost: harvest
Harvest: sucked
Potency: (y)
Kicked: myself

This is the interesting thing to me. Stresses seem to make great weed sometimes, even when the plant looks like crap.
One of the things I try and do as I progress into each stage of grow is toss in a stressor to push them into the next stage. When I flip to flower I drop PPFD. Seems to shock the plant into pistil sooner. Broscience? Maybe but I've noticed they seem to come in a little faster when I do that. Same in veg. About half way through I'll drop humidity HARD for a day or two then ramp it back up. I see growth spurts doing that but if you do it too much or too hard it'll stunt them.

I just did that totally by accident. I ran out of CO2 and didn't notice for 3 days. Tacoed the leaves up nice, they had all inputs to photosynthesis except CO2.

I don't expect that to be a good kinda stress tho. But crop steering is a thing, drought is a good one that has been studied.

Did a highly scientific trial myself using 4 different pheno, one being a stressed helmet head that was left to defend for herself removing the shell. She was the second best yield of the 4 plants.
Edit for picture 20210514_183637.jpg20210521_075703.jpg

From my pryor life look up soybean rolling trials.
A common practice found by accident
