Dropping this now because once you start a journal it's motivation to get the grow started! Kinda of a way to kick myself in the butt and get moving.
Maybe a few weeks before actually dropping seeds while I wait for the current grow to finish out then clean up and reboot for the run on indicas.

Trance Plant is Cherry Trance x 88 G13 HP from California

Hashberry is an indica landrace out of Northern India cultivated by Mandala in Spain. She put in some steps getting to the Hideout that's for sure.

VGK F4 is a purply fat diesel out of Maine by Uruz. His stuff is kinda funky. Really good genetics but I feel like his work needs some cleaning up in selections. On a good path though.

Stinky Pink is a white label out of California packing a legendary name and a lot to live up to but at the same time..old stock bought from a bargain bin, white label, fems, only 5...we'll see.
Atomic Northern Lights is in the bullpen but not on the roster and holds the same credentials as Stinky Pink.

Grow system is flood and drain and open floor plan
Similar to this stock photo but my rig is a 12 gauge super charged turbo injected hydraulic grenade launching hotrod fueled by love & chitin

Medium is a combination of these products starting at 50/50 coco/perlite

Food and fixins. I'm a sweet and salty kinda feeder

Lights? IDK how to describe them other than after I built the rig, I looked in the mirror and this guy was looking back at me and the song Champagne Supernova started playing in my head

Preview of things to come in this Northern India landrace Indica with a name my gringo ass can't pronounce or even spell.
I find this line very interesting because they're not like the Afghani indicas further north up the Kashmir mountain range. Maybe due to more fertile valley conditions and lower altitude they take on some sativa traits with elongated colas and thin leaves but still carry hash plant qualities in the oil production. Nature's hybrid IMO

I got a front row seat for this one…Nice Bandit.I’ve been looking in mandala seed shop online actually less than a week ago as I’m interested in getting some landraces in to grow and maybe do some breeding way down the track..how trustworthy is this shop.

Right on Max!
I have lot of good things to say about Mandala but it's different from probably any other seed bank.
They're in Spain but ship from France.
They take Summers off and return in September. Orders placed between mid Spring and September may sit on hold for the whole Summer before it ships.
If they're in season, an order from the time I click buy to the time I get it could be anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Personally, I say they're on "island time" because islander life tends to be very slow and there's nothing fast about Mandala.

They do communicate but may take a few days for a reply. I have an order in limbo now and even with the slowness of it, would and will buy from them again.
Their international shipping is as stealth as it gets. It's always hard to find my seeds and I wont say how they do it but when you see you'll be like, "that's brilliant"

I like what they have because we don't get that stuff in the USA. Only way to get it is to import it and I've come to accept the long process in getting it and do feel it's worth it.

Wicked.that’s given me heaps of confidence to purchase through them as there prices are up there ..I don’t mind the wait long as I get them I’m happy..hard to find stealth shipping is exactly what I need here and they have strains i havnt seen anywhere else in the world they have quite the collection..I see the stinky pink is out of stock but I like the romscotti f1 black label .soo many great strains to choose from.there’s a few I like named after a kalashnikov .most I like are between 15-20% but I’m not letting that fool me .

The packs!

I also wanna turn these ten seeds into hundreds so males will be kept

Another good and reliable bank for me has been Great Lakes Genetics. I got the Bodhi Trance Plant from there.
My latest order is gonna force me to make some elbow room for the newcomers

I have too much fun playing with rail lights seeing what happens when I mix and match...
Decided to run UV up top and inner canopy but had to order an extension cord for the lower rail before I can light the two rails up together.
UV are Mammoth snap in rails designed to add to most existing 4x4 lights for an ez fit.

The inner canopy light will be set between the root systems and lower canopy glowing upward but I'll likely make something so it mounts and rotates 45* left or right from from center.

IMG_5106[1].jpeg

Wanted to get the sidelights in but needed 3D printed end caps to be able to rotate them in intervals like numbers on a clock dial.
Instead of being normal flat rails, these are two slim parallel rails offset 45 degrees from center and I want them to spin on the hooks..
I needed four in a hurry so I asked myself...What would a Spaceball do?

Got 'em hung in a matter of hours

IMG_5109[1].jpeg

So far so good with the end caps! With all the holes I can rotate them to hit buds at an ideal angle

IMG_5112[1].jpeg

Like skittles with this one...Girls are gonna taste 1100 watts of electric rainbow at their peak.
With UV like that I should get a racing stripe of frost down the canopy top right? Be cool if it did 😋

Wiping down the germinator kits tonight, thinking about numbers.....

ahhhhh yah!! look at you with the trans am vg!!!!! bet it's fast!!!!!

The media coco/perlite mix is done.
Simple and very effective base that can stay a soilless hydroponic medium.
Add castings and it becomes a seedling starter mix.
Add compost and other amendments and it becomes a super soil.

My recipe is a very basic 50/50 + 1.
Canna, along with a cheap compost tumbler, makes this incredibly ez and very cost effective at roughly half the cost of premixed and bagged mixes. Along with that, nobody in the market does this recipe so I have to DIY it.

Canna blocks come in a tote so it's important to not cut it open because it's meant to be used. Just pull the sleeve off and open the tote

IMG_5181[1].jpeg

Slowly add 3 to 3.5 gallons of water pouring it into the holes

After a couple hours it's come to life and ready to use

IMG_5218[1].jpeg

I empty the tote into the tumbler then fill the tote with perlite to the same volume as the coco that was in the tote. This gives me a 50/50 blend.
Add less perlite if something like a 70/30 blend is wanted but the totes makes it very ez to measure off 50/50.

IMG_5221[1].jpeg

Next, I add 1 gallon of fine ground crab meal for every 4 tote mixture so in total 4 blocks of coco, approx 10 gallons of perlite, and 1 gallon of crab meal per grow.

IMG_5223[1].jpeg

Mix it in the tumbler for about 10 minutes getting a great upper body workout since fully loaded it can weigh around 35-40lbs

IMG_5224[1].jpeg

And look at that. Better than what comes in most bags and for less than half the cost too

IMG_5226[1].jpeg

I made a couple of mixers with my 3D printer to help and they're taking a beating but still holding up!

IMG_5231[1].jpeg

One last rinse before I stick plants in it...

Behold!
The incredibly complex and highly sophisticated plumbing apparatus of a flood and drain system

About to put that hammer down!

i like that big chunky perlite you got!!!

how have you been liking the finer crab compared to the neptune stuff? i ended up running three rounds with the finer grind and i had my reservations about it at first but in the end i think it was just as good if not better. i was wondering if you felt the same way?

.

"why do you take your cat to the hydro shop?" "to pick out new lights!!!!" hehehe if the cat likes it, it must be good!!!!

.

so i kinda cheated... either that or maybe my murdered out VG is faster than your pontiac!!! haha ...mine went in a couple days ago...

yours in coco and mine in true hydroponics... 🤣 🤣 🤣 took me like three minutes just to type that out i was laughing so hard!!!

catch me if ya can!!!! ;bo;3grs
