My first grow - Tangie Dream & Black Mimosa

Thank you @MDK @CannaGranny @GrumpAzz @Rootsruler, and anyone else I missed.
I appreciate the tether to reality and all the information about how to move forward. I appreciate you all!
I gave myself the evening to be bummed. Woke up today and started making a plan… that’s all I can do. Going to finish what I started, learn, fix a bunch of things, and start again 🤪👽
If folks have had good luck with captain redbeard genetics, then I’m thinking this is user error on my end. I have a list of about 20 things that went wrong.. lol so in all reality I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was definitely naive.
That’s the way she goes! Away we go again 🌱
I have been growing Redbeards genetics for almost five years now. As a matter of a fact, four out of the six I just planted was his genetics. I have had one herm incident which I believe I caused due to a failing nighttime light setting on a humidifier. The guy breeds for fire. I like that 🙂
Anyways, you got this. Start off on the right foot, ask questions and be determined. You will be growing some fire weed in no time!
And BTW, you are welcome, my pleasure🥰

that’s so funny that you say that. I was going back through some of the mistakes i think I made and one is that I realized too late that my humidifer had a damn light on it. They stick LEDs on everything these days. I plan to get a new one, specifically designed for the purpose with hoses so the unit can sit outside my tent.
A few other upgrades coming for grow two. Think my main issue was getting far too excited to have plants and not understanding the space I had them in first.
I’ll see these plants finish up and learn what I can from the end process. I’ll be starting more redbeard genetics in April (95% sure).

The mistakes I’ve made in this very first grow of mine that I’ve been able to identify:
Didn't have tent heat/humidity dialed in
Didn't have lung room ventilation dialed in
Didn't know how to water or when
Checked on plants too often and exposed to light leaks
Defoliated too late in veg, too soon in flower
Trimmed by hand and ripped stems
Didn't investigate plants well enough
Grew one plant too many
Too little dirt in too big of a pot
Didn't keep good notes
Guessed on nutrients and PH
Didn't train plants efficiently
Didn't top correctly
Got too confident
Got lazy
Grow wasn't clean enough - too much dog hair, etc
Light from electronics - humidifier!
Get rid of the camera! Complete DARKNESS
Lung room not designated to growing... opened, messed with
Added plants before I knew all my variables
The light schedule made me prone to light leaks and excessive checking
Watering outside of the tent - moving plants when they weren't ready

I might still be doing some of those.
Your list seems too long to have lazy on it.

The aftermath of the hermie catastrophe and what I saved to finish. Expecting seeds. But will get a first crack at drying and curing!

All I had the energy for today was a trim of compromised bud sights, showered them to knock pollen off, and now they’re dry (ish) and back under lights and a fan.

Thank you! What a community here. Glad I found the place. I was beginning to feel isolated in my grow. My wife loves that I have a hobby, but she zones out the second I start talking about the plants 😂🤪 which is fair enough. Haven’t looked for any type of feedback before, I’ve just been over on reddit silently being thankful my plants are turning out better than most of what I saw over there lol. Still a finish line to cross though! 👽🫣
welcome aboard!

so glad you found this place! def don't feel isolated anymore. And I know exactly what you mean about rambling everything new you learn about growing to your wife and friends who now just think i'm some mad scientist lol
bless my wife, she does a good job feigning interest in my bullshit most the time!
she doesn't smoke, hates the smell, but still listens to me when i get excited about something new i learned.
for her i have done the best job eliminating all odor of the grow so far by having 2 carbon filter intakes, and 1 carbon filter exhaust.
the things we do to keep the wife happy and keep our hobbies!

sorry for ramblin!
