I've often though about flood and drain. in the past it seemed almost unrealistic with my headroom but with my split shelf i put in for the tubs i could easily add a table with room for a rez underneath.. not looking to jump into it now but it's nice to know if i wanted to i prolly could.
thats the second time in the past couple days i heard about AI taking artists work. a videographer that i know was just telling how hard it is to compete with ai and how people are expecting the same kind of shots.
i've always had the utmost respect for artists because that is one talent i have little of and always fascinates me. it just really sucks seeing some machine trying to water down their work!!
wearing the vomeros right now in fact!! had a super easy friday and still got a paid a little. i picked up this sweet new gig for every other friday where i check in on rich peoples houses and make sure all is well. they left for the winter to their other fancy house and they pay me to go in and flush the toilets and stuff!!! hahaha i got four houses right now in the same HOA!! suckers!!!! did that then stopped and got a haircut.. stopped off at the grocery store and now i'm home for the weekend!!! picked up a big hunk of beef and potatoes to make some stew tomorrow!!!
i watched hocevar's interview today.. at least he took it serious.
looks like the Dinger is gonna drive a dodge!!!
cool flag to fly too man!!!! and you're gonna have to sew velcro on the the sleeves of the shirt like in the commercial!! hahaha

AI seems to be one of those things that everybody jumped into headfirst and now we're realizing what kind of rat poison it really is along with the data centers.
IDK if you saw but AC Infinity dropped the fake AI stuff and revealed a new controller that's "adaptive intelligence". Nothing but trigger sensors and a messaging system still but they jumped on that AI hype train and tryin' to jump off it now.
The cartoonish and jumbled up art makes me gag and is irritating like hemorrhoids to me lately. I saw an AI menu on a taco truck and the food looked like it was made by Lego people. Just something inherently wrong about typing words for a prompt and it spitting out an image without ever picking up a pencil or paint brush to create that art.
Pure fraud to me. People with 8 fingers on one hand and limbs bending the wrong way...extra arms and shit. It's not art. Food looks weird too.
And now it's being used in film and even narrator voicing. Fucking robotic voices with no flow. Humans can still talk so WTF? Give me Morgan Freeman as the voice of God any day and not some weird Alexa sounding robot!
Like when CGI took jobs away from people who build sets and props for movies & tv. But this is way worse.
HEB is using AI security and it's flagging people for shoplifting without evidence and these fucking Stans working for the store use it instead of common sense and open themselves up to lawsuit over it. Just hire a damn security guard to watch CCTV and catch the thieves that way. People want AI to do all the work for them or some shit.
Every type of system or grow method has it's pros and cons and flood and drain is no different.
Biggest cons are probably a bulky system that takes up space but grows a small garden. Headroom is a challenge and needs to be planned out. And lastly, is a bit of a gas guzzler on nutes and water.
It's old school as well. Not many do it or want to do it so there's little to no help in the cannabis world. I'm going off memory for the most part because I was around when these and waterfarms were the go-tos before DWC systems.
Pros are a very active, highly stimulated, high metabolism garden and no special extra equipment like a chiller or big air pumps are used.
There's cons that I have turned into pros. Much like growing weed and the harder parts of it like managing stretch,,,instead of trying to work against it

or figure out what causes it

,,,,make it work for you and then it becomes an advantage.
Most flood and drain systems are stacked with the bed over the rez. If that's changed to side by side it takes up flooring footprint but if the water level in the rez is no higher than the bottom of the grow bed, then my grow bed can be run as a low rider and when the physics and gravity kicks in, execute a flood and drain with the bed only 8" up off the floor.
What I like most is it cuts to the chase of growing weed. It's not designed to grow bucket fulls of roots or 6' tall and wide trees indoors and could never support that style of growing. Instead, it's all about buds or colas on small, fast growing, and quick to harvest plants with a very fast turnover into the next crop.
Takes advantage of light technolgy better than most other systems as well with the uniformity and compacted canopy. Super efficient.
Truck race lacked the thrills and excitement of a finale but we grabbed those points!!!
Ben Rhodes and the 99 is my truck guy and other than that, just want to be entertained.
Today's O'finity or Xriley race will be a little more intense with more contenders. I'm pulling for Creed or Kvapil in that one.
Horns play in a few at Mizzou. Toss up there IDK.
Might get into some squishin today. Nice weather for that.
While I wait for my Freakshows to arrive or not arrive from England, MOB has Higher Elevation latest drop of Freaks.

Watching closely what will happen after this election and the feds in regards to seeds.
Looks like the December ban will happen and the lawsuits to stop it will be ineffective. We take a huge step back then in the new session take the steps forward to go legal again, sell seeds and all that.
I doubt many shutter but more than likely pauses and waits.
What comes out on the other side is anybody's guess.
I'm betting on standarized government weed like Budweiser or some shit and home growers become something like home brewers making craft beer without fear of prosecution or black mail. Veterans of these fucking forever wars can finally get the weed they need for the PTSD. That's the most important part of all this IMO even if the weed could be better.
Standarized weed would be something like capped THC % and general hybrid, indica, and sativa.
Craft would heirloom and home bred for terps and wild euphoric and sometimes psychedelic effects not found in standarized weed.
It's exciting and promising times TBH. I'm actually thinking career change.
