Welcome to this show and tell display of my current and upcoming grow projects.
Feel free to ask any questions and since I've created a title to try and direct bot traffic..If you're new to the site for the first time you're in good hands for any kind of home grow, medical, recreational, or cash crop project you have on your mind with this crowd here. Sign up and create an account, introduce yourself, and join on in!

This will be a 3 strain poly-hybrid grow except for the 3 pack of autoflowers which are being used for a germination experiment.

I've sourced seeds from four different banks for this grow.
Each of these banks came thru in timely fashion with freebie seeds and other fine swag. Nothing bad to report and would/will repeat business with all of them.
Mandala is in Spain, ships from France, so add about 3-6 weeks extra shipping time ordering from them if you're in the USA.

Great Lakes Genetics ~ Bodhi
Mandala Seeds ~ Romulan
Lumberjack ~ Ocean Grown
Growers Choice Seeds ~ White Label

This aint Grandma's raised flower bed Y'all.

Hydraulics and hydroponics (insert man grunt here)
It doesn't look like much but she's a beast of a grow machine. Simple flood and drain technique as old as ancient Egypt and Nile River hydro systems but made modern AF.
Of course it's highly customized and made to fit me and my needs.
It's what's come to life after years of trying different methods of growing our favorite plant. Many factors have gone into it from space to operating costs.
Part of what makes growing weed so fun is finding your own personal journey thru gardening.
I've finally settled on a racing themed flood and drain system on a hydraulic lift bed. Shit happens ya know!

IMG_4052[1].jpeg

I'll go ahead and let that simmer for the bots but also, I'm not in any real hurry so kinda slow burning on this one. Hope to have seeds wet in the next few hours though.
Lights, medium, and nutes will be described in future posts.

This will be a no veg 12/12 from the start grow so I'm thinking seed to weed in about 80 days, no more than 100.
All seeds are regular and there will be some selective and isolated pollination so I'll be looking to harvest seeds and sensi from this crop.
Hope ya stay tuned for the show! It should be a good one!

I don't like bending over either...never considered hydralics.
The imagination races...

A pair of bulging discs in my lower back and shoulder & neck issues has made me into a mobility impairment enthusiast when it comes to the bending and lifting needed during a grow.
It's hard for me to manage plants especially when they're small when they're on the floor. I need a table.
I used to start on a table then move to the floor when I grew in soil. Once they were on the floor I couldn't really do much other than water and rely on taking pictures to do exams. Often times doing that, if I got bugs or mites, I would be weeks behind controlling it because I didn't see it sooner.

Things transpire and eventually I switched it to hydro. It would be hempy buckets or a flood table and I really liked the idea of a table so here it is!
It's a sort of upside down grow room where the plants move up and down but the light is mounted in a fixed position and does not move up or down.

The hydraulic table isn't the only mobility impairment amenity in the room either.
I don't carry water and instead pump it into the room from an outside barrel to the barrel inside the room. This saves me a lot of back pain.
I've also worked with a use light winches to move lights up and down via remote control. My main light is fixed but the other 3 are on winches.
The flooring is anti-fatigue so it's padded really. If I need to get down on the floor, it's soft and I can crawl around like I'm wearing knee pads with no pain.
Some devices have been made wireless to eliminate wrangling wires in the rafters which is more of a pet peeve thing with me and wires than it is about limited mobility but it is nice to not have to get up on a ladder to mess with wires anymore.

I nominate this guy to take over Zombie's previous role of social media man. Where did that guy go, anyway?

As an electrician, my grow pains me all the time. Eyes on the floor is how I handle it best. I seem to always be setting up in a hurry, excited to get the next round going or antsy to implement something new. Then I just don't get around to tidying up once everything is up and running.

I suppose it falls in line with that old trope of tradesmen never wanting to work on their own house. I had a ceiling fan just sitting in my closet for nearly a decade. It stayed with the house when I moved. I wonder if the new owners ever got around to putting it up...

I look forward to the day where I take the time to actually build out a permanent setup and can perform the cable management that my slight OCD desires.

Eyes on the floor... I'm just here to grow some weed.

You are not alone with the rotten back.
I did this, a turntable(lazy Susan) for my 3x3 to save me reaching...added the capillary mat, happy with the result.
CBD gummies made a huge difference for my back & hip, I'm a true believer.

are you gonna trry to set up the time lapse?

i said it the other day, wish he was BB's marketing guru!!

i never knew Zombie and assume that social media stuff fizzled out real quick when he made all the accounts and nobody else could log in and update but him. i have no idea.. i do know i recently removed most of his special access to the site though.

I have a couple ideas for two new threads that can create traffic that will happen.
The VG thread will come back but way better and cleaned up and I'll use it to recruit reddit with a burner account.
Also an intro to get this site on the list of forums.

I do pay a ton of attention to trends because I've started a few. When I launched an airpot thread in 2011, it brought every grower who searched them out and resulted in like 150K people following an airpot grow. Now look at airpots lol.
You actually have the ability to do something similar with those curing machines.
That's new tech lots of people are interested in but at a price point most need more info about before buying. That's where you come in.
I'd start a thread titled Cannatrol vs V-cure with more detail specifics on models, precise spelling, etc and you guys with these machines simply post your experiences. You don't need to influence or really even give two fucks about what people choose. It's about getting clicks and then getting those people to click more and sign up simply because they started out searching info on a curing machine.
I may do something similar with the Harvest Right freeze dryer and Nugsmasher. Just using key words to be an internet traffic cop, maybe pick up a new grower or two.

You're also not alone with things like that ceiling fan. My bathroom sink sat boxed in a spare room for 7 years and the shower for two years in the carport before I got around to finally remodeling the bathroom🙃

Growers creep and rebuilds never stop man. There's always something. Nowadays I find myself downsizing some things when for years it was constant build bigger and better. Now it's build more streamlined and user freindly above all. Maybe age has something to do with that.
The crazy thing is I went from an 8'x4' footprint amd 1600 watts to only 3x3 and 750 watts but the 3x3 can double the yield of the 8x4 and do it a month faster using hydroponics

Very nice solution! Stoney has a turntable for the ages you might be interested in I always thought was super cool.
Many people growing at home have mobility issues and I feel it's something missed by the entire indoor gardening industry. The industry acts like it's demographic is 22 year old men when the majority at the local hydroshop here buying stuff are over 40 and many are elderly.

Ha I thought of you when I was hunting down my OG Kush cut!
Not only is it an alien sex party but I think it's a VaderOG so we got Sith and OG and Aliens in there for all kinds of nastiness!!!

Yeah gonna do the timelapse and everything...even a DIY old school Xbox case drop! The VG thread will be next level man.

Hell yeah, run it, love the Egyptian Nile farming call back.

Invented by the Greeks and perfected by the Egyptians! They grew weed too! All the talk is about wheat but right there along with it was marijuana, cash crop of the ancients.
Another fun culture to get into are ancient Mayans and Aztecs. They invented raft hydroponics, growing corn on rafts floating on lakes. Like the first example of aquaponics.

ancient societies & agriculture/ ancient history is one of my interest\areas of research.

cannabis/seeds have been found in Egyptian artifacts/ceremonies/burials, w/e

wait till the ice melts, so much history beneath, waiting.

""Ancient mountain cultures definitely used mist and fog for agriculture. The Nazca and coastal Peruvian civilizations built fog catchers — nets that collected moisture from coastal fog and channeled it to crops. Called "lomas" agriculture.

In the Andes some researchers believe certain stone agricultural structures may have been designed to collect condensation and morning fog in addition to channeling rainfall.

The Cherokee and other North American mountain peoples understood fog belt agriculture — planting in specific elevation bands where fog provided consistent moisture.""

interestingly...

The cloud forests of Colombia and Peru support wild cannabis and coca at elevations where fog is the primary moisture source. Those plants developed specific adaptations — heavy resin production being one of them. Resin is partly a response to UV at altitude and partly moisture management.

read of a story of a culture doing this, once, but finding "Validity" is not coming up.

Hell yeah.

Lots of haters on Reddit but I've mailed off two VGs to curious individuals. So many people just argue that it's a gimmick and I'm like "but it's free?"

I've had a couple VG posts there get some traction though, and the negative comments are still a form of engagement so the post gets seen by more. I'll be making another one soon, showing the transition from VG to Hydro. I absolutely loved the medialess (what @Stoneyluv calls going commando) approach from my last run. No more hydroton will save quite a bit of hassel.

Growers creep and rebuilds never stop man. There's always something. Nowadays I find myself downsizing some things when for years it was constant build bigger and better. Now it's build more streamlined and user freindly above all. Maybe age has something to do with that.
Streamlined is where my focus will be for the final build. It's taken a couple iterations to really figure out where I can make things easier/better. I'm getting there though.

This is wild.
It's called dialed.
Boosted yields.
Bandit's for real.

You know it's impressive when it inspires some poetry.

I'm in a 4x8 now. I can't wait for a single row of plants so I can easily access them all. My back plants suffer when stuff starts getting sticky.

they a bunch o' retards, that VG to LPA/HPA/Fog makes the process so simple, and unless you break it, its unlimited use.
i rooted a plant in some coco, moved it over to fog, it died lol.

if i root a plant in the VG, move to fog, itll live. something with the root zone morpohology here, it had no reason to die, it could uptake water through the leafs, the roots looked fine, not exactly sure why but im around it, i popped more in the vg, ill move those over to the shitty fog chamber lol

ya know you were the very first person i saw use content tags back in the day. that may have very well been one of those airpot threads you're talking about.

around that time i was all new to forums, spent a short amount of time at rollitup.. got ripped off by that dude at GLH leds.. and somebody directed me to your site, i went there posted in the introduce yourself and you were the first person to reply... the rest is a cloud of smoke!!! ;budi

Ha I thought of you when I was hunting down my OG Kush cut!

Yeah gonna do the timelapse and everything...even a DIY old school Xbox case drop! The VG thread will be next level man.

that cut just sounds way to epic of a genetic cross... i sure hope it lives up to all the luv!!!! high hopes man!!!

so i've been thinking about this clear VG.. i'm thinking in time lapse the tap root is gonna look like a bowling ball going down one of those kids lanes where they have the bumpers on the sides!!!

i can't wait to see the fish bones start to develop, i'm not sure i've ever seen a time lapse even go that far!!! really stoked for this!!

Like the first example of aquaponics.

i often wonder how it would be... i mean the aqua duct runs just outside your house all the time.. just go out and fuck around all the time!!!! i wonder if the rest of the growers would get mad if somebody dumped nutes down it? hahaha they'd make me live at the bottom!!!! hahaha thats okay, less steps!!! haha

when i read history i try to imagine myself in that time and what i'd be like maybe... most if nor all are comical thoughts!!

I absolutely loved the medialess (what @Stoneyluv calls going commando) approach from my last run. No more hydroton will save quite a bit of hassel.

i so wanna grow commando in the new system!!!! part of me feels bad leaving my trix balls behind... but i am starting from clone. i'd have to use my aero cloner though, i don't have one of those patented grump mother humpers to start mine in!!

what size net cups are you using again?

grump mother humpers
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

what size net cups are you using again?
I'm using 4" netpots but they measure out closer to 3.75"

The 3" collars fit right into 2" pvc fittings so that's where I start the seedlings. Then move them to the 4" collars for the hydro setup. I'll be upgrading to a 3" mainline for the mother humper that will drop down to a 2" line for clones. I'd have to be WAY more proactive about trimming roots if I want to keep mothers in the 2" setup. Realistically... I'm sure they'll eventually clog whatever sized pipe they're in, but I'd like to mitigate the plugs and impending flood as much as possible.
