They a bit lime coloured or is that just the light?
The proximity to the light, makes it look weird. Makes them even look spotty when it's just light tricks.

Just starting to feel better today. Been having fever sweats at night for a week straight, soaking the bed... It's crazy. Only a little sweat last night, and my appetite is coming back today.

I think I'm at the end on this run too, flowers not as big as past grows but the quality looks high. I'm such a lazy grower the past few weeks.. need to open the feed schedule chart on my computer when i get home, but likely she's only a week out at most

I’ve been slacking too. Weather and crap has me bummed out. Need to get motivated and have a few nice days.

Rain today but it’s supposed to hit 13* so it’s a start.

Yeah at the 8 week mark at end of week, these don't look like 10+ weekers either. One more week and I'll chop chop, well all depending on trichs tooPXL_20260325_225907646.PORTRAIT.jpgPXL_20260325_225940971.jpgPXL_20260325_225916578.PORTRAIT.jpg

Had my first attempt at making some hash the other day. Been on the bucket list, glad to scratch it off. used the hot water in glass bottle method. Wanted to try just a little bit to test the process out.

Vodka bottle from Mongolia. My brother's gf is Mongolian, they brought it back to me from one of their trips. Was just thinking the other day i should make a bong out of it and gift it back to them. it would be unique, and maybe cool to them.

Sorry for the video being a bit out of focus, i got it in at the very end. @Coco Lopez I know you were thinking about doing this, so i'm taggin you
@Neueregel I think you told me about this method.

I should have worked the heat on it longer i see now, but it was still fun. I cleaned the bowl just to get a fresh taste of it...right.... now. i'm feeling it.. fuck

good stuff. Thanks @Neueregel

Love some of there music.

Getting that, it stinks like weed, comment from the wife past two weeks, even with a sealed room and carbon filter scrubbers. I mean it is peak stinky time right now, but wondering if the filters are still up to par from when they were new.

How often do you guys replace carbon filters? Every two years? Or can you truly reactivate them with heat?

I never got one as it was legal to grow and we don’t mind the smell. Rarely get embarrassed by it either. But once I saw the sticker prices I was happy NOT to need one.

I do put a nylon stocking over the roofs intake for exhausting the hot air and it needs to be washed or replaced each grow.

I’d think under normal conditions once a year but that’s just guessing. Based on things like furnace.

AI suggested:
You can reuse a charcoal (activated carbon) air scrubber/filter for multiple grows, but lifespan depends on three main factors:

- Filter size and carbon amount: larger filters last longer.

- Odor load and grow scale: more plants, stronger strains, or multiple flowering cycles load the filter faster.

- Run hours and airflow: continuous high CFM shortens life; intermittent use lasts longer.

- Environmental conditions: high humidity and particulate matter (dust/resin) can reduce effectiveness.

Practical guidance (typical residential/homegrow assumptions):

1. Small filter (4–6" thick, ~2–6 lb carbon): 1–2 full flowering cycles (4–12 weeks each) before noticeable odor breakthrough; often replaced after 6–12 months.

2. Medium filter (6–8" thick, ~8–20 lb carbon): 3–6 flowering cycles (several grows) or 6–18 months of use.

3. Large/commercial filters (8–12"+, 25+ lb carbon): many grows — often 12–24+ months depending on load; may be used through a season before replacement.

Tips to extend life:
- Pre-filter the intake with a washable/replaceable pre-filter to catch dust/resin.

- Keep humidity below ~60% while flowering.

- Use appropriately sized fan/CARBON CFM for your filter (oversizing fan reduces contact time).

- Store unused filters dry and sealed; replace if saturated or emitting odor.

- Replace when you detect odor leakage or airflow is significantly reduced.

I don't use a carbon filter in my grows but it very common for people to use carbon in their aquariums.
It last less than 1 week.
No joke, after that it's efficacy drops notably. Never heard of reactivating carbon with heat but when used in water it literally absorbs organics and such. The quality of the carbon has very little effect on it's efficacy duration.
I would never waste my money on it for fish.
I do understand it's need in grows but think most should be prepared to make a decent investment to even come close to their expectations.

I've read about baking it in the oven to burn off anything the carbon has collected, eventually turning all that into carbon as well. That was my basic understanding, but I would dive a little deeper before I attempted it myself.

I just got a whole basement sized carbon filter from Moe. The thing is like 5 feet tall with about an 18 inch diameter. It's a moster and I would never buy another one that sized, but reactivating the carbon seems like a reasonable option if I ever encounter a stink problem.

Right now, I'm lucky enough to not have any neighbors so I just vent outside. My next run might get CO2 introduced, so that air will need to be scrubbed so I don't go to work smelling like pot.

Ok makes sense i guess. I've got three filters, two intake and one out, maybe i can shake them off a bit. I know one i have you can unscrew the intake home to move to other side to kinda get the last bit of life out of em.

Maybe I'll go and give them a good shake and blow after this grow. I don't think the money is that bad, they've lasted two years. $50 for the 6" version that's 12" long (hey now lol)

Yeah, looks I'm not reactivating shit at home lol, but it is possible

Just off the top of my head I might try baking soda dusted inside the filter cartridge.
Cheap and easily replaced.
Likely I'll blow these three out for one more run then replace them all. Got to keep the wife happy and nothing captures VOCs like carbon.

Speaking of baking soda, if you are ever super glueing plastic, sprinkle some baking soda while the glue is wet and the bond is exponentially stronger. You won't be able to break it, it's that strong.

It’s also good for filling chips and small gaps. Used it for years. 👊

Take a bite of those things, baby!
Tastes like fresh greens, almost like sprouts.
I slacked this time around and mine got moldy in the fridge, but I plan to try making a Saurkraut out of a batch of roots one of these days.
dude, I'm about to save and eat some roots soon!!! especially a Kraut recipe!

video is up:

even though i used a 100% free video editor, it doesn't let me do video transitions or anything fun, i still had a little fun

That was cool Ninja! Something about racing and weed just goes together and my wife has been saying they need to play more rave music at the races ;rockb
I like the timelapse a ton and have a camera but haven't messed with it much. It's settings confuse me and I've given up on it.
What camera are you using?

The tapo 2k, sd card, no cloud. Turn 400gb of raw video into the time lapse. I really really had fun with this one , thanks for the love!

I was gifted the gandolf smoking gnome, and just like him in the grow, lol just for luck and protection from pests lol

I got an almost perfect drying environment, I'm so excited to see the difference on end product. Doing a nice slow dryPXL_20260410_111349589.jpg

What is the normal time if doing 60/60 for drying or is it always dependent on bud sizes and other variables.

Just curious, been a week and just tested today with wood moisture meter, think i got another week before 12% does anyone use a different target before grove bags?

Gonna depend on wet or dry trim. My wet trims dry in about 4-5 days. I've only dry trimmed once and it took 11 days, I believe.

I've read 10-12% with the moisture meters. My last two runs were sent into grove bags right around there. I might've went a little early on this last run at 13%. Doobies don't stay lit very well. The batch that read 10 or 11% smokes way better.

Ok that makes sense. This is my first dry trim and first time with a much better drying environment.

Yeah I've had some a little too wet before or i should say unevenly dry due to whack drying environment and you're right it doesn't burn great.

Thank you, I'll check mid week and see where I'm at.PXL_20260413_011308956.PORTRAIT.jpg

I don't have a wood/moisture meter per say.
I jar when I think they are dry and place the little RH/temp meter in jar and watch.
For me over 65% is open jar and under 55% is add moisture.
I use these in my jars;

Yeah i put those little hydrometers in my grove bags and monitor the first two weeks until stable

Thanks

I really really like the moisture meter, i think less than $20 i can't remember. I only got it because the terploc mfg recommends a certain moisture before bagging. Not sure if more or less accurate than relative humidity, but it's very easy to use

We do the same method but 68% is the highest as vaping seems better a bit higher.

I was using the meter to see what things are at when hanging and a branch cracks. Wrote it down so I can see if it’s repeated and consistent.

We have that one too. But ours came damaged. Doesn’t dial up/down the temperature properly. Always goes to max temp. The gage moves too. My son bought it but “we” paid for it. He won’t complain about it which pisses me off.

I use the Lobo daily. Best portable I’ve used to date.IMG_9682.jpeg

Let’s me swap batteries and has some good accessories.

Speaking of I likely might trim tonight or tomorrow, wood moisture probe read 14% last night, they feel good to the touch. Hopefully by tonight tomorrow they are closer to 12. Man it's going to wreck me, haven't smoked flower in weeks cause of the sickness

Nothing wrong with a tolerance break, even if it wasn’t intentional.

I used to go by feel ninja there is way too many factors but typically the longer the better. Check a hanging branch every morning, if it snaps cleanly when you bend it = ready for the final trim, and into a grove bag and sealed up.
