Grove Bags ??

It took me forever to accumulate a gallon jar collection for storing weed. They are all sitting empty now, switched to grove bags. I like 1/4 lb and 1 zip bags myself and I keep them all in an 18 gallon tote with a lid. I don't use my Bovedas anymore. If I feel the herb is getting too dry I'll just add a bowl of orange rinds to the tote.......close the lid........and in a day or two, everything has freshened right up.
I am a fan with my only complaint being the damn ziploc portion failing on at least 3 bags.
The jars took up the top half of a closet and breaking a jar is always possible. So I reclaimed the closet with the tote and it's pretty easy to deal with. ymmv
The ziplocks have failed on all three of my large bags. I think I stored them folded in a weird way or something and now one side has a bend that unzips itself.

I am a Mason Jar guy. I am a Boveda Pack guy.

Just bought my first Terplock Grove Bags.

I can't wait to try them. Without any Boveda Packs.

I am not confident that I will ever have Cannabis sitting around for more than six months. So, long term storage in excess of six months is not a consideration.

For me, I am looking to perfect my Dry, and Cure methodologies. I will start a discussion about Drying methodologies, in a separate thread, as I am attempting two methodologies that are new to me. I have only ever used the method that requires me to listen too and feel the branch that I am bending, in an effort to determine proper level of dryness or remaining moisture in the plant. 60F and 60% RH are the environmental targets, while maintaining indirect air flow and fresh air turnover.

But for this discussion, about Grove Bags, it is the Cure methodology that I am looking to improve on.

Carry on...lol. I suck at controlling my enthusiasm when I am lit.

the humidity is spot on, so I'm trimming bud off the stick now, going to put them in the new salad spinner trimmer in a minute

let me see if I got the use of these Grove bags straight:

I currently have between 58 and 62% humidity, so I put the bud in the Grove bags

with or without a 62% boveeta pack ?

then I sealed The Grove bag and I don't have to burp it at all, it self burps as it cures...

Is that the gist of them?

I always use my vacuum sealer and heat seal them. 90% of last years grow is in grove bags and they have cured great. One pound bags I think, big ones. I just leave them full of weed. I will get into it and jar a bunch to smoke but always heat seal afterwards.

You dry your weed as usual. A week or two at 60/60/16 then into the grove bags when they are dry enough. Heat seal them. Self burps. Put in bag, seal bag then wait.

I still use the 62%packs, I had 1/2lb go dry in the bags in my garage through the winter. I use 2 size 67 in 1/4 lb bags. 62% + 62% = 62%

I was wondering about heat ceiling because they do have an area on the bag for it and I have a heat sealer, thanks

I've noticed the bags from amazon and from Grove are different but both are supposed to be TerpLoc? Or maybe some on Amazon are counterfeit?
I did a return on my recent order and considered another order direct from grove but didn't see what I wanted.
Should've probably done weight tests and all that but there was a huge quality drop off between the two.

When I bought mine I bought them from Amazon but it was directly from Grove Bags Amazon store. There are lots of counterfeits on there. Bastards

So far the grove bags have been great, the few I've checked are curing perfectly no hay odor at all, I'm sold !
6 months later the Grove bags are still great! The weed's not dried out at all, it's still fresh, odorous and flavorful and the big stems still have to be twisted to break.

With all the jar burping that I've saved, Grove bags are the greatest invention since sliced bread!

ps. I kept them in the fridge

I have some experience with these bags now. Meh...zippers fail. I was very careful as this was not lost on me when I read about it online.

My next harvest might include a side by side comparison, using bags vs jars.
That's one thing I noticed re: the brand I happen to pick, they sealed like steel traps! They also reseal great, I'm going to reuse them, I'll add the link.

I was going to open one for the first time, put the bud in a jar with a hygrometer and see what they were actually holding the humidity at?

I might do that on the next ounce bag I I take out of the fridge and open for the first time since being sealed to see what the real numbers are

Man I opened up some grove bags that have been sealed for nine months. It was so/so weed so I just put it away. Two strains. When I opened them up I was astounded at the smells that were not there when I put the buds in. I think some terpenes take a long time to cure/mature and those grove bags do all the work!!

Free, are any of us truly free.....lol...I demand you to use Grove bags with the shitty seals at $5 each or you ain't kool....lol......some days the weed hits harder than others...
These things are freaking awesome! One of the few newfangled items this old schooler approves of! I don't know about other brands just the ones I used, they did a great job šŸ†

I have 25 -30 used ones and I've lost the being impressed part. I was a fan then the zippers started ripping off. I had some bags dry out I though were supposed to keep the RH stable in. I have to add 2 - $5-.$7.50 humidity packs/1/4lb bag and they don't last long. I'd like to move to a better storage/cure method. Cvaults are too expensive. I just looked on Amzon for Vacuum canisters and there are some starting around $18- $20 for a 1lb coffee capacity. Cdn. I have a few items in a cart I'm going to add 1 or 2 tonight I think....Christmas and all,

I didn't even know you could use them twice! 23 bucks for 50 bags I can live with that

The next one I get out of storage in the fridge I'm going to put it right in the jar with hygrometer and then we'll see the reality about them. At the rate I'm smoking it won't be long 🤣

This bud is moist, I have to cut the fat stems, can't snap them, and they smell just like when I put them in (with no bodeva packs). It's holding the humidity, I believe, where it says

People are storing weed with Argon in special jars. The future is now.

This is how I'm going to start storing my weed, just trying to decide which color... View attachment 120446
A couple guys here have invested in freeze drying units.
I never heard about the argon till grump mentioned it, but a quick search brought a cannabis product up first and to me it makes sense.
The container in link is way too small for me, but the idea seems solid and simple.
I have herb from first grow back in 22 still in my freezer.
Mandarin cookies I think?🄓

My hash weed is from back in the beach house it's been in the freezer since 21🤣

There's more coffee and weed in my freezer than there is food!

Argon seems to be a part of having weed around here, I’ll ask if theres anything ground up and find it argon!

I found these last year or the year before at one of the Amazon resale sites. You know the ones that sell the crap from China that was returned but not worth sending back.

A bit bigger than a Boveda but heavier. Each pack has 5 inside so you need to use all 5 at the same time. I used a pack or two when I realized I was going to have more surplus than I needed. Worked great on the mason jars.

I got two 100 pack bags for $3 each. Not sure what the real price is…

Amazon used to have them but no longer available. IMG_8130.jpeg
