One_bell here, newbie and need advice on RDWC and auto's for 2nd run

I hope u have figured out ur problem. I think it had to do w root rot if I'm not mistaken? Best wishes, and hope to see u keep posting. We both started as newbs in hydro around the same time, so I'm invested in ur grows.
Yeah I think it was root rot all along. However, this second grow it came out earlier... Hope the third grow will be a good one. Interested in yours too!

Plant on the right is more dead then alive, but this is still showing some progress, up to res change currently. Lights are at 60% (of 480W).

Since I am seeing still a lot of white pistols how long should you estimate I have right here? Two weeks?

Thinking of giving the Epsilon F1 another chance since last time went pretty well, fast but because of the root rot I could not bring it to a good end... Since I see a some left over leaves praying to the lights, I have upped the strength to 65%.

That is an amazing recovery!
I admire your perseverance and looks like it might reward you with some nice bud. Can't wait to see your next grow!

Thanks! Especially if you remember the entire rootball came off of this left plant, certainly looked worse trhe the right one at one point but still managed to recover a bit. still don't know what to use to keep the res sterile next growrh, since hydroguard is unfortunately not available here.

and I'm in it for the long haul

Just go sterile with peroxide like you are now if nothing else.
Is "Southern AG" available there?

Nope, unfortunately not. Orca and King Crab are, however. I dont know to go with that after still getting root rot with great white....

While I haven't reached the finishline yet for this second round, I just started round #3, F1 Epsilons again since the first run went great until the root rot hitted.

This time I choose to presoak my seeds, anyone else doing this? And for how long?

I pre soak 24 hours or till they sink under water.
Then I put them in the vertical germinator with paper towel.
Some use a little peroxide with their soak, I have not yet.

The ladies are not drinking a lot, think that the root rot is taking over again. However, they produce some frost in the tops now:

Slowly seeing the white pistols being backupped by orange haires.

In the meantime I planted the three F1 Epsilon seeds, two in RQS soil plugs, one in a piece of spunge waiting for more soil plugs to arrive lol.
I put them in their new home, under 214 ppfd to begin with. The new home is like the main tent but just a little bit smaller, with its own AI+ controller:

With a second tent I hope to win some time, using the small tent to sprout/partly veg and dry, the big for partly veg and flowering. The little tent has the MH FC3000 evo light, with all the adlights (just like the main tent). Humidifier, heater, inline fan and oscillating fan are from AC Infinity.

Feels a bit like a bold move, starting a second tent while fucking up the first two grows, but I won't give up on my dream to grow my own lol.

I'm still applauding your dedication to the grow, and It has been a noble and kind of fruitful endeavor....but if it were mine I would chop and move on asap. I would have had seeds already germinated waiting to start fresh with my new found knowledge ;pervert...seriously though, you might gain a little more yield and potency but by the way it looked Friday it was close enough...mostly cloudy but still some clear. If you have something ready to go in I would do it...if not, get something ready and chop when it is.
I vote for chop and insert new guys asap! ;smoke

Thanks, I am preparing for the chop atm. If the stars allign I finally get something similar to hydroguard, called Guardian of the Roots tomorrow. Guardian of the Roots is a natural bacterial root inoculant, especially designed for all kinds of Hydro and RDWC systems. It is dominant to many bacteria and fungi (pythium, phytophthora botrytis). The purpose of Guardian of the Roots is to decompose organic matter and may convert it to nutrients that can be absorbed by plant roots. The active bacterium in Guardian of the Roots is Bacillus Amyloliquefaciens. I hope this will help. I will also make a cover for over the net pot. One of the photo's I looked back on, I saw the light coming through it so definitely a light leak, which may also be the reason Great White could not prevent it... pretty stupid mistake.

Before transplanting the F1 seedlings I will try to rinse the rdwc system. I ordered 4 liters of h2o2 so can run the system for a couple hours with a higher h2o2 solution. Or should I try bleach instead?
