Been a long time, decade or so but I got a couple half gallon jars stuffed full of good trim.

Bought some 99.9% isopropyl alcohol and a silicone 11x9 baking tray. For this my process is pretty simple but I will fill the jar half or 3/4 with trim then add the alcohol cap it then shake it for about 30 seconds. After that I will make haste in removing the jar lid, placing a coffee filter or 2 over the mouth of the jar then using the sealing ring I'll tighten the coffee filter over the mouth of the jar, then pour the alcohol out and into the silicon container. From there it was be placed in a well ventilated area to evaporate. Trim discarded. Oh yea I will probably throw the trim in the freezer prior, idk if it's bro science but I hear it helps for extracting the trichomes.

Any one else got any recommendations or sound good? I'm mainly feeling out the amount of alcohol vs trim...I seen 100-200ml recommended per every 10g of trim or flower but I'll probably just wing it...maybe I'll do one batch winging it and the other measured out to what I mentioned above unless anyone else has a brighter idea

Weigh the finishing pan empty, before you cook it off. Then weigh after decarb. Then you can add the right amount of butter and make cookies. Sorry I'm baked.

200 proof Food grade ethanol or everclear is better then the 99.9% alcohol

The ethanol I've heard Moe mention Ive no experience with it... how is it to work with vs butane? Does it purge off like alcohol or does it pool low like butane?

I'm gonna run it, I've done it in the past with iso 91% with pretty good result but I'd be open to try a different solvent in the future

Get your ISO in the freezer first also like the shake.
This stuff gets better if you can let it cure after evap.
I speed up evap with the oven[ it stinks].
I turn oven on to 200 when it reaches 200 I shut it off and place the pan in.
Remove when cool and repeat if you can.

Yea I forgot to list that step...thank you steam that was in the itinerary. Yea I'm not sure on the stove part we shall see there...if I got the house to myself I will, if I got the kiddo I may have to wait til I don't

I make good shatter with trim, ethanol and a a used ETOH pro I bought for 1k. I suggest watching extract craft videos for step by step for choice oil.

I’ve done everclear even with 2….2-1/2 minute soaks and shaking it just DOSENT dissolve the trich’s like iso… after 5 total minutes my trim still had trich’s.

I cooked it off in a double boiler with an electric griddle

I did this in 2012 last grow til recently and probably my best grow ever....made some nice hash of some sorts, like a sugar wax...there werent many solid tutorials but I whipped the shit out of it and just did what felt natural to purge it completely and the stuff i ended up with was easily dab-able. Didn't even see dabs for like another 3 years so I wasted it on bowls lol
