Chocolate Chunk + Purple Hindu Kush in Flood & Drain coco/perlite by Bandit420

Yeah the light on the controller was the idea... But I'm not sown to it...I'm not sure but I think stoney was saying his plug glitched out a couple times, I don't know if they're the same though.

ACI has a chart for conversions for different lights for their controllers, chords, plugs, ect...

Ideally trying to figure out what best run off the controller for my space, and what goes with it
I had trouble with this model:

IMG_0211.jpegIMG_0210.jpeg

I had a HPS light plugged into it. It worked flawlessly until we experienced a series of power outages. Everything would power up when the electric came back online except for this. I'd have to reset the 69 Pro controller to get it working again. Happened twice or maybe three times a few days apart and I swapped in a mechanical timer. Could have been something I set up wrong, but ai couldn't find anything like that. I didn't look 👀 into it, but maybe it isn't rated for the draw from an old school light???

My first and only tent, so far, is a Gorilla. I haven't been blown away by the quality either. I haven't said anything, because so many people recommended it that I assumed it was a one-off situation. Even has a port I can't use because the double sleeves are stitched together. No big deal, I just had higher expectations. I'm situating some stuff for a little grow here soon. I'll have to get in and check for light leaks.
💯 feel ya bud....

However...the light leaks i have have not been a problem, I don't even think about it anymore....💯 truth!!.....

Know I could go off on tents in just general....
I knew not to expect anything out of normal.

One of my zippers broke off half way the first run.
That's part off all the crossbar, so that fabric doesn't stretch anymore than it needs to..

At 5×9 at the time it's was big enough, I give it a B in overall use here.

It'll work for what it is for know

Thanks man...I'll keep my timers handy....not sure if the hids light has anything to do with it.

That's 3 glitchs....idk

Breeding has been the biggest reason I've played with trying to hermie plants. Colloidal silver is doing the same thing but with chemicals. Seems like it could be a useful tool if could be controlled. Some kind of sock to slip over a branch and blast it with light to hermie it.
If onl;y it really was that ez hahaha.
I try to do the same with stretch and work with it instead of against it. Basically any negative or hurdle to growing, I try to flip the script and make it an advantage.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I got those parts and tried to use them to connect CLW to ACI and it won't work.
They're kinda lying by omission with that.
What it really means is there's an adapter to convert UIS to RJ11 and will allow you to control Spider Farmer, Mars, and Viper lights using the Samsung EVO set up.

All three of those brands are under the same umbrella and advertise or act like they're the only grow equipment suppliers on Earth.
It's weird how they don't recognize that there's other brands of lights and operate in this sort of isolation but yeah if you asked them about connecting to CLW, Gavita or others with Rj11 connection, they'll act like you're from another planet and those lights don't exist.

The ACI plug can have it's share of gremlins. One of mine was wonky but I suspect it was due to a worn and weak breaker that was always tripping. After I replaced the breaker, the gremlins in the plug moved out.
The two I'm using have been flawless since, knock on wood.

ACI is also coming out with that new power strip and it would work.
Other than the CLW controller designed for it or using something like an Alexa style smart plug, I think you're stuck using a traditional timer.

BTW...How you liking my guy Byron Murphy? Yeah I see your Seahags with that 10-3 and playoff bound record!
You got them Longhorns on your roster!
I keep telling Stoney, the Raiders need some Horns. You see their abysmal record without any Longhorns and you know who leads that division? The Donkeys and you know what the donkeys have? Lots of Longhorns!!!!:ROFLMAO:

That's really cool to read man! Viva La Bud Builders!!!

I'm gonna do a tear down& detail on my peak now thanks to you! Take the mystery out of it for me at the very least.

I've kinda settled in on so much in how I want to see my grows happen but a few more stones I'd like to overturn are high brix cannabis which I remember Moe posting some about and lights on time.
High brix in flowers could be something to look at to increase terps, oil yields, and potency. He got me all excited about going down that rabbit hole then gone!!
Lighting...I just feel like 12/12 is outdated with the new tech. 10/14 @50DLI just gave me monster flowers. I might take that down to 8/16. Serious savings on the light bill right there and increase or keep yields the same? Sign me up!!!

He was also into tissue culture and I've been watching some things about that. It may take several of us to pick up on the things Moe left off on hahaha! Like instead of running back by committee, we'll need to to grower by committe to finish some of that stuff!

Man...You got me nervous about the 3S now!
You'll have to clue me in on what you get for your Losi. I kinda like the speed as is but am always looking for grip.

Yep, downsized!! Like that movie Stepbrothers...So much room for activities!!!

It's in germination configuration today.
One table but with two lifts so it's like Dr. Dre rapping about his 16 switches, 🎶🎶front back side to side and all that shit!🎵🎵
Reducing plant capacity from as many as 18 down to only 9.
Footprint for root zone is only 3'x3' but canopy footprint has a 5'x5' potential.
Downsized or streamlined, that's what I've done but now I have access to all 4 sides of the grow and not just the front.

I'm not sure I could just stop growing. I don't need any weed but do love to grow it and really, could use a fat stash of haze to match the new fat stash of indica but beyond that, even if it's just one plant, I'm always gonna have something growing year 'round.
I think 2 grows a year would set me up fine for supply but it's just fun so why not downsize a bit in a sort of cruise control, content with everything and the plan I have going forward.

I've circled back to some things that to me, kinda signal the search is over and just have some fun growing weed.
I've chased genetics and found after all this I'm content with a really good indica and a haze. It doesn't need a story, come from a famous breeder, cup winner status, or even be tested since I don't do that anymore either. I know good pot and that's enough for me. I went down this rabbit hole looking for cookies and all that new stuff only to come back home to a good ol Afghanis and silver hazes being the faves.
When I shop for seeds now I look for one main bit of criteria...was it around before social media? If yes, then it may get my money. If it's a no, stay away.

Curing & drying..I like what I do there and the things I have to do it.I'd bet there's better but this works great and gives me what I'm looking for. That search is over.
That's like growing method too..all about preference. Nothing will move me off hydro-organics. IDK if it's the best way to grow and don't care. It's too fun for me to stop.
Have always loved flood and drain and ended up coming back to it after Lord knows how many different things I've tried out.
I wouldn;t trade any second of the journey or any of the experiments and failures for anything because without them, I would not have come full circle on so much.

With that...my last go at UV! It's make or break for the pretty blue lights!
Good fit. Not perfect but good. Got 'em strapped in with metal zip ties.
Pulse has dropped off again so I can't measure spectrum or PPFD. Fuckers.
Dims from 14 watts to 103

Bougie is fine in small doses but so much of that is not what it's cracked up to be at all!
Festival crowd has really changed in recent years. Too many influencers and live streamers creating content and basically ruining any good experience. Cant go to a show without everybody having a phone up. People have such FOMO they'll miss something, they pee themselves and it's acceptable so a bunch of people smell like pee. Rude people beyond belief!!! Litterbugs are prolly my biggest peeve.
There's still moments of awesomeness but it can easily be ruined and overshadowed by an assclown.
It's getting to be like that at football games too. But then again, I could just be getting old and grumpy about young crowds lol.
Not like that at races though. It's more like family there and no matter the age, every person is thrown back to being a 10 year old kid.
Heck, yeah! The change up for space and access makes so much sense. It may be even sexier, now. I think I get why you've made the changes, based on need alone. Why reach and put in extra effort for more than you need? Similar thoughts dampened my urge to set up a larger grow space ASAP. I still want to develop a solid indoor set-up, but current outdoor and indoor grows more than meet my needs already. It'll be good for me to take my time, get some experience and put some thought into what I really want out of a grow space. Well... I want complete and total control. So, more experience to learn how I want to go about achieving that.

No surprise from a noob, but I'm impressed with the number of plants you and others here grow for the given amount of space. My brain has wanted to see things opened up, light and airy, for my early efforts. No reasoning. Somewhat askew instincts, maybe.

The two I'm using have been flawless since, knock on wood.
I've been using them since I started growing. I've only had troubles with the one running my space heater. I've been able to mitigate that by setting it to half the wattage. It seems to work fine on 1500w for a bit, then fails closed every time. Even the new ones after they said they'd run it by their engineers.

Very interested in the power strip...

I picked one up a little while ago for future use. I hope it’s just a one off issue. Have you tried it on anything else since then?

No. Fucking. Way.
I'd trust that sumbitch switching 1800 watts!
I'm pretty sure 1800 watts would melt that thing!!!
See...It's shit like that, that gives me trust issues.
Why they even stamp that on there? I pity the fool who plugs 1800 watts into one of those and doesn't have something inside them that says this is a really bad idea.

Anyways, yes those plugs can be evil and definitely needs to be redesigned and made heavy duty or commercial grade.
Most have a love hate relationship with them. I don't trust it at all with anything overly important.
So while I use it for my veg light, I would not use it for flowering. It could fuck up a crop with it's glitches.
I wouldn't trust it for irrigation either.

There's some things about AC Infinity, forgive this little rant, are fucking bullshit and designed or made for somebody living in an apartment or dorm with central AC and heat and running a micro grow of like a single autoflower or some shit.
It's not made for serious, get down and dirty, balls to the walls, commercial grade, heavy duty, kickin' ass ganja farmin'.
It's often flimsy and cheap, kinda works for what I need, better than nothing, hope for the best, only option around type grow gear we have to tolerate more than enjoy using. The plug is the gawd damn standard bearer of that type of gear.

The room looks soooo empty! Feels wrong some how. 🤔

Give it 100 days from today. It'll be full again. With weed!!! :ROFLMAO:

My first and only tent, so far, is a Gorilla. I haven't been blown away by the quality either. I haven't said anything, because so many people recommended it that I assumed it was a one-off situation. Even has a port I can't use because the double sleeves are stitched together. No big deal, I just had higher expectations. I'm situating some stuff for a little grow here soon. I'll have to get in and check for light leaks

If you and DJ wanna really see a crappy tent, I have one out in my carport that's so flimsy I had to use a staple gun to staple it to the back wall. I'm pretty sure a 20lb light would make it collapse.😋
For the most part, many tents are the same when it comes to material. Some thicker or have better zippers and all that but where you guys are getting great quality from the Gorillas are in the frame and connectors. That's where the muscle is at and where you need it to be able to hold your lights and not fall over or implode and collapse from negative pressure of the exhaust.

Yeah I'd ignore any light leaks like pinholes or zipper glow. That stuff is meaningless and has no effect on the grow

Heck, yeah! The change up for space and access makes so much sense. It may be even sexier, now. I think I get why you've made the changes, based on need alone. I was cramped up in the room for the last grow pretty bad while I was trying to decide on hempy or flood and drain.
Flood and drain became the choice but the two tables were way oversized unless I wanted to use my large 6x3 tray.
Well I hauled so much weed from the 3x3 tray, the 6x3 woulda been way too much. That could easily be a 5lb haul. 1-2lb is more than enough which is what I just hauled so yeah, shrink it down and gain some space to move around again while also making it easier to manage, less expensive, and all that.

;bbuild

Well well well. Looks like I'm welcoming some newborns this weekend! Guess I'll be starting a new grow journal this weekend too!

Mornin' Sunshine!!! How the haze are you?

IMG_2849[1].jpeg

I think that about wraps up this grow? I still have to seal what's in the cure but that's it!!!
New journal coming soon!

In the meantime...

thats why i haven't dove into it yet because you can't just put a fast motor on and expect it to handle well.. its drivetrain, steering, suspension, and tires that get upgraded to handle all that power. or ya just turn it way down,,, boo on that!!!!

i gotta get out my 3s i'll show ya what the difference is... i'll charge up the battery a little, i have in storage mode right now.. i get all stupid when i put that thing in.. so much power!!!

Byron Murphy, is that that big kid on the D line.....I like him, there all pretty much monsters on that line.
She how far they make it looks like the west has the best.

Yep...big thick boy in the middle of your D-line. A rare combination of run stopping and pass rush skills up the middle.
Ask any hall of famer QB what his biggest issue playing and to a man every one will tell you it's not outside edge rushers with hi-lite reel sacks. It's the human tanks coming up thru the middle who don't get the sacks but disrupt passing lanes and timing. And if those monsters do get a sack, it's usually very painful have a 350lb human belly flopping on ya.
And this is only his second season with the Hags! Good things are coming for that ball club!

big buttholes... big gapping buttholes!!! hahaha

"big gaping buttholes" has me rolling!!!!

Geezus I thought Carrol was a great fit for your Raiders but holy shit it seems more dysfunctional than ever now! Already fired Kelly and who knows WTF Tom Brady has been doing but he seems like a poison pill. Gosh what a mess. I thought the move would clean it up but damn if aint got worse and they don't have Oakland to blame anymore. Like the Cowboys where bad ownership has destroyed a once great team and franchise.
The NFL is a better league with the Raiders and Cowboys playing for championships.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that glitchy POS plug you have there came from a Conjuring movie and belongs in that room of haunted shit that couple had in their home.

Well it's race day here in the ATX!!!! And yep, I'm going 3S in the Tenacity today! Not even gonna baby step thru a 2s with it but the dirt oval is still on 2s with it's shorty pack.

You mentioned upgrades for the 3S...I got upgrades!!! Factory Team carbon fiber and blue aluminum dots the dirt oval and the Tenacity is all aluminum and titanium where it matters and the electronics are 3S ready.
These cars will never be as clean as they are in this pic ever again

IMG_2850[1].jpeg

Under the hood of the Tenacity. Chassis is solid aluminum and I installed the parts to fit a 3S. Motor and ESC are 3S ready

IMG_2851[1].jpeg

Under the hood of the dirt oval is special IMO. I'll get around to upgrading the electronics at some point but with all the factory Team parts, shorty pack, stealth tranny, and mid motor mount.... this seems like it will be a beast on a track and cant wait to get her out. Will be keeping it 2S and sending the 3s for it, back to amazon.
It wasn't on my radar but it was like an $800 car for only $300 clearance price. Then that Petty blue and Monte Carlo style body made it a must have and I gotta feeling it's gonna be my fave car in this collection.

IMG_2852[1].jpeg

Whoa.. never seen that one before and I've ruined 3 or more with my space heater

My little 700/1500 watt space heater has melted down an extension cord plug and scorched a power strip plug or two in it's life.
Those power strips were far more substantial than that ACI plug. Better/thicker gauge wire and thicker plastic, UL certified and all that and still got hot and melted down.
There's no way I'd plug my heater into one of those plugs and feel good about it. The wire inside the plug is thinner than something like a USB wire or earbuds.
I'm surprised it can even handle 200 watts.
Easily the most sketchy piece of equipment in my room.
One is for my 175 watt veg light and the other for my dehumidifier and I'm surprised they work well for that.
I come from an era of gray box water heater timers, 20 amp breakers, 12-14 gauge wiring, and running a "sparky" off the back breaker box that could power up another 3 bedroom 1 bath home so you can imagine my disbelief opening up that plug and seeing that 1800 watts rating.
No way. I mean...it's almost criminal to stamp that on there!!!

I am shocked they are rated for 1500watts.
^ See what I did there?^
In all seriousness and I am not the end all be all of electricity, but I believe 1500 watts would be 15 amps? That is the limit of all common outlets that are hardwired with 12-14ga wire.
I am with Bandit that even if an engineer said all good, I would not be following that recommendation.
Even a 'good' quality power strip with 5 outlets maxes at 1500 watts on 15 amps and 1875 on 20 amp.
Believe me in my fish room I pushed power strips and breakers. I had to replace 1 particular breaker every two years or it would flip unpredictably.
The power strips would never flip even with bad or new breaker.
Some things should not be trusted or pushed.
I consider myself very lucky today.
Also, glad I have kept my grow room as simple and low tech as possible.

Under the hood of the Tenacity. Chassis is solid aluminum and I installed the parts to fit a 3S. Motor and ESC are 3S ready

Then that Petty blue and Monte Carlo style body made it a must have and I gotta feeling it's gonna be my fave car in this collection.

i see some tire siping in your future on that buggy!!!!

my crawler tire tread is not that much different that yours, well at least they did at one time... i siped them, it's when you cut out sections of treat to make them more aggressive. you can see here where i cut out a half center tread on every other tread alternating each one... they're so worn in now you can't even tell there was a full street tread on them!!

Oh wow. I'm gonna have to tear one apart and investigate.

not much to see on mine.. i'd be curious as to what one that has melted down looks like. mine works, just loses connection at any given random time with no internet interruptions or power outages. i'm tempted to buy another and swap it in box and return it.

the three internal screws were soldered to those copper plated standoffs. two of them were completely cold joints and the third fell off when i breathed on it. i assume these are grounds. >edit< i see a L, N, and E stamped next to those posts so not grounds, well one is. and kinda the neutral.. the two boards connect with a two pin connector those are probably the low power side of the circuit.

Yeah dang.. now I'm really curious. I can't tell from the video how the male jobbers connect to female diddlies..

It looks like it all runs through the circuitry whereas I expected a physical switch thrown by a relay. I hear the relay close, just assumed there was more to it...
