Hi everyone, so I've currently got 5 babies a week and a half from sprout growing in canna coco professional currently been fed just katana roots and A and B, and I'm starting to get some slight discolouration on the lowest leaves (see pic) does anybody know what could be causing this ? Advice is much appreciated T.I.A20231229_131924.jpg20231229_131942.jpg

Sup! So there are two things I think it could be and several ways to figure it out and treat it. Firstly, inspect your plant with a magnifying glass or jewlers loupe and see if you notice anything crawling around. Make sure to check underneath the leaves and the soil. If you find some bugs, try and identify them or photograph them, post it here and we can figure it out.

Second, check the PH of your nutrient solution. You want it around 5.9-6.1 for coco. If it's not 5.9-6.1, then adjust it accordinlgy with a couple drops of either ph-up or ph-down.

Third, check the ppm/ec of your nutrient solution. As babies you dont need more than 1,000 ppm as long as you dont use CO2. However, you dont wanna go below 600ppm as you will start to have deficincies as they get bigger. So, adjust your nutrient ppm's accordingly if you notice they are out of range.

Lastly, it might come down to tempurature, humidity and/or your light levels. You want it around 70-77 degree's in there and 60-70% humidity for vegging plants.
Your lights should be around 30DLI at this point, slowly increasing to 40DLI until your ready to flip, but sometimes this intense light is too much, so turning down the light will help it be less stressed sometimes. Dont know how to read the DLI? No prob, just download the Photone app on your phone and it does a damn good job of measuring your light intensity. Dont go by PAR because it is only PART of the total info needed to calculate the amount of light your plants are getting, go by DLI.

Anyway happy growing, feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like. We got you! 👊

How big of containers
How often ya water
How much water to each plant
How much run off do you get
Feed every water?
Ph after nutes added ?
Ppm or ec before and after nutes added

@Jonnyboi84 I edited your OP to insert the images. Easier for passerby's to see and hopefully bring more comments.

One question I have is what is the temps? These plants are dense with wide leaves, I've seen that before on my grows when temps are too low.

I hate to be this guy, but I'm going to say it...

That scares me. Wet lumber in a grow space is inviting mold and pests. I like the raised grate idea, but holding it up with something plastic would be a better option. Dealing with mold in flower sux balls.

Looking at the salts building up on your tray, without more data I would lean towards too hot as well. Nutes that go up the roots with the water need to either be used to make more plant tissue, or will build up in the tissue. This most often happens at the leaf edges because they run out of room to be pushed further and build up there. That is why we see the classic nute burn on leaf tips.

Thankyou for the advice bro but the lumber is bone dry it's just stained that way I did have a problem with damp when I first started but back then I was like super clueless didn't use drip trays pots where just sat on the floor in a massive puddle 90 % of the time 🤦‍♂️😂 that's why I introduced the raised floor and drip trays, everything gets caught and thrown now, but your right it does look damp in that picture, so much so I've just had to check myself and its bone dry, I'm also only feeding a tiny amount of a and b 1 ml per litre and 5 ml of katama roots, my ec is only 0.8, my temps are 26 degrees 24 hours of light at moment, summat defo off though plants look well apart from 3 of them have the funny discolouring on the bottom set of leaves 🤔 really annoying me now 🤬😂

Cool well containers are just 1 litre ice cream tubs with holes drilled in the bottom at the moment so 1 ltr tubs I'm feeding them once every other day until I get a little bit of run off ph after nutes is 6.1 ec going in is 0.8, my tents 1.2x1.2x2 m gonna be doing 4 plants and my light is an inongrid t24 at 80% 18 inches above the plants, hope this helps, pic is of the light using mines the t24. I never ket the pots dry out17039832250429188944631161685981.jpg17039831306122009106994665469272.jpg

Every other day watering may or may not be enough to keep the coco saturated. At the size they are I’d be watering at least once per day. Have you grown in coco before?

Yes I have bro use coco everytime and I always start them off feeding every other day for the first 2 weeks and never had them do this, but they are 2 weeks now so I'm gonna start them on there proper nutrients now and feeding everyday, thanks bro

Personally I’d shoot for a bit more run off may b 20% so as not build up salts in ur coco ur on the right track ! And thanx for sharin
