Good afternoon Builders!!

I joined here a bit ago, finally getting around to starting the next grow so I wanted to officially start my journal on here.
Prior to this grow I wrapped up a big auto grow in my 4x4 and a smaller photo grow in the 5x5. In my intro I mentioned a few specific strains I’d be trying this time, but I’m calling an audible. I received some tiki cuts from a friend and I want to test those first before doing a big seed run.

In my 4x4 (pictured below) I have 7 cuts of my big bad wolf mom and some smaller bonsais for a growalong with Catdads collection.
These will be fed using Jacks321

In my 5x5 I’ll have cuts of deathstar and gg4 from tiki, bless your heart (Irene x wookie) from my buddy, some Conan crosses from Catdad and I’ll squeeze in HP91 from topdawg (f2 by @BackyardBoogie ) and chem101 from coastal (f2 by @BackyardBoogie ). I’ll also be trying organic fertilizers in the large tent this run.

Overall, I’m super stoked to try these cuts, as well as the f2s from my buddy. The organic feeding will be a learning curve, but will be fun learning!

I included some pictures of some of my favorite auto strains from the last run, as well as the 4x4 currently.

I spent the afternoon mixing coco, potting up and getting stuff situated. I ran out of coco midway so I’ll have to go out tomorrow and grab some. I think I might try the pro mix, feel free to drop your recommendation. This would be used for tray2grow organic growing.

This group of photos (my organic 5x5) consists of tiki gg4 (clone) and deathstar (clone), bless your heart (clone), chem101 f3, hp91 f2, lavender boogie (@BackyardBoogie ), lavender lemonaid f2, and Wolfpack f3. I also have some auto testers from Catdads collection grapeset, star destroyer, Zenobia and aptx 4869.

Before I get into what I did with what, a little status update on them all. The lavender boogie, lavender lemonaid and Wolfpack are all freshly sprouted and were in plugs. The rest were in small nursery bags of amended coco and have been struggling a bit, the clones not as much. I think I fed them with liquid feed too soon and stressed them. I’ve been letting the stressed ones chill and just been using casting tea and water.

Since I had a few clones looking strong I potted them up into tall 2gal pots and 2.2gal autopots. These are organic, so coco amended with pridelands, gypsum and myco, watered with recharge and 1/2 strength roots Buddha grow. Hopefully they root out well. The bless your heart have been vigorous af.

I also potted up some of the seedlings into plain coco. Since I’ve been struggling with my seedlings using organics I am using jacks and plain coco until they root out the small pot a bit and switch them to organics. Once I get better I’ll use less salt based feed ideally.

I’ve attached some pics from today. The closeups are gg4 and big bad wolf from my 4x4 thats on d24 of flower. The gg4 is the frostier one.

Good luck with your projects!
I've had great luck with canna coco block for the base in the coco/perlite blend I use. Very low in salt and only needs one rinse after bringing to life.
After the blend with perlite it's pretty much an inert seed starting mix that can be made into an organic soil mix or kept as a soilless hydroponic medium. I like that ability to take it down different paths depending on which ingredients get added to it

Prior to trying pro-mix I’ve been buying Mother Earth 70/30 coco/perlite. That’s been solid for me after a rinse, as well. A little cheaper and fewer steps with perlite included. I’ll keep using that for my salts since it’s peat free.

I ended up getting the MPO promix for my organic stuff. Yesterday, I potted up a big bad wolf mom and a wandering Jew cut I had using that. I’ll see how it goes. I plan on reusing all of this indefinitely.

Hey welcome to the group. I've been using Promix type mixes for a long time. I tend to go for the cheapest brand I can get. I normally use VPW30 from ABS Greenworld when I can find it as it comes with 30% perlite already in it. I've found all of the Promix mixes to be very similar but I supplement them all with more perlite, gypsum, azomite, mycos and worm castings in Autopots.

You said above " I’ll keep using that for my salts since it’s peat free." What's wrong with Peat? it works very well in the AP's

It drains better and doesn’t hold water as long.
I also won’t reuse it after using salts with the trays. The build up is horrendous. If I won’t reuse it I wouldn’t wanna throw away the peat. So mainly for the reuse than anything

I’d like more perlite in this promix. Otherwise it’s been great overall!!

Got an update here. Getting ready to take a 2 week trip for work so I'll try and update when I get back.

First my salt tent (pictured below), just a general update. Everything is cruising, pictured is Big bad wolf from csi and gg4 from tk. It'll be due a defol next weekend, I defol at d21 and 42 in flower. The GG4 stretched alot! We had to tie it up this week. The bbw is doing its thang!

Next my organic tent. Some of the seedlings I started with salts but top dressed and have been letting them work on the amendments now. I took a hit with my dome, I guess I didn't take the top off (I didn't check them for a day) and they got cooked. I'm letting them ride and some seem to be hanging on. The 1020 tray is a mix of chem101, lavender lemonaid f2, wolfpack f3, lav boogie and some autos from my buddy Catdad.
On the tray2grows I've put everything in tall 2gallons and have been hitting them with liquid feed and ferments every 3 days or so and top dressing biweekly. I have a cut of the gg4 and a cut of bless your heart (irene x wookie) from a friend in the 2.2gal autopots.

Also pictured is my first homegrown veggie! a mini white cuke. I let it over-ripen a bit but it was delicious
