Few more pics, I'm thinking fungus gnats but I'm not hundred percent sure and if it is fungus gnats What's the easiest fastest way to get rid of them ?Hi everyone I seem too all of a sudden have an infestation of these in my tent can anyone tell me what it is ?View attachment 119109
Thankyou pal, my initial thoughts are fungus gnats too but I'm not too sureFungus gnat, maybe. Looks like something I knowingly and wrongly lump into the drain fly category. I'm just guessing, though. Definitely not an authority on these things. Hopefully someone who can give you a real answer will post up.
FWIW, I had something that looked similar get into my house plants. From reading around I found some flying pests lay eggs in the damp soil and it can help to let the top layer of soil dry back. I watered in some neem oil and that ended my issue pretty quick.
I just had that one experience with something similar. Google mentions drying back the top layer of soil, a peroxide wash, neem oil, mixing dish soap with your water... Someone here will have real experience in a grow tent environment like yours to share, tho.Thankyou pal, my initial thoughts are fungus gnats too but I'm not too sure
Hey, I've never really had them bad so I don't know how my method would work with an infestation but I use fans over the top of the pots after I scrape the top inch of soil from around the edges then fans. I read one time it stops them from flying and therefor mating. It seems to work for me. I add the fans at the first sign of flies around the edges of the pots but that sucker looks bigger than what I've hadHi everyone I seem too all of a sudden have an infestation of these in my tent can anyone tell me what it is ?View attachment 119109
I use bothPeople use yellow sticky traps.
I use Mosquito Bits
Thankyou budPeople use yellow sticky traps regularly to help. They only catch the flying ones.
It is best to get them before they fly in the soil where they grow and can do damage.
I use Mosquito Bits and a squishy crystal like product that is live nematodes.
You're looking for a product with BTI.
Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis
Fungus Gnats BTI
Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (BTI) is a naturally occurring bacterium that is effective in controlling fungus gnat populations. It is non-toxic to humans, pets, and beneficial insects, making it a safe option for indoor gardening. BTI can be applied in various forms, including granular products, teas, or soil drenches. It is particularly effective when used alongside other methods like sticky traps to enhance control. Regular monitoring and adjustments are key to long-term management of fungus gnats.
Thanks budGoing by your second and third pics I guess fungus nat.
