The main objective of this grow, for me 👨‍🌾, is to see which variety will make the best medicine for my personal needs and taste. I will be growing 1 pheno (seed) of each cultivar in a side by side grow. All 4 will be getting the exact same everything, (as close as I can get) so all differances in the finished flowers will be genetic.
I will be using Paonia Soil's - The Bomb 50/50 mix, both as the 'base' soil and the Subcool's SuperSoil mix to add to The Bomb 'base' (bomb on super bomb). I have used that mix many, many times and so I feel very comphy growing 4 new varieties at the same time in it under the same light, same water soup and in the same tent.

So without any more babbelling, here are pictures of what came in the mail, yesterday. :geek:(y)o_O

Unopened, thank you Mr Customs man...!!!

Cannapot told me they had a 'no thc' cert, so I ask them to add a copy. Couldn't hurt, right? Very interesting ;) (full size, so you can read it)

And now for the seeds. I also ask for stealth shipping with the seeds in their original packaging. THANK YOU AGAIN, Cannapot, they came through!!!
I have them in paper towels, old school 👨‍🌾, in plastic bags that are standing up in a cup so that gravity can do it's thing, telling the root which way is down and the crown which way is up (way up, LOL).

At the request of Cannapot, I had SLG remove certain pictures, so certain statements make no sense now. No problem, just wanted readers to know.

Pictures of the THC Free cert were also removed. I appoligize for any stress my pictures have caused Cannapot. 👨‍🌾

It was time to begin to transplant seedlings last night 👨‍🌾. 3 of the 4 have nice long tails and the crowns have escaped the seed husk. The Strawberry Tree is a day or so behind, but has a nice tail and should be ready to transplant by tomorrow 🤞.
I've mixed the Mykos into 1 gal of the Bomb 50/50 soil at the '1 tbsp per 1-3 gal' of soil recomended rate, (bottom) watered in with straight RO and they are under a 4'x4 T5 fixture with 5000K LED's, with an 18/6 light cycle. Woohoo!!! :geek: (y)

The Strawberry Tree. I prefer to let them escape their seed husk in the paper towel with it's damp, 100% humidity. I hate trying to remove the seed husk by hand when I plant directly into soil or rooting cubes and it sprouts with the husk still covering the crown. Yes, I've broken off the crown trying to remove a dry husk in the past. Not with these seeds. I'll check it again tonight.

This is what I like to see. The crown/head with the cotyledons is free and clear of the husk and embrionic sack. The root has grown through the paper towel and I've read where some have tried to remove the seedlings tap root from the paper towel and broken off the root tip. One solution is to simply cut away the excess paper and plant. I hope this trick helps someone with transplanting seedlings from paper towel germination. 👨‍🌾

And here they are in their new home for the next week under the 5000K light this morning. Not much to see, but it's all good.

Root’s don’t like light. Think about setting those transparent cups into a solid colored cup that light doesn’t penetrate.
I put them into clear cups for the express purpose of being able to watch the root developement. ;) (first time using this brand of mycorrhizae)
I appreciate your statement that "roots" don't like light and agree, somewhat. Roots don't like algae on them and algae needs light to grow, so the common belief is that roots don't like light. In my humble opinion, the experiance I've had has taught me that as long as I am only in the claer cups for less than 2 weeks, I've never seen any signs of any algea growth. I have been able to monitor root development, without disturbing them, to determine when I want to up pot them.
So yes, root don't like the effects of what light will eventually do to them by growing algae on and all around them and if you are going to be growing in a 'cup' for more that 10-14 days, I would recomend the famous 'red' 32oz cups to keep any potential algae problems at bay.(y)👨‍🌾
To bad we can't "light prune" the roots, the same way we "air prune" them.

I like the idea of keeping them in the paper towels to keep the delicate tap root from breaking off when you're trying to free it from the paper towel. Just keep in mind to use the cheapest paper towels you can find. The higher quality ones use other materials to make them sturdier and make it harder for the new roots to break through. Maybe toilet paper would be better as it breaks down easier.

I agree with Freeze. Use another cup as a sleeve. The roots DO prune themselves in light just as they do in the air.

Things are growing along.
On Wed, 7/26 I transplanted them into their 5 gallon fabric pots w/Mykos. I use 3 x #1 pots of hot supersoil in the bottom and another 5 x #1 pots of straight Bomb 50/50 on top for a total of 8 pots worth of soil in each. 3 of the 4 are doing excellant. The 4th, the Captian Future just isn't as green as the other 3 and slightly slower in growth. Anyway, nothing to lose sleep over.
I took pictures this morning before I topped, and trimmed off the lowest 2 laterals on each. So 8 grow points on the 3 larger plants and 6 grow points on the CF plant. 👨‍🌾 :geek:

Well, I'm not dead, yet! and neither are the girls. Here is a picture journal of their progress over the past 70ish days.
Here the are on Aug 13th, 10 days after the previous post. Note the Captian Future in the front right. It had fallen way behind the other 3. I included another picture of how the leaves looked, anemic to say the least. The Sleepy Joe was also alredy showing it's mussles and is larger than the High Mars or the Strawberry Tree in the cluster of 3 pictured.
And before someone tells me it needs less intense light, magnessium, cal-mag, more N or Iron, I've tried each and every one of them, both foliar and root fed for the supliments. You can also see, it was set off into a cornner and out from under the direct light of the lamp. My diognossis for that plant was it has a genetic issue. It's just a wierd pheno that never came around, as you'll see. through out the rest of this thread

THese pictures are from Sept 19th and the girls are in bloom. The Captian Future and the Sleepy Joe were flipped to 12/12 on Aug 29, while the High Mars and Strawberry Tree waited 1 more week and were flipped on Sept 5th.

On Sept 24th I moved the Captian Future outside. Whatever it's issue is, it is clear that it will not produce much of anything, so I moved it outside and gave the HUGE Sleepy Joe the entire tent. The plant get direct sunlight for 2-2.5 hours a day and is in shade between the side of the house and the fence. While it has been outside, I have been shocked by how well it greened up. Here is what she looked like on the 24th.
I'm open to suggestions as to what caused her to be so anemic, if it isn't genetic?????? She looks fluorescent, WEIRD!!!

...and here she is today, inside the garage. We are at 31* outside this morning, so the pictures are with the light from the tent being open, but you'll see how much the leaf color has improved. I'm not sure what she would have done with more direct sunlight, but decided to error on the side of to little rather then frying her with to much sunlight.

And here are a few pictures from today, Oct. 15th of Sleepy Joe, High Mars and Strawberry Tree. Sleepy Joe is looking delicious and she is on day 47 of bloom. Her seed pack says 8-9 weeks, or 56-63 days, and that looks to be about right. Another 10-15 days I'm thinking will finish her off quite nicely. (y) 👨‍🌾

What a differance a week makes. Our temps fell Fri night and I had to move the Captian Future gal inside the garage. Fortunatly, it was time for Sleepy Joe to be harvested, so Saturday morning I moved Sleepy Joe out and Captian Future into the tent. So last night Sleepy Joe was harvested. This morning we have a couple inches of snow on the ground, so that worked out well. I was Curious George, so I popped a few of the tiny buds into our dehydrator @120* and half an hour later they were loaded into my S&G Plenty dish for a taste. 45 minutes later the verdict was in. WOW!!! That dish of flower took me places I haven't been in a long time. She was at 60 days of 12/12 and Anesia states 8-9 weeks (56-63 days), so I was pleasantly surprised that at 60 days, she was done, well done.
Enjoy the pictures 👨‍🌾 (y) :geek:

Here is my weird Captian Future in the tent I pulled Sleepy Joe out of. She has formed small buds. I'll just have to wait to see if the develope any more inside the tent. I dropped the lamp intensity from 400w Sleepy Joe was under to 300w and it's amost 2 foot above the canopy. If that still causes LED issues, then oh well, I tried my best. LOL, if you look closely, you can see several leaves that were eaten by grasshoppers while she was outside. As long as grasshoppers were the only insect to get on her.........????
Here she is this week....
