Prolly gonna 3D print another riser piece for the drain part so it floods a tad but deeper. I'm also gonna need a bigger water rez whicvh I may just use another buckets and uni seal the two buckets together to double the volume.

Man that pic really takes me back and it's funny because I got out my pond tub and cleaned it up thinking about aquaponics again.
I'm also thinking about painting the inside of the pond with blue pool epoxy and turning it into a cowboy pool for cooling off this Summer. The cowboy pool might win out bro.
I see myself a little like this over the Summer

I know what you mean about the screen size. The 10" in that cab is like when I put our old living room TV, a 55", in our bedroom. It's huge and obnoxious at first then I get used to it.

Well shit man if you need a quality head unit I got one! Turns out my issues were just cheap ass Best Buy installation connections and wires but my head was just fine.
It's a Pioneer 7" and should fit your Xterra. Might need a wiring harness from Crutchfield or something for ez connections ad a trim piece for the dash maybe but yeah, check out the specs...
https://usa.pioneer/products/dmh-15...Wp-jLhIXkuwdRNIxxh3SsligmDbhECuZeskdW06pix7ir

I have a harness that the Maestro replaced but it looks like it's only for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles.
I also have the pair of Memphis Audio 6x9 components with crossovers and tweeters but TBH, I may have worn these the fuck out. They never knew low volume and stayed loud when on. They can sound good but also sound bad. Coulda also been the wiring and connections but there's also a little bit of rust around the metal frame so I just ordered the Alpines to start fresh

Ummm. Yeah. The sonic cleaner has definitely seen better days. I bet I could take a dab off it with the hot knife. Been eying a bigger one on amazon for a spell. Maybe it's time. But for now this dude is getting all my gear readied up for the weekend

New stuff going in

It's time! 4/20 chop Y'all!!!!
This here is unknown hybrid and she'll be the first to fall tomorrow.
Hopefully I remember the buckets I have stashed at work because I plan on washing my buds this round and I have super clean sterile buckets at work for that job.
Colas will be kept and hung dry by tradition as well as some secondaries but the majority of this haul will be chopped and frozen immediately then a day or two later ran thru the freeze dryer

Next level smoke and vape gear cleaning dude!
Yeah I put 70% iso in there I buy in bulk at costco. It heats the iso and also creates a sonic action that dissolves grime and tar then leaves parts and pieces looking like new again. About 2-3 480 second runs is all it takes then rinse in warm water.
I want a bigger one though and am probably gonna buy this one at some point

Yes!!!
I love it loud

Got a loud noise ticket at 19 when I turned it completely off 3 blocks away from the cop! Lol

Been following your upgrades, nice!
I have a new android head unit I need to put in tomorrow, party on dude!

Thanks man! I'm loving the way it sounds now!
The 6x9 boxes were frowned upon at the shop but I like the boxes for function because I gave them extra wire in the back to be pulled out and set on the roof or in the bed when we go to drive in movies or tailgating.
Just super happy I finally have the system I've always wanted since my first car really.;rockb

Happy 420 Buddy! Hope you and yours are having a stoney one!!

Yes Sir I freeze dried then squished. Live rosin.;pervert
The extraction lab was put into action this weekend...

IMG_1147[1].jpeg

Also rolled a doob and have a dry herb vape arriving tomorrow to try with freeze dry herb.
Next method will be distillate and dry sift with tumbler and screens looking for best results.

It's different man. I think I finally get it with "live" extracts now.
The high is extremely intense but short with flower or dab and the dab is one hitter quitter.😵
A new learning curve is at hand with the squish from temp to time and bag. Basically back to kindergarten on the squish.

Well no cup this weekend but I was ready Dude. Thursday-Saturday were long hour late nights for me so I DVR'ed trucks and NXS.
Somehow I managed to avoid all race news and watched trucks this morning and NXS this evening so I got my fix.
The Rock shredded the NXS cars man! I think they were almost too fast for that track. No way Cup could race there.
Collected my points though so, groovy. How you doing there? I got a Xfinity 10x streak bump of 125 after check in on top of 63 and now I'm at 3634 on the year.

Happy 420 Brother!
Enjoying the rare day off here with good weather and great smoke!

Doc said no more dairy and I was bummed out about that until one day walking the frozen dessert aisle hoping for an option other than sorbet  or chalky fruit bars 🤮
I came across a small section of non dairy options. My life will never be the same.;shock

That really makes for some cool photos. Finishing with 24/7 UV light is an experiment, right? Will the results not be available until the buds are cured and smokeable? I can't remember if you send any samples off for THC content testing. Do you have a baselines for any of these strains to compare to?

Whatever you have going on here, your crop sure looks gorgeous.

It's an experiment in the closing days. Some real ;fafogoing on when I only get two days before harvest every grow so the window is tight to do something regarding finishing and my something is messing with UV.
No danger of flipping to reveg and I'm about 100% certain reveg light or leaks do not cause hermies so yeah why not let it rip with the UV and soak them in it right before chop!!??
So far from what I can tell the effects are a late swell surge, some yellowed leaves are bleaching to white, and the stink is really pouring on mixing an aroma of a butcher shop and bakery making roadkill mincemeat pies or something. Pretty gross but also smell good kinda funk.

I have in-house potency testing for a lot of stuff that's done in an effort to increase potency. It's all put to the test after the grow. There's tests before and after cure and tests I do comparing various drying conditions methods.
Like one example coming soon are flower parts from the same flower being divided then one freeze dried, one hung dry in a cool space, and one Herb Now machine dryer dried to see any difference between the three.
So far, excluding freeze dry, what I've found there is potency really isn't affected all that much between drying methods.
It's like two people driving from LA to NY. One takes a northern route and the other takes a southern route but they both end up in NY. I find drying techniques to be like that and at the end of the day it's simply preference for the grower and not any science that says one is better than the other. So that's how I often use my potency testing to streamline operations.

Thanks for the info @Bandit420! You definitely have a lot of cool stuff going on. Tweaking and experimentation will be the fun part for me, if I figure things out and settle into a repeatable routine. It’s fun to watch you and the other guys here, until then.

Thanks for sharing your process and the ideas you’re working on.

Sure man anytime!
Once you have a space dialed in and predictable genetics then the fun begins with experiments to improve whatever you feel needs improvement if any.
I like working with light and air to improve my garden more than anything but others will search out improvement in the form of nutes or maybe even CO2 supplements to the air. Never any harm in giving one plant a booster and the other nothing to see if it really does the job it claims.
It's kinda weird because for all this fancy lighting and tech I throw at a garden here my nutes are still simple tomato and veggie food with some other ocean borne goodness mixed in there. None of it claims to be a bloom booster or any of that but it performs like that expensive formulated stuff so seeing that keeps me from trying to improve with nutes and stay on the path of lighting being the key on top of great genetics.

Collected the first week of data and I'm not gonna change anything much.

Screenshot 2025-04-24 003056.png

Mostly watching temp. It's lights on/lights off swing is consistent every day and plants are falling into a daily cycle of activity with that and the light timer. RH will swing with the temp and weather so I'm not paying much mind to it swinging. If it locked up too low or too high then I might make a change but the swing is welcome. VPD is pretty much being ignored.

Printing a taller stand pipe and will use a much larger reservoir but that's it as far as adjustments. Looking to get a little deeper on the flood and maybe triple water capacity.
Intake and exhaust are both passive right now and I'm not seeing any data showing they should go active.
Vents are open and a fan is on at around 60% blowing on the lights so they don't get too hot.
Maybe by the time the weekend is over I'll have given them the first feeding and have started sculpting.

@Bandit420 hey! I'm tossing around the idea of getting a press to make concentrates and my own carts.

Any advice or recommendations?
This is something you do right? I'm a tight ass and i like to know exactly what is in the stuff I'm consuming, plus it's always great to be more self reliant, are the reasons I'm considering

I've gone thru a few from cheap to hi end and recommend something pretty much in between.
Plate size equates to what size bag you can use which will also give you a target yield per squish. I'd say if you have plates that are around 4"x4" you can use large bags that yields about 1 gram per squish on average. The smaller you go, the smaller the bag and yield.

There's a few brands around worth buying and Nugsmasher is at the top of that list. The Nugsmasher XP is probably the best going around that has everything you need in a high quality press out of the box and it's not undersized.
I have the NG Touch which is the XP but with a computer and it will be the last press I buy. Fits all my needs and has a lifetime warranty so I'm pretty much married to it.
There's also Dulytek, BVV, and others that for the most part will be a step down from Nugsmasher. DIY is also very possible and about 1/2 the cost of plug and play.
If you have a good air compressor where you would be squishing then maybe a pneumatic rosin press would be an option for you.

To optimize each squish there's an algebra equation I'll have to dig up but it's an equation that syncs up hydraulic pressure at the jack, bag size, and material pressure. My press does this math since it has a computer in it but what this equation does is optimize the pressure per square inch on the plates so you get max yield without blowing out a bag. You load up the press and bring the pressure gauge up to the set point and hold it there not going above or letting it fall.
To complete the equation or to actually use it, you'll need a press that has a jack or air compressor with a pressure gauge built in or one you can add which is ez if you have a drill press & tap & die set.
With that gauge then everything becomes ez and your only nuance will be what temp and how long you press and that's where the art of it comes into play because it varies from strain to strain.
You start at a base line of say 190*F for 3 minutes and go from there tweeking it until it's perfect.
A press without a pressure gauge is a lot of trial and error. Wasted bags and weed trying to learn the art of it. That's why I rec a pressure gauge because it's almost like having the answers to a test before you take it.
But yeah man rosin is my favorite hash of all of them. Solventless so it can be organic and of all the solventless methods out there it usually results in the most flavor and potency

Blast from the past right there!
Turbo Garden by Yours Truly prolly around 2010-2011
OG

I came across it cause I've been searching 6 different grow forums trying to find "true" HPA growers....there's few of us lol, not that mine is necessarily "true"......Yet...
I think that was coco in flood and drain with H&G nutes and T5HO lighting

Looks like it.

Fan of Nugsmasher also and owner of an XP.
I agree with Bandit and feel the gauge makes a difference.
Plate size matters and I think the XP is 4x6.
Beyond the lifetime warranty Nugsmasher is a 'diamond' per say.
They will give you 80% purchase price credit if you choose to upgrade in the future.
But the XP or the Touch are likely most peoples top end and good enough for all but the true pro IME.
