Coffee

I'm glad you said that so now I know I'm not losing my mind🤪 because when I was drinking the YELLOW HONEY which started out as a very drinkable cappuccino, as it cooled I would swear I was drinking a cup of coffee and very rich cocoa at the same time, & the more it cooled the more chocolatey it became

for me thats where it at, i really enjoy the chocolate/caramel/cherry flavors in coffee.. sometimes i even put a squirt of hersheys dark chocolate syrup in with it. i'm looking forward to the yellow honey!!!

Decided to try the French Roast, always one of my favorite coffees. Liked the dark & rich espresso (4/5) better than the cappuccino (3.5/5) on this one, will try another one in the morning View attachment 95261 View attachment 95235

thats funny cuz earlier tonight i put out these two packs for tomorrow and was gonna impulse choose one of them in the morning!!

I do that too, I have a little shaker bottle of the chocolate powder that I make chocolate ice cream from & once in awhile when I remember it I'll sprinkle a little on the cappuccino foam

I like dark roasts but this French roast is a very dark roast, not my favorite cappuccino but I did like the espresso shot from it, let me know what you think when you brew some up!

I liken coffee to hash. With both, all it takes is heat and pressure and you get that dark deliciousness....

My rig is an electric kettle and a staresso press.
Beans of choice are always ground for espresso and is usually Cuban because nobody roasts a bean quite like an oppressed and pissed off commie with Latin fire coursing their veins.
Little dab 'll do ya. 2 shots is like a whole pot of regular coffee. Like liquid booger candy....

The crema on the surface is all natural and the result of the pressure needed to make espresso. Usually takes a very expensive machine to make that happen but in this case, a lot of elbow grease on the press.💪🏋️‍♂️

Love that press! Now I have it in my Amazon cart! 😂👍🏻

Tipica Honey is up next, I can't make a fair call on it because I ran out of water during the brew so it's brewed with two different waters (spring & r/o) and no idea what volume of either 🤷🏻 I'll brew one again later.IMG_20250330_133300~2.jpgIMG_20250330_101127.jpg

There's others that are comparable, some better priced and some do something better than others. I picked Staresso solely because it ranked the highest on the crema test being more frothy than other portable espresso makers but another on my radar was Nanopresso which is probably better overall unless you're a crema freak like me.
I use it at home but love the fact it's portable and it's pretty ez to source hot water almost anywhere, like you said, even a campfire. Good espresso anywhere on the planet is a helluva thing 🥴

I use a Casabrew espresso machine and a Tuni grinder

I've quit using sugar (except cane in my ice cream) 2 years ago this past December, so I sweeten my coffee with coffee liqueur and/or amaretto 🍸🐸

I'm familiar with that coffee I've perked a lot of it, recently came across a Cuban (style) whole bean somewhere that I eventually want to get around to trying

It's all about the crema! 🎯🎯🎯

Update:

So far the four coffees I've tried are:

Espresso Roast

Yellow Honey

Castillo Washed

French Roast

The first two were very good and I'll buy either again when they're back in stock, the bottom two are a pass for me; so far my favorite has been the Yellow Honey.

I drink a lot of coffee 2 cups at a time but as long as its coffee and strong I can drink it, not picky at all, Mc caffee & Costco mix atm. Its fast those pods are ready in 1 min flat, Great? no but coffee fast. Or Tims while driving, I like a hot drink while driving and Tims is along the way on the return.
We don't have Tim Hortons here, just Dunk's 😕

Just easy access road coffee, could be anything. On our trip to and from Costco we pass a Starbucks and a Tims, we used to stop at SB but the got too expensive, like $3.75 med and across the road at Tims it $2.05...fkem it taste burnt any ways.

I've heard tim's has pretty good donuts too

I'm in with Homer Simpson on Donuts, There no such thing as a bad Donut, They not all be great but I'll get over it. If there were no consequences I could eat a lot of Donuts ....I mean a lot....I get to be bottomless with some stuff, donuts and pastries could kill me if guilt didn't take over

They used to but changed things a few years back. They shrunk by half and they got rid of a lot, no more cakes either. Tim bits (donut holes) are okay but it depends on the flavours you like.

Edit: Tom quit it’s Tim. 🤣🤦

I reassessed the last of the French Roast and I'm going to move it to my 'buy again' column. I just had an exceptional cappuccino made with the last of it ☕🐸

So to be objective I tried the same amount, .40 ounce of LAVAZZA Espresso which is what I've been drinking most, prepared in the same way I've been sampling these mostly single-source coffees for a comparison

There's a reason I'm just assigning pass/fail to these coffee samples, I'm not one to wax eloquently about how fruity it is, whether I taste a hint of this or that and what have you, I just know if I like it or not

My honest assessment is that there's no comparison, I don't feel like I can go back to a mass produced coffee ever again.

I've ruined coffee! 😱 I never should have flown so close to the sun.Screenshot_20250403-040545.jpg

This company's promotion with the dollar samples must have gone well because almost everything is out of stock

However their Expresso Roast just came in again for $10 and free shipping, thought I'd mention it in case anyone's interested, I grabbed a bag!

Edit: not sure how I got free shipping but I did 🤷🏻

Another winner 🏆 there is nothing I don't like about this coffee, especially the cappuccino! ☕🐸

i knew we would sync up sooner or later.. i had the same one today, i'm ranking this one on the top five of the ones i've had.

ya know years ago i ruined myself from smoking to many dabs, now i don't like flower anymore.. i sure hope i don't become a coffee snob and a pot snob!! haha

That was absolutely a delicious coffee! I'm going to go brew some up when I fully wake up.

There's only been one sample that I didn't care for, the rest has been amazing. I never knew they were depths to coffee like this 🤯

Just finished the Junin Natural so I opened the Junin Anaerobic

I wish I had saved a little bit of the Natural to do a comparison ☕🐸

This is a fantastic coffee, I'm watching for this one to go on sale!IMG_20250411_124105~2.jpg

that was a great one!! i'm having yellow honey today. turns out i get three brews from each pack. three large coffees for a buck!!! and damn good quality too!!! well $3 in creamer too, that normally lasts me about ten days.

all this time i thought i was a dark roast or nothing drinker.. this came from Kcups.. never liked anything but dark, but thats turns out its just cause kcups only have a half a teaspoon of grounds in them. this coffee here is teaching me i like all kinds of roasts!!!!

Agree, I never knew about all these various processes to cure and process coffee beans before roasting

I never knew coffee like this existed, up until I started buying whole bean for my new espresso machine Last Christmas I was drinking your basic Maxwell House and Yuban and was damn happy with it!

Yellow Honey was a fav, let me know what you think of it

i kinda the exact same way man, i always just drank folders and thought thats what good coffee was.. my only difference is i don't have good gear, i just use a simple drip and super cheap grinder. i'd like to upfrade my grinder with a conical gear to adjust the grind size. mine is a timing versus amount to get the right grind...

i liked the yellow honey a lot and rank it in the top five of them. probably third favorite. i've been pulling them out of the box and opening each one then tossing it in the freezer.. now that i tried em all i'm putting the 2nd rounds on the door!! hehe... i like em all so much it doesn't matter which one i choose and like the whimsy of doing it that way!!

i think this one here is my favorite one of all twelve. i'll buy a full bag of this one..

pair it up with some of this and forget about it!!!!

I thought that was one of the two I had left but I must have already tried it and not mentioned it because this is one of the two I have left, enjoying it right now ☕🐸 The other one is Natural Anaerobic. I'm sure I liked it, I think the 3 honey process coffee's are my favoritesIMG_20250419_090108__01.jpg
