Do you use a weed grinder? Tell me about your grinder. Do you like it? What do you like about it?

I've been collecting and reviewing weed grinders for over a decade, and I'm currently updating my content.
There are 12 different grinders on my desk right now for testing and about 100 more in my collection.

I'd love to hear your preferences and perspectives on grinders.

Well, not much attention here.
I use a grinder prior to vaping dry herb.
I don’t know the brand name of most, but one of the better ones is what came from “Planet of the Vapes”.
The best ones for me are really fine grind, but they are hard to find. I have two, once normal hand twist, it produces a great and very fine grind. The other has a crank and is difficult for me to turn (arthritis), but the grind is super fine and really good in the vape.

I gave up on those wrist busters and went to an electric coffee grinder, this one with a different name works well 3 years so far1743172089441.png

I am interested in getting a grinder that's not a grinder, but instead slices the bud with razor blades that are stacked while one is stationary and other spinning. As the bud enters the slicing cavity, it is sliced rather than crushed. Just a thought.

like little orbital guillotines slicing the buds?

i like sharpstone grinders.

i'm kinda interested in getting a flower mill. i printed one out of plastic and really liked it till it got gummed up and couldn't clean it.

This is what i use.
The hemp made 1 stage Santa Cruz. Works great imo. All i need and it's lasted 3x as long as ANY metal grinder I've had.

This one has a blade.
It doesn't work that well imo Screenshot_20250328_203622_Chrome.jpg

Never found one I really liked and I've had a lot of them.........i guess i'm just a scissor guy.View attachment 95255

I used to use medical scissors in a pill bottle to chop it up. Bought my first grinder in 2008 as a keepsake from Amsterdam.

Only bought my current one about two years ago. Mostly for its size. Also has a keif catcher.

Pipecarver’s post had me do a quick check on Amazon for a battery powered coffee grinder. I used to use an old coffee grinder years ago but it died. Was my papas coffee grinder.

This looked interesting…

Sounds like your describing something close to a bowl trimmer with the spinning blades and all.....if you keep cranking you eventually end up with chopped and ready to roll bud.

I posted about this one before.

Yea, I checked them out. I was thinking they might do the trick, but? May I ask what you don't like about. Is it that the bud just lays on top of the slicer, rather than working it's way down thru it and there is no way to apply gentle pressure to convince it to go thru blades?

Kinda reminds me of the Kactus Kutter...

Just not into plastic, and it's kinda bulky.

Oh well...

I dont like it because I grow my own, so it's always ultra sticky and fresh.
So all it does it clump up inside there and never actually break apart.
Dry dispo bud works wonderfully in it though lol 😆

Never had/tried one, Ole skool. Let it sit out for a while and break it up with fingers. What's the pro's to using 1? T/u

;pass ;roll
By grinding your weed, you're able to create a finer, more uniform texture that allows for better combustion and more potent smoke. The finer texture of ground weed also makes it easier to roll into joints, which can result in smoother, more even smoke

Just a quick copy from Google.
When you bust up by hand you lose so many trichomes from them getting stuck to your fingers.
You lose some in a grinder too but not nearly as many.
Evenly broken so you get a better smoke too

I have a metal Santa Cruz. I like my space case a bit better. It’s a little larger then the Santa Cruz and the grind comes out a bit better for my smoking style.

Yeah I've used space case grinders they're really nice.
I juat don't like the 120 price tag lol

I like my 4 piece Santa Cruz had it for 2 years now but it was a little pricey for a grinder. soak in iso once a month and its as good as new

I’ve found our tap water gets hot enough it cleans things out as long as it’s held under the running water.

ISO is the backup method though.

I’ve had mine a number of years. They used to be reasonably priced. They got greedy but they are nice grinders.

I have never cleaned my grinder. I’ll chip the hash off between the lid and base when it don’t turn by hand anymore. But I have never cleaned it. Mine is probably one of the original space case grinders made. Bullet proof.
