New to this wicked new paradise and am fired up to be here. Looks awesome and thanks for allowing me to come aboard 🙏

I love SouthPark and Cartman was always my favorite character. He had a pet frog named Clyde Frog. I named one of my favorite ferrets(RIP lil guy 😔) after him hence my profile pic and handle.

My name is Anthony(Tony) but Clyde Frog, PerfecTrader, or Coco Lopez will work, just don't call me late for dinner :D

I would legit vote Randy Marsh for POTUS. He is awesome and his Tegridy Farms is hysterical. Hah those socks, I'm jealous 🤣

Yeah 1 extra humidifier and just squished the 4x4s together. I have knock of Gaia veg called Dr. Earth's 4-4-4 I got at Ace Hardware for $18/4lb. It isn't Gaia but the 2-8-6 I have is. I top dressed 1/2c which wasn't enough so added 1.5c a couple weeks later. Now plan 1/2c of each in less than 2 weeks and then flip to flower.
I think I'm going to go check out some tomato cages. If they seem as though will fit well in these 5g pots I may go that route. With 8 different strains to manage, this grow I'm not nearly as concerned with quantity as I am quality. Kind of want to veg for shorter time and get them into flower before give myself too much rope to hang myself with. Not having them under a scrog would help in many ways, so I'm fighting with myself a bit over it.
How you been man? Growing nothing spicy atm?

I’m able to sit up and take sustenance so that means I’m growing. Currently doing some fem seeds from @Oldsog

I’m testing something I have read about white tips. Some people say these are super potent. I disagree. So I’m doing it to measure and put this myth to bed.

Interesting about the white tips, first Ive heard about it. Really healthy looking plants you got there, just noticed the white tips lol. Far out.
 
Aha no, I'm all good. Just a saying. Means if I'm breathing, I'm growing weed.

I had an discussion with someone that believes that when this happens, you are doing something special and stacking trichomes on top of trichomes and that whole bud turns to crystal THC goodness. I believe that is well short of the truth, and the only thing that is happening is you are bleaching the bud and making it worse.

I've seen blog posts and forum posts on it. When this plant shot up, I let it rather than bend that cola down. I can predictably make white buds under this light in that spot, so I said why not.

The test on THC levels of this bud vs another on the same plant that is not bleached will be the decider.



I am also trying to show what I mean when I say light stress is not what some people seem to think it is. I can't tell you how many times I have seen misleading posts by folks who say that you are burning your plants with light, and what they are really doing is growing faster than the support they have underneath.

When you increase PPFD by lowering lights or turning them up, you are essentially stepping on the gas for how fast the plant will grow. This often exposes existing problems. Things like nute imbalances that burn or discolor leaves. You know what I am talking about. Quite often the advise from other growers is "too much light - back it down!" And yes, this will help by slowing growth (and therefore nutrient, water, CO2, and other needs) and making the plant look better. But what is really happening is that the grow is not optimal in some way. When you push on the gas pedal, those things start to appear. The light is not the cause, the poor root system, poor nutrient balance, poor watering, poor whatever the weak link is just happens to get exposed.

If you look at my plant there, the effects of LIGHT are clearly shown. But you do not see leaves dying or other symptoms. That is because the grow is dialed in, and you are seeing the damage of ONLY too much light.

I don't know if I am making myself clear here, but what I am saying is that the claim of light stress that I hear over and over again is just wrong. If the plant and environment was in balance, more light would be no problem, up to the limits of the genetics, until you get so high that you start to bleach your plants. THAT is light stress.

I'm not saying that you should not back your lights down if you run into trouble, you should. It slows the plant down and gives you time to react. But often it seems like the answer is back off the light and leave it backed off. To me that shows a lack of deeper understanding of the whole plant and it's processes. My point would be to back it off, fix what is wrong with your grow, then turn it back up. Or at least learn from this and do it better next time.

This plant is proof that light strong enough to bleach a plant DOES NOT create nute burn or whatever symptom you are getting. Other than the bleaching and taco shaped leaves just around the white bud, this plant is perfectly happy, and even the leaves around the white bud look better than a lot of what I see posted.

Not trying to pat myself on the back here, just trying to dispel myths with facts and testing.

I've never been able to step on the gas pedal yet because of lack of grow being dialed in. I always end up with very subpar grows because of it

When you are referring to "white tips" are you talking about the very end of each leaf? If so are you saying you are testing whether pushing them to have the white tips increases THC by pushing plant till leaves are basically say "ok ok that's enough right there"?

I am on grow 5 and every single time I have similar issues, whether in coco, or multiple different living soils. I don't know what else to do except think it is my water PH and watering practices. Literally felt better this grow then any anout leaving them alone and watering only when I felt they needed it. I never waited for drooping leaves but waited for pots to get light. That resulted in about an avg of only 3/4-1g per week in these AC infinity 5gs that seem to hold moisture VERY well, maybe too well if that is possible.

It is a little unclear in that pic, but the green in the end of that bud is all white, and the white is spreading. Not just leaf tips, all the plant material has become white.

When I harvest and do closeups, it will be very clear what I mean. The top half of the bud will have no color.

No sir. I reached out to them via their website but no answer. Is what it is and should have said yes to the 6500 since FD8000 was out of stock till May 15th. I said I'd wait and now am eatin crow. Allllll good though and must not have been meant to be.
Hope to meet up in person with closet-illogic someday though. Anyone hears he attends anything in AZ hit me up
