Frosty is always good!!

(unless you live where I do, in which case the frost can fuck right off and spring/summer can come any time soon)
The sample tests have been stellar!! I can't even open a grove bag without the entire apartment stinking! Thinking the big change is to my much better drying environment, wow i can't wait for the next run. All filters are off right now so any smell just permeates the air space. Touching it is like getting super glue on your fingers it's crazy

Wondering if there is a connection between less light or light cycles in general and heavy trichome production, or if there is a trade off between weight and trichome production. Idk just rambling lol

That horticulture science nerd Bruce Bugbee has a few videos on this, good vids to toss on in the background while doing other things!

Oh he's the man! i need to check up on any new stuff from him the past year or two. I watched about everything i could a few years ago, love the science behind it.

Agreed brother. I think we all know & see a lot of the "broscience" that gets tossed around within the weed growing community, so it is refreshing to shed a little light on things when there are actual scientists with PhD's that are doing legitimate testing with our favourite plant. Not that there is anything wrong with the other approach or wanting to try different things out but for some of us we thrive on data backed research.

There was one vid he did on growing myths that is a good watch, another on light spectrums/DLI, he's had a few good sit downs with Migro and the guy from Garden Talk Clips as well.

He also did an AMA a couple years back:

Man I'm just in love with the end product, it's insanely sticky, just beautiful

Double dose, definitely going to do this one again.

I didn't really trim this before bagging it, i was in a rush to start curing before some travel a few weeks ago.

Frosty nugs for sure! And I kinda like the not-super-profesionally-trimmed-weed, it's a nice reminder that you are smoking home grown.

holllllllllllllllllllyyy sightings! Been like 3+ years man. How the hell are ya?

Well well well look what the cat dragged in! It has been a minute good sir glad to see you're still around and kickin'

& I'm doing good, slowly getting back into the swing of things 🧙‍♂️ what's new with you?

Yessir took a major break and just gettin back into gear couple grows ago. Things been all good so can't complain. Got married 4‐20‐2024 in Vegas, great times. We been together like prolly 18 years but I just needed to make sure she was the one 😆
You got any current grows going on?

Congrats bud!! That's pretty exciting news. Post some pics and some updates in your journal so we can check it out. And yeah I just got some seeds started a few weeks ago, still in the early stages but you can see updates in my thread(link in my sig). Massively downsized from what I am used to running but I am not concerned with yields at this point considering I maybe smoke 1-2g per week if I'm lucky.

Almost finished the big job, a bolt broke and now waiting for new bolt then all downhill

Was leaking coolant out the corner here beforePXL_20260531_005612032.jpg

Car has been out of commission for 2-3 months now waiting until i felt better to work on it. Soon she will be back on the road breaking other people's hearts instead of mine lol

Can't remember who on here had the mini engine they were working on, i think @TomH so we broke a bolt and waiting for new bolt to come and finish this weekend.

This car is a money pit, but there is nothing left to drop money in now lol, every goddamn vital part under the hood has been replaced, except the high pressure fuel pump (knock on wood cause this is also high on the known failure list). Every part has a lifetime replacement warranty through ECS tuning, so at least I'll be ready for the next head gasket change in another 100k

Might sound sour, but I'm deciding to keep it after this work, she's so fuckin fun to drive, might be my lifetime project car, i do like the tinkering and now i know this engine bay like my wife's body 😂

After this is done i can start the next run

No, I don’t have a mini, but I do like them.

Real story, true story:
When I was a kid my dad bought a 1959 Hillman Minx Californian.

That was around 1962, the car was red but entirely oxidized, the front passenger window didn’t roll up/down. The rear door on the driver side didn’t stay closed all the time.
There was no stereo or radio and the seats were falling apart.

I sure miss that car.

My mini has some problems too lol

Used to have the rear hatch open by itself whole driving(short wire from corrosion, replaced), airbag light randomly coming up (location of srs harness is under seat and constantly jiggling loose), been through 3 thermostat housings that cracked(finally figured out exhaust pressure is causing this, which is why I'm doing head gasket change), no boost (loose vacuum line on bottom of engine came off, fixed now), radio works but LCD is too dim to read, sunroof is disconnected because of sunroof cables breaking is common so this eliminates the risk), man i don't know where to stop lol

Yeah has issues, but i fucking love driving her when she's acting right. Gets up to 18 psi boost stock, same power to weight ratio as bmw m5, active electronic suspension has sport and regular mode with button, and the best part, 6 speed stick

One day might do a Honda k engine swap down the road, if this engine ever blows up

Can't help who or what we love right? I still think about this 82 jetta i used to have, everything manual, even crank sunroof, she didn't have any power but was still precious to me, rolled it 3 times and was still running

So funny, my friend won this Chinese shit in a raffle .

"...exporting the automobile resolving a first wife thereby adds the dress power aggrandizer..." WTF?!??! 🤣🤣🤣
Wtf could they even possibly mean i have literally zero idea, "do not output but design that"

Does that mean it doesn't work but it was designed to work?? 😂

if you're cruzin down the desert and your boat gets four flats how many pancakes does it take to jack up a house? hahahahahahaha

And so the next round has begun, i believe blueberry cupcake (blueberry muffin x wedding cake) Don't reckon i ever did anything blueberry related, will be exciting

i got two in one until i pull one after they come up.

the clay pebbles. are they on top, bottom, or both? and did you wash and soak them? I soon must play that game
They fill the entire net cup top to bottom if not using any rockwool or something similar. I'm finally off doing any rockwool, it helps to get a good start but i have found they do better for me without it. It's weird, how often new growers only fill the net cup half way with clay pebbles and then get bacteria in the water because of the light going through. Not sure why so many people skimp on that.

No soaking,b heavy heavy dust bath then just a couple dips in peroxide then a day airing out before first use. Probably could soak them, but i don't.

So if not using any rockwool i try to get as big as root tail as possible from the germination then take a few clay pebbles out try to get the root down in there with the seed/sprout just at the top so light can hit it while protecting the root from light.

Tbh, i like the idea of no media, I've done that in an airponic setup, so the idea isn't foreign just worried about a few variables, only one of those being stability. What happened before is that the neoprene doesn't allow any room for the contacted area around the stem to breathe, making it high risk for crown rot, at least in an aeroponic setup.

Whereas the clay pebbles allow great air exchange, still i think i might try media less next time just to experiment

oO nice work. I bought clap pebbles and am soaking them now. I washed them today then placed in RO water that's like 6ph. Was going to swap the water every day for like 3-4 then soak in 5.8ph but with full strength nutes

So cool. So would you say this grow style is best described as hydroponics?

Man I'm likely going to lean on ya bigtime. You've got the water grow down pat. I'm going to be spazzing while playing chemist again hah.

Hey hey!

Am i supposed to be soaking them? Maybe I'm missing a step, just something i never did. A few times i forgot to even wash them lol.

Be careful on soaking them in nutes if using seedlings, they can be sensitive. I think a lot of people have the water level high in the system (1/2-1" from the bottom of the netcup) until the roots can reach the normal system water level. Me, i just put the level to my normal system level from the start and pour the system water over the netcup twice a day, and with high humidity, until the roots come out. A few different ways of course

Right now I'm not anywhere close to full nutes, only 390 EC rn until the first change. Mostly just calmag and a drop of everything else.

Are you running a hydro setup now?? Awesome!
I have made A lot of learning mistakes. Hopefully I can share some. Wisdom to help keep you from making the same ones I made.

I would call it hydroponics because there is only water and inert media. I call my exact system setup fallponics because the RDWC returns the water to the top of each site and falls down, instead of cycling on the bottom level alone.

I made mine, but got the idea from online. What does your setup look like?

This will be my 2nd run going medialess and I love it. No issues so far. Any plants that have tipped have tipped the whole netcup. Maybe some hydroton would've help there a little with the added weight, but I've had the same problem when I went that route... whole plants tipping over.

I yoyo the tallest, heaviest colas pretty early on any more. I don't like opening the tent to find my babies all toppled over. Nice problem to have though 😉

Not something I've ever heard of or even considered. I'll keep my fingers crossed and knock on some wood, but my plants haven't had any problems with the neoprene collars. Check out my latest run, or the Indigo Sapphire grow, to see the collars putting in work.

Yeah i still get them falling over even with hydroton lol a great problem to have indeed

Good to know on the neoprene, likely i only had issues of crown rot from the aeroponic setup because of the water spray going up into the neoprene collar unlike a low pressure hydroponics setup.

I def need to check out your grow, i don't think I've been getting any updates in my feed
