Well this is it.this is day 30 .see how they marginally get bigger as you go down.i thought maybe it was the light but I gave a couple left over gals to a mate 3-4 grows back that we’re 2-3 weeks old in veg.and they done the same.his leaves were all twisted.I’ve had that aswell.does this look like russet mites to you guys.last grow was fine..just say it is for a minute it’s rm..wouldn’t I b getting plants infested every grow..I’ve lived here for decades and no problems growing outside so I dunno wtf it is.i don’t think it’s russets though.

Found my 100x scope..nothing on petioles or under leaf .i pulled leaves from the top and lower down…I even looked in the soil.there is nothing anywhere so that crosses off russet mites..leaves aren’t shiny or clawing but dull and dark,plants not drinking .can’t b over watering as they aren’t drooping.ppm Of runoff is lower than I’m feeding.that’s strange as the plants dark.there is some purpling of the petioles.maybe it’s just the seed from the get go …but I’ve had nice plants do this.
im thinking maybe I should just flush the coco with something and reduce the nutes for a week and see what happens.

Yup smoothed edges where they should be serrated is a pretty good indication. Also new leaves that have less finger than the ones just below them. Eg. A plant that had 7 fingers then showing 5. Sometimes you see a single leaf

No light leaks..I’m actually thinking there is salt buildup in the coco..let’s see what happen when I reduce the feed to say 250-300ppm and see if the ppm of runoff raises..it looks like n but leaves aren’t shiny or clawing….i faintly remember mimedgrower telling me to do something like this years ago….

Hygrozyme will work well. Yeah just enzymes and water. Yo can get away with 1-2 times but 3 is sure fire is why i suggest it as a blanket statement. But depending how much build up 1 will do. After the enzymes have completely run through then 15L of 400ppm to make sure they have some food after the flush.

You can also test runoff of the enzymes to give you an indication of the effectiveness of the flush. Basically if you see the ppm of enzymes coming out that you put in then you should be good to follow up with a low 400ppm feed.

I had the same issue with my plants the past two runs and I just reset my timer to run during the day instead of night thinking I had a light leak too. Do you always feed that low around this time? Maybe I just feed heavy but around week 3-4 I'm up around 850PPM and I feed twice per day in 2 gal pots with pure coco and no perlite.

im in 4 gals and 40% of that is perlite .I’m only getting away with low feeding as I usually run quite abit through so the ppm of runoff is usually in check…I do remember that plant wasn’t getting the runoff earlier in the grow and I think it has built up .

yeah i havnt been fertigating correctly but seeing what I can get away with with one feed a day.so I just started feeding lower with plenty of runoff.no science behind what I’m doing..as soon as I lowered the ppm and add another 10+% of chunky perlite my problems disappeared and my yields were really good with Big buds..so I thought the feeding isn’t too far away along with the enviroment.so I have stuck to low feeding..with the buildup I was getting 2021 the ph was 4.7 but yet the buds were okay but not great. but weren’t like the small buds I’m getting on one plant every now and then and the same strain nxt to it would b completely the opposite in bud growth.i never knew what it was thinking it was just a bad seed or some mutant.and I wasn’t even checking runoff..this is the first time I have since I started lol.

im a little frightened to check the others haha ..they look okay but probably not .so she’s all reset .hopefully I see an improvement between now and harvest..

Good stuff brother…. Sounds like you may have had a hydrophobic area in the media… that should be corrected now. If you suspect that in the future then use an enzyme dunk and soak for 30 min to an hour then let it drain. This is an alternative way to flush also but much more time consuming

Botanicare makes Clearex, which will also remove excess salts in any medium......... I often use it as a flush when needed. It's actually 4% citrus juice.

i don’t know exactly how to rebuff but is probably mix 250 ppm of nutes with something like 500ppm of cal mag in that.just going by the ec on the bag which is .5 ec..I probably wouldn’t do it but.quite easier just to buy a couple 50 litre bags..that’s all I use ea grow.

You can but for the cost i don’t like to. It breaks down over the grow and that leads to less aor holding capacity. No real need to PH adjust or buffer coco these days. It well rinsed if its any quality brand. Good quality coco is low in pith.

it was the last paragraph where it mentions it will force a plant to use up stored nutrients..


Many flushing products require a 10-14 day window prior to harvest which reduces the crucial terpene production time in crops. Clearex requires a smaller 3-7 day window prior to harvest so growers can continue to maximize the yield and potency of their crops without jeopardizing flavor.

Clearex can be used to correct the most common cause of crop failure- the buildup of nutrient salt deposits in soil or soilless grow media. Over-fertilization and high concentrations of mineral based nutrients in grow media can cause shrinkage and death of plant cells due to the excess draw of water through cell walls. This can eventually lead to irreversible wilting of plant leaves and stems. It can also lead to nutrient lockout and crop failure. Jeez I hate my door to my room it needs to b heaps wider lol.its such a pita pulling plants out through it so much so I cant bf pulling the rear ones out to defoliate them.i pulled the front middle zamal sunset to get to them to pluck some I mean bloody heaps of leaves off..soo leafy lol.very close proximity to ea other that light isn’t getting through to the lower buds....these gals are late too.probably go to 13weeks..
The Zamal sunset girls are completely different animals .front left has the mango coming through whereas the middle girl she is growing near identical to ones I grew outside in 2018-19 candy like skittles smell on the finger rub and stacking very nicely.lots of budsites and super clean..man she’s tall too and at about 15” -16 to light .and she’s drinking hard ,by lights on the pot is very light..im surprised i havnt got salt buildup but I think she is drinking all the nutes up.tops do look a little smaller than the lowers though.I’ll keep an eye on her.

Was looking at the Zamal sunset thinking I bet a million dollars us she’s getting too much light.. those top buds should b way bigger than they are without a doubt.you can see when you look down the plant where they are better..13 inches off the light was enough for me to say…your coming out baby and I’m gonna bend you like Beckham haha .i don’t like doing it 5weeks in as the stems near woody.she will thank me later..I squash bout an inch of the stem just squeezing it up and down and doing it as I bend.bit of fencing wire taped to it held with some 3m tape.had to use some tie wire too.the fencing wire will prevent the branch standing back up.it should do the trick.i put a stake in too to hold that branch firm,she’s gonna bend and break if I don’t…couple pics

that one I flushed still isn’t drinking like the others .i don’t know what else to do.i will check the runoff later and see what it says.…it’s def not transpiring but one beside it is so that’s what I don’t understand.i was thinking maybe it’s the light but I dunno .problems in the roots I gather.

They have the accordion style doors as well. Not a huge fan but I have a set on my office closets. Really help with space issues when a door is just in the way and no where to pocket one.

Hi aqua @Aqua Man i didn’t want to comment in spectrumfarms diary as to fill it up with my question on praying.i agree 100% if they are praying hard that is light stress.my problem with that is my sick plant is praying but not drinking all that much.the plant beside it isn’t praying ..different pheno and is sucking it up like a whore .do you think there could b soil compaction.small root ball or not enough oxygen or somethi…it’s like it’s getting an reverse effect from too much light..a very photo sensitive pheno

It could be but it can also be genetics. Even different phenos will tolerate different amounts of light under tge same conditions.

Transpiration is affected by many things and while light is the driver. Media water content, temp, humidity and salinity all play big roles. So yea it could absolutely be that but it could just as easily be something else. Each oheno generally requires slightly different different ideals
