This is how the fan came from the AC Infinity.

Loosen the band clamps that are on each side of the fan housing.

The fan motor and fan are in the middle section of the fan housing. Pull out the unit.

There is a venturi that is pressure fitted into the housing. It's not clipped so you just work it out by pulling the piece out going around little by little until it comes out.

The inlet side of the housing also has a venturi that pulls out.

Toothbrush, Alcohol and a Rag to get in all the crevices and get the fan really clean.

Once it's all clean put it all back together in reverse. Take care that the band clamps are lining up with the lip on the housing.

Air Circulator cleaning.

I used the same toothbrush, alcohol and rag.

Excellent.

Thanks for letting me know I’m not breaking the T6 when I pull out the venturi. (Didn’t know the part name either.) I tend to go to far on occasion.

I also like using the wipes either ISO or H2O2.

The in-line S6 booster motor coils are still clean but wondering if canned air and toothbrush is best.

You seem detail oriented. Do you have a preference for cleaning wire wrapped motors?

@Rootsruler - Wonderful! Thanks much! I've had mine apart, but didn't know the venturis came out like that. I should probably make inspecting the fans a routine part of cleaning between grows.

Fans sure can get dirty. Cleaning the house fans is a routine task. We have air purifiers, but the fans get dirty anyway. I don't like to think about breathing that air.

I try not to disturb the motor itself much. Alcohol can do funny things to solder and electrical parts. I like to run through it with compressed air then use a clean, dry rag to wipe it down. The area I usually put most of my attention to is the motor axle. It gets hair and stuff wound around it and tends to work itself into the bearings of the motor. I take a razor blade and just score along the length of the axle to remove whatever hair is wound around it while using the point of the razor blade to try and get into the bearings themselves and remove as much hair and stuff as possible.

The wipes are good but, depending on how dirty the fan is, I'll pre soak and do an initial wipe down with 90% alcohol to start melting the dirt goo then come back with some 70% for clean up. I would do it all in 90% but I find I use too much as it evaporates too fast. Works great at cutting through the goo but, again, it evaporates before I'm able to give it a good wipe and produce a nice clean surface so the 2 step approach works for me.

I hear ya'! I've been on a sealing missions in the house trying to seal it up as best as possible to not allow any outside air to get in but to no avail. Monthly A/C filter replacements tell me my efforts are lacking.

I do a little woodworking and have vortex dust collection for my table saw. It works well for the big stuff, but doesn't get the small stuff, so, a filter is needed. A project I have on my to-do list is to make a filter for the whole work area (aka, my garage). Basically, most DIYers use a box fan and H-Vac filters to pull a lot of air through the filter. It's an easy project and from what I've heard they do a good job of removing dust. I've considered making something like that for my lung room, maybe with the addition of a carbon filter.

I put the nylon stocking over the in-line fans so both ends covered and over the intake of the T6 exhaust fan. Stops all but the smallest stuff getting in. Just vacuum as needed wash and replace as needed.

Otherwise dog hair would be an issue.

Doesn't that impede performance?

That’s why the 6” intake and exhaust. More than enough for a 3x3. No filters or smell worries now that it’s legal.

I do have to check intake daily to make sure it’s clear. It can get like a dryer lint trap some says. But weekly vacuum is enough so far.
Right. Seems like the T6 is perfect for your size tent. Maybe even a 4 x 4. I need a T8 in the 5 x 5. The T6 is ok but it's working pretty hard to keep everything in range. I just hung a new oscillating fan in the tent. This next grow it should provide better air flow inside the tent and hardier branching. I just had the small 8" trying to move the air in there this last grow.

Agreed. The 6” intake also gives good air circulation in the bottom of the tent. But again 3x3.

ATM humility is kicking my butt. Doors open and fan on bench between the tents but 30c & 52% is best I can do.

Need to rig up portable AC.

I'll add, the plastic housing in the 6" fans is super restrictive. Take the front cover off and open up the back and they move a lot more air. One just needs to be mindful as those blades moving at 25k rpm will cut the shit outta ya. They're a lot more efficient though

Just cut a few of the ribs off the grill covering the blade, I've whacked my fingers enough with open fan blades that turn invisible when running full speed. Just leave enough on to stop your fingers getting whacked when you inadvertently get too close.

I never thought of that 🤣 can't tell you how many times I've been cut by a stupid fan blade. Or maybe it's the stupid operator that's at fault 🤔

These Honeywell circulator's are really popular, I have 2 and a tower fan, tower fan is junk so another Honeywell, well known company, it will be. SSgrower
I've really come to like the durability and performance of them. I have a box full of burned out pole fans that last me max around 8 months. My guess is they're not really built to run 24/7.

So far the 8" Honeywell is still going strong and I've had it running 24/7 for more than a year now. One of the reasons I decided on the same model fan for the oscillator. The oscillator is a little bigger at 10" but for me that is perfect for the 5 x 5. I don't see me running it on anything other than the low setting which should also help in terms of reliability of the fan.

I have noticed a fan that Vivosun has what looks suspiciously similar to the ACI fan, 10 speeds and all. I wonder if ACI is white labeling their fans for Vivosun or whoever is manufacturing for ACI is also manufacturing for Vivosun.
